    Alli doesn't work for me

I have been on the Alli plan for 3 weeks. No side effects and no weight loss. It said I should consume 1800 calories a day. l eat less than 1000 calories and less than 10 fat a day but no results. I exercise every day.  I a so disappointed

    msbtr:

This sounds like a question for Betty.  I understand that 1800 is too many calories, because it is what my plan said, and I know that is too much for my body.  But less than 1000 and less than 10 fat a day sounds like too little, too.  Why did you go so low?

It's not working for me either. When I think of all the sacrificing I'm doing it's really disapponting.

    HI

With doing 1000 a day and less then 10grams of fat a day it sounds like you put your body into starvation mode and that is why you are not losing. That is way too low of calories and fat. Try 1500 a day and no more then 15 grams of fat for Each meal. Your body does still need some fat.

if youre eating less than 1000 cals a day you prb will not see any weightloss, youre body is in starvation mode. youre barely giving it what it needs so its holding on to the fat.

Re: Alli doesn't work for me

I agree with the previous posters. Less than 1000 cals is much too low for healthy weight loss. And 10g of fat a day is really unhealthy. You are supposed to get 30% of your calories from fat so even on such a low cal diet you would need 300 cals from fat which is @ 33g. And Alli works with the fat you consume - so consuming so little fat gives it nothing to work with.

Re: Alli doesn't work for me

The reason why it isn't working for you is because you are starving yourself!!! You need to eat!!!!!! If you want Alli to work or ANY diet or lifestyle change to work then you need to eat between 1200-1500 calories a day and take in at least 20 grams of fat.  Right now your body thinks it is starving so it is holding on to everything!

Right now you have more of a chance of developing an eating disorder than you do of losing weight!

Re: Alli doesn't work for me

    Hi Msbtr,

What made you decide to go that low in calories and fat? Alli is meant to be used with a low calorie diet that has 30% of it's calories from fat. Taking it when you only consume 10 grams of fat per day is unhealthy for your body. If you are not willing to eat more fat you should definitely not take alli.

As for your calories, why did you choose 1000? I don't know how much weight you have to lose so I can't say how many calories you need. Go to http://www.freedieting.com/tools/calorie_calculator.htm to calculate your maintenance needs. From there, subtract 500 to 1000 calories per day for 1 to 2 lb weight loss per week. If you are counting calories and still not losing at the number that you calculated, I recommend seeing your physician to rule out any medical reasons for this.

    Good luck,
