    Support in the Heartland

I've got my starter kit and will start the plan next weekend. I want to give myself time to plan some meals and get adjusted to a low-fat diet before I start. My friends are giving me grief for trying alli but they don't have a clue what it is to be overweight. I'm at 236lbs and 5'9'' tall. My knees hurt, my blood pressure is worrisome and I'm tired of being tired. If there is anyone else in the Kansas City area that would like to share their thoughts about the plan I'd love to hear them. I really feel like I've got a chance with alli. I want to get all the support I can from others and also give support to those who need it.   Looking forward to hearing from my "allis."

    Re: Support in the Heartland

Hi, I am not from Kansas, Penna.  but I am really needing to lose weight.  I am 5'6" and weigh 214 lbs.  The checkout person (woman) in Walmart gave me her opinion about NOT trying this program.  Each to their own, didn't let it bother me.  I know people would give me a hard time on this and I have told NOONE!!  I am going away to a conference next Monday through Thursday.  I have not taken a pill yet, I think I will try for tomorrow lunch.  I am trying to plan menus and shopping list.  Good Luck!

    Re: Support in the Heartland

I probably shouldn't have told anyone either.  A girl I work with who weighs about 8lbs said the whole thing was silly. Oh well, like you said to each their own. I've started trying to plan my meals too. I think I may be over thinking it though. I actually started to worry that I wasn't putting enough fat in my diet and then I remembered that I sure didn't become overweight without it. I'd be interested to know how you get  on after you start tomorrow. I don't start until next Saturday. I really want to start decreasing my food intake first. I'm wondering if you will take the alli while you are at your conference?

    Re: Support in the Heartland

Something happened when I originally hit post. I hope this doesn't show up twice. I agree with you. I probably shouldn't have told anyone that I was starting the alli plan. A girl I work with who weighs about eight pounds said she thought the whole thing was silly. As you said, to each their own.  I've started planning my meals too. I'm afraid I tend to overthink it all. I actually started to worry that I wasn't putting in enough fat and then I remembered that I sure didn't become overweight without it. I'd be interested to know how your first couple of days go. I don't start until next Saturday. I'm trying to cut back a little first. Will you be taking the pills when you go to your conference?

I'm from the KC area on the MO side and would love to have a buddy.  So far I've lost almost 10 lbs with Alli, but have 50+ pounds to go.
