    Curves workout

I am currently taking alli and feel great, wt. loss has been ok, my question is i am walking for exercise, but also read that we need to do strength training. I have started going to curves in addition to walking, is this form of exercise considered strength training?

    Re: Curves workout

    Hi Bmadrid,

Good for you for putting yourself on track to achieve your health and fitness goals.

Yes, Curves can be used for your weight training requirements - hitting all of your major muscle groups.  Remember to always train with some level of intensity to receive the maximum results, challenging yourself to improve each time.  It's great that you're supplementing your curves workouts with walking.  Keep those sessions up as well, several days a week if possible.

    Keep up the great work!

    Good Luck,

    Paul

    Re: Curves workout

I have been on Alli since day one, and started going to Curves last week. Each week, I've lost about 2 pounds. I might add a fourth day at Curves, if I don't think 3 is enough.

    Hi Rhonda,

Good for you.  Listening to your body and knowing when to "up it" (challenge yourself) is a big component to continously seeing results from exercise.  You're obviously thinking along those lines. Losing 2lbs each week is terrific, and healthy.

    Keep up the great work!

    Good luck,

    Paul

    Re: Curves workout

I am also walking 3 days per week & doing curves for 30 minutes 3 times a week.  How do I "log" curves - reps? weight?  I wish myalli would have a "30 minutes of Curves" option in exercise so we could simply add it and understand what that "equals" as far as weekly progress.  Thanks!

    Hey KiminFla,

Thanks for bringing this point up.  In fact, I am going to work with the site to suggest we figure out a good solution for this, due to overwhelming response.  I will keep you posted regarding the solution.

    Good luck,

    Paul

You took the words right out of my mouth!  This is a wonderful idea.  I haven't been entering anything in myalli for working out because I didn't know what to put.  I go to Curves 5 days a week and have been doing the advanced workout.

    Hi Reymm,

For now, record it as strengthening (circuit.) We are looking into a better solution for all those who do curves workouts.  Stay tuned.

    Keep up the great work!

    Good luck,

    Paul

    Re: Curves workout

Thank you!  I have to say I am 100% satisfied with alli!  I am having good weight loss, but more importantly I am also very motivated because of the "nutrition" tools - being able to track calories, fat, fiber, etc makes it easy to build meals and snacks I really like - I know I can "stick with it."  The daily check in for eating, exercise, H2O and weekly weigh in is just right. I have had not one negative side effect - the tools make it so easy to make sure that never happens!  Kudos to you all - people are starting to notice the changes in me, and I happily tell them about alli and the website.

    Re: Curves workout

It would be great if you could allow custom entries as well like we can do in the nutrition log.  Do you think you will post the progress of whether or not it is possible on this message thread or in another topic area?

    Yeah!
