    weight gain

this is the end of my second week. I've been on low fat 45g since the 25th of June.  last week i was down 3lbs, however this week I'm up 3.6lbs.  I'm starting to believe that this is just another diet scam.  i write down everything that goes into my mouth. i write the portion. calorie, and the fat.  1800 calories and 45 grams of fat.  most of the days i am under.  i walk almost 2 miles every day on a treadmill at 3.0-3.5 for 30 minutes. nothing. I'm going to give this maybe another 2 weeks.

    Re: weight gain

Don't give up so soon. Womens weight fluctuates a lot. Hang in there. Maybe try lowering your daily fat grams. Healthy Choice and Weight Watcher meals are great if you find a few you really enjoy. They are pretty reasonably priced and tell you right on the front the fat grams which make them really nice especially for this program.Don't forget about lots of water.......

    Good luck :)    -Jessica

    Re: weight gain

Slim- do you notice your clothes fitting differently? When you eat right and exercise you lose fat, but gain muscle and muscle weighs more than fat.

I'd suggest taking your measurements.  The first place I lose weight is in my face and my breasts.  Since there's no way to measure my face (smile) I measured my chest, waist, high hips, saddle bags and calves.

You might want to give it a try!

    Re: weight gain

    Lean Cuisines are great too!

Hang in there - Women and hold 3 lbs of water with one saltine!

If we all think about it - Weight loss is really just mathmatical.  Sure metabolism plays a part.  I found the information that a lb of fat is created by 3600 calories.  To loose that lb - you have to eat 3600 calories less during a week then you normally do (or burn them off).  To me that seems like aLOT!  But if you burn at least 300 calories a day in excercise - thats 2100 right there.  Then - Eat just 300 calories less a day - and you've reached that 3600.  I know matmatically - that sounds a lot easier then it is in reality - but it makes me feel better to think about it that way.

    Re: weight gain

I took the pills for 20 days -- and I gained 4 pounds overall. This stuff does not work. Period.  I eat a low-fat diet, so I experienced no side effects at all. I was extra careful to avoid fat because of all the warnings. My weight had been stuck in a plateau and I thought Alli would get me out of it.  It didn't. This was an expensive experiment.

    Re: weight gain

Don't feel bad..the same thing happened to me!  The first week I lost two pounds and the second week I gained one pound...didn't make much sense to me but so far this week I have lost two pounds again.  I think if we hang in there it will even itself out and a couple weeks really isn't very long.  Good luck!

    Re: weight gain

i feel your pain.......if you knew how much i worked out you would think i was a stick......cardio avergage is twice a day for 3 days, weights 3 days, and 5 total days a week of some physical activity and i really have changed my eating habbits...........and all i hear is for me to cut back my calories and make sure you dont slip once!! it is very frustrating, but i am not going to give up...the scale went up on me 3 pounds since my last weight in, but i think it is muscle. YOU are doing great and i think all the detail you are giving your plan will pay off and you inspired me to be more in tune with my calorie intake...my first entry...thanks

    Re: weight gain

Don't be ready to throw the towel in just yet...I just started the program on Sunday (7/8/07) and it seems to be working for me. I am eating Lean Cuisine's and Weight Watchers SMART ONES.  They really are pretty filling after my stomach adjusted to not being so stuffed everynight. I think they are really working for me. I average about 8-10 fat grams per meal, and i KNOW it is working for me. I also am shooting for fewer calories than what the program suggests (closer to 1500 so i am not mad when i get closer to 1800) Regardless what the scale says, the workout is better for your heart...Don't loose heart!

    Re: weight gain

I can understand you are upset with gain.  Your seem to have worked hard to take the weight off.  Maybe you should check and see what you have been eating.  I stick a lot to fish or chicken.  I have been sticking to the plan meals.  It's easier for me to add a little extra here and there.  Maybe you should change you exercis program.  Treadmill are great, but maybe a little faster and uphill.  I wished I had a treadmill, but I just take a daily walk at lunch time and it's uphill.

Just hang in there.  You body maybe going through sometime of ajustment.
