    Re: headaches

I've been hit with headaches too, but I am attributing it to the decrease of caffeine in my diet.  Used to drink 4-5 cups of coffee before lunch and lots of ice tea through out the day.  Now just having one cup of coffee at home and one at work.  Limiting my tea to one large glass at dinner with lots of ice.  So the caffeine withdraw is a real pain in the......head.

    Re: headaches

My daughter (18) and I are on Alli together.  She is experiencing almost daily headaches since we began this program about 2 weeks ago.  I don't have this side effect...and can't find anything in the Alli books about headaches being a problem.  This site is the only confirmation that the problem occurs.  I am happy taking Alli and, other than the pain in her head, my daughter is doing well too.  I think that GlaxoSmithKline should report common side effects on the bottle.  Are there more common adverse effects not listed?  Should my daughter continue with the program or will this side effect go away as her body adjusts to the drug and diet?  Thanks for any advice.

    Re: headaches

I'm a migraine sufferer as well and I've been having headaches too.

I didn't know if they were due to the pills or what.

    Re: headaches

I experienced headaches too yesterday and today.  I am hoping they will subside as my body gets use to the plan.  I don't eat the amount of fat they allow (17 g) per meal.  I usually eat low fat everything so, I don't know if this is why I am having the headaches from taking the pill and eating less fat then they allow?  Maybe I need more water?  How much water are you drink each day?  Just some ideas.

    Re: headaches

I also wrote I was having headaches, mine though are not severe just a constant reminder all the time for the last 3 days.  I've wondered if it could be because I am not getting enough fat in my diet.  "fat withdrawals":), or they are also TE's

    Re: headaches

I too have been having headaches, but I get them so often that I don't know if its from alli or just "becuase".  I do know from past diets though that if you are starting a new way of eating that in itself can cause the headaches.  ESPECIALLY if you are now cutting out/back on sugar.  That, as well as cafeine withdrawels, is a HUGE headache trigger for lots of dieters; also, are you making sure to take your multi vitamin daily?  And are you making sure you are eating enough?  If you are cutting back to much to fast it will take your body time to adjust and is not really healthy (starvation mode).  I know I am super bad about that.

    Re: headaches

I'm been havng headaches, too since I began alli ( 8 days ago) -- and I usually don't get them. It's got to be the alli because I haven't made a real changes with caffine or food -- just alli. I'm also experiencing gas (not much fun)  but believe it or not I'm loving the alli. I've lost 3 lbs. since I began ( 8 days ago). I'm going to continue despite these side effects.

    Re: headaches

I'm also having headaches.  I just finished the third week.  I had them the first week, not the second, but again during the third week.  I'm attributing it to caffeine withdrawal and changes in my eating habits.  I believe it is sort of a secondary TE, not necessarily caused by Alli, but by the changes in eating habits that go along with taking Alli.  Ibuprofen makes my headaches go away.  They are not migraine type headaches though.

    Re: headaches

I'm bumping up this discussion with the hope that someone can offer helpful answers. I have been getting pretty bad headaches since starting Alli. I have NOT, however, changed my diet at all. The only thing I've done is cut back on junk food and doing so never gave me headaches in the past. Is this a side effect we should be concerned about?

     Thanks!

    Re: headaches

I posted this same question a few weeks ago and the alli people told me its most likely from caffine withdraws and the change in diet. I only had them the first couple of days. Just take some excedrine
