    Re: TX Support Group

     Hello Lady Texans,

Abilene here! Started on Saturday only one loose stool. Nothing to worry about so far. Have a total of 75 pounds to loose. But will be happy once I am below 200 current start wt was 225 as of this am I am 220. You may get a laugh out of this I thought I had to limit my fat to 15 grams per day! So I kept each meal under 5 with fat free snack! Could explain the five pounds off! :-)

Also doing Leslie Sansone's walk away the pounds video three times per week, the one mile one with Christian music, that gets in 60 mins. a week. The other thing I do is Nopalena Canadian flax seed at bed time that helps with the digestion and a multitude of other things. Here you can only get it at Walgreens.

Best of luck to all of us!

    Re: TX Support Group

    Hi Hi again... :)

Okay, so today is day 5 on Alli for me.  So far, so good.  I had some slight "treatment affects" yesterday, but it wasn't anything that I couldn't "control".. ha.  Unfortunately, they were doing work on our restroom on our floor of the building, and I was freaking out that I might not be able to make it to the floor below.  But never fear, I made it and it wasn't even that bad.  Yeah, a little noisy and gross, but there was no one else there...  :)

So, I hadn't really weighed myself since I started taking Alli on Friday 6/15, but I did this morning and I'm down 3lbs!!!  Feels good.  Really good.

I leave to go out of town for work tomorrow for 4 days, and I'm kind of nervous about it.  Why?  Well, because the kind of trip i'm taking is all about being wined and dined and, well, they usually feed us pretty darn good.  So, I guess we'll see...

Anywho... I just wanted to check in and see how all of my Texas girls (& guys??) were doing today?  Hopefully you are all well, and taking it one day at a time.  As long as the support is here we can all DO this and do it well!

Take care, and just remember.  The "treatment effects" aren't THAT bad, and if you're having them, maybe you're losing weight!!  ;)

    Re: TX Support Group

    Hello Texans,

I'm from Pasadena Texas and i will begin my start pack on friday just in case i get the side affects. My question to anyone out there is do you have to buy the book in order to know exactly how to know what foods have large or small amounts of fat?

    Re: TX Support Group

    Hiya eagertobeskinny,

Woot, love your screen name, and I hear ya.  :)

Anyway.  I did buy the "Are you losing it?" book, but it didn't really tell me anything new that I couldn't figure out on my own.  Eat more than 15 grams of fat per meal and you will get overly acquainted with your bathroom. ;)

But, what I do... (and this may or may not help you) I eat Weight Watchers - Smart Ones as much as I can...  They have the Fat Grams content listed on the back of each box, and it helps keep your fat grams in check.  Most things sold at the grocery now a days do, so, just keep track as you eat your meals and snacks and you should be okay.  Most fruits and vegetables have low fat grams too, so those are good to get...

Also, most fast food places (McD's, Taco Bell, etc...) are high in fat... Unless you get a salad or something to that effect.  But most of them have a "nutrition menu" available for you to look at while ordering.  Oh, and Subway has several sandwiches on their menu that are advertised as being 6 grams of fat or less...

    Does that help at all?
    I hope so...
and I hope you are all doing well today...

    Peace, Love, and Kind Scales,
    ~ChunkyG.

    Re: TX Support Group

Hi, everyone (Central Texas here...about an hour east of Austin!)  Today is my first day of the plan, I will be starting the pills on Saturday.

    GotmyAlli in San Antonio:

I'm right there with you!  My starting weight is 219, I have set my short term goal at 209 as well!   I have set my long term goal at 140 (that will put me in my ideal weight range - I am 5'5"!)

I have started walking on my treadmill, and am very excited about the plan!

    Re: TX Support Group

In Wylie, TX here.  Just finished my workout and it kicked my butt.  Have not been in the gym in two weeks.  Wont let that happen again.

Trying to figure out what to eat tonight.  Don't want to cook; but don't really have a choice.  This would be a good night for something fast.  I think everything I have is frozen.  yuck.  Oh well, instead of griping about it I think I am going to thaw something.

    Good Luck to  you all.
