    My past history with Orlistat/Xenical

I lost the 127 pounds by walking and actually eating more. But I stalled. Eventually my doctor put me on Orlistat/Xenical. And I managed to drop another 82 pounds putting me at 167, but the price of Orilistat got to be way too expensive and I quit smoking and became less active again due to illness.

My weight is now down 248  (after having it go back up to 267) and I have been waiting for Alli to come out so I can resume my dieting. I feel very comfortable using this product and am looking forward to good results. I do agree it is not for everyone, and if you can discipline yourself, you will be sucessful. Exercise is important. And I want to add that when I lost all that weight I did NOT have droopy, saggy skin and I believe that the walking really helped with that.

I am 52 years old and I am really HAPPY that Alli is FINALLY on the shelves. Ironically, even doubling up on the ALLI as my doctor has ok'd, it will cost me half the price to be able to use this product!!!  THANK YOU!!!

I wsh you all the best of luck!!!

Good luck LadyChef!! 127 is a lot too lose.  I'm glad to hear you had success previously with this product.  I know how frustrating it can be to lose weight and then gain it back.  I'm starting tomorrow.  I'm 37 and have a lot to lose, over a 100.  I'm a little worried about the side effects.  I'm also glad to hear that you didn't have loose skin!

    Have you started yet?

Hello and Congratulations!!  Are you saying that Alli is the same product that your doctor prescribed to you previously?  What did you mean by doubling up - do we need to double up in purchasing to make sure there is plenty of product or are you speaking that your dose was doubled?  You weren't clear.  Did you regain all of the weight back because you stop using the product?  How long did it take you to lose all of that weight?  Curious in Colorado.  Have a terrific weekend!!!

Re: My past history with Orlistat/Xenical

    Hi - Ladychef

You answered a quesion I had.  I also took Xenical but only 2 months.  My doctor

would not give me another prescription but in that time, I lost 8 lbs in 2 months.

Since Alli capsules are 60mg, I wondered if taking 2 at a time at each meal would be okay

because that was what I took before (120mg) at each meal.  You said your doctor said it was okay.  I have not had any bad effects of this product.  I am on my way to my goal.

Re: My past history with Orlistat/Xenical

My question to Ladychef...why do you need a pill to be on a diet. Can you not limit fats and calories without the pill? Mary Burger...alli's recommended dosage is ok. It's not a perscription drug.

Re: My past history with Orlistat/Xenical

Someone else asked on this message board about doubling the dosage and the mods said not a good idea. Unless, of course, your Dr. OKs it, I'm sure.

Re: My past history with Orlistat/Xenical

Regarding your question to Ladychef about why she needs a pill to be on a diet. I would ask the same of you. According to one of your other posts it appears that you are taking this pill. Can't you diet without it?   If you aren't taking this pill why then are you on this site questioning the choices that others are making? It sounds to me like Ladychef has worked hard for a number of years to get to a healthy weight.  More power to her. I'm sure that none of those years of dieting were a breeze and if this pill can help her manage her weight even better who are you to criticize?

Re: My past history with Orlistat/Xenical

I've read the other posts on doubling up too.  Some of the people are going to start out that way.  I think they want to lose too much too fast.  Based on some of the side effects that other people have posted I think they are asking for trouble.  I took three pills yesterday.  I was very careful with my fat intake and so far no side effects.  I was very hungry yesterday though.  I'm not usually that hungry.  I hope that doesn't continue.

Re: My past history with Orlistat/Xenical

what is the aveage weight loss with Alli?

It seems to me that Alli is more to help and teach us how to eat. Watching fats and exericing.

I really dont think anyone needs a pill to diet . And diet is a wrong word. It should be life long to healthy eating and stop losing and then going back to old ways. I know I lost 60lbs and kept off 5 years. and just didnt watch how and what i was eating and even through I knew scale was going up just kept on.

Weight is  easy after we get there  the hard part is keep it off for good.

What woulld happen if you double on alli.??

I need some one that has been there with this type of pill.??

Good luck. I surport all you and like to learn.

    janet Any tips??
