    Re: 250+ Pounds Anyone?

Hi, was reading some of your post and I understand you would like to see results fast, but you need to be careful and make sure you read the books that come with the alli pills.  Side effects are things that some people report and may not happen to everyone.

    good luck!

    Re: 250+ Pounds Anyone?

    Good morning,

I have been reading some of the recent posts, great to see all the weight loss from so many. I have been on the pills since 7/30 and to date have lost 17 lbs. That is great to me, I can actually feel the difference in my energy level. Nice to eat dinner or lunch and not feel like I have to take a nap just so my body will have the energy to digest my food.

I still have 140 lbs to lose and know it will take a long time to do it, but I sure didn't get this way overnight either. Maybe by this time next year we will be mentoring a whole new group of Alli users and offering them our weight loss tips.

Alli will have to do a commercial with all the success stories to celebrate their one year anniversary. I will be checking back with this post and hope to still see all of you here. I love to eat, hate to exercise, so if I can do this anyone can. I am sure there will come a point when I need all my new Alli friends to help me stay on track.

    Re: 250+ Pounds Anyone?

    Hi Linda

I am right there with you, love food, hate exercising. I have 130 more pounds to go, I started my diet weighing 299, that was two years ago. I lost 13 pounds the first year, another 6 pounds last year. My husband and I celebrated our 25th anniversary and we went to Key West. We walked everywhere, being 280 pounds was rough trying to walk everywhere and then I made up my mind to lose the weight. I lost down to 270 and then in June 2007 I had to have a spinal fusion on my back. My doctor told me that if I wanted it to heal properly I needed to get some of this weight off of me. He also told me I had to walk at least 30 minutes everyday to strenghen the muscles in my lower back. I started walking a week after my surgery and about 4 weeks into recovery I decided to purchase the Alli pills and give them a try. I began the pills on August 3rd and I have lost down to 261. I am still walking and I have even picked up riding my bike around the neighborhood when I get home from work. Like you, I know it's going to be a long trip to get where we are going, but the key thing is, we will get there. Good luck and hope to hear from you.

    Re: 250+ Pounds Anyone?

    Nett,

That is so inspiring, you got up and started walking after that surgery and now look at you. I have RA and it hurts to do a lot of walking, but I am going to start doing some. I like to dance with Richard Simmons, shame I can't keep up with them. LOL

I hope all of us stays with this to the end of our weight goals. The support here is fantastic. I know all of you are scattered all over the place, but it feels like you are close. Only an email away. I truly think that is part of the success of this program. We didn't just go to a dr and get a prescription and go home to do it alone. We have access to all the Alli staff and others going through the exact same thing we are facing. So, if I feel the need to eat, all I have to do is come on here and read about someones great day and suddenly I am back on track.

    Re: 250+ Pounds Anyone?

    Hey Everyone,

I am starting alli tomorrow.  Prior to starting, I lost 12 pounds without the aid of alli.  My doctor put me on diabetes and high cholesterol meds 3 months ago.  That is one of two things that I refuse to be burdened with regards to my health.  I went back to my doctor and my cholesterol and blood sugar was low enough that my doctor said that I could go off the meds.  I have to go back in 3 months to follow up.  I'm going to see a nutritionist as recommended by my doctor in a few weeks as well.  See what it is that they have to say and if it increases my weight loss.  I have gone back to working out and lifting weights at least 5 days a week.  It sounds like a lot, but I keep my cardio workouts to 30 minutes with the focus on calories burned (at least 300 a day) instead of time spent.  I plan to lose 120bs and would like to have lost a least 40 to 50lbs by christmas.  I know that it may seem like an extreme goal, but I'm sure that I can do it if I continue at my current pace.  I'll be back.  I'm not easily discouraged, but I'm sure that I'll have something in which I'll need to check and see if anyone else is going or has gone through the same experience  just see what happened in the end and what I have to look forward to down the line.
