Yes---another question on Fat and Calorie consumption

I lowered my physical activity to get lower calorie/fat numbers because I like a lot of other people were having trouble getting up to the 1800 Cal/19 Fat grams a day.  Before this...I typically ate low fat.  When I changed my activity level these are now the revised numbers I was given: 1400 Cal /  42 Fat grams.  This broke down to Breakfast and Lunch 300 Cal/9 Fat gramsDinner     600 Cal/18 Fat gramsSnack 1 + 2    100 Cal/3 Fat grams

My question now is----everything I seem to be reading in these various posts state not to go below 1600 Cal and 15grams of fat, and not to take the pill if your meal is low fat.  To me, I think 9 grams or less constitutes low fat.  Are these new totals I was given ( which I am much more able to reach ) enough to take Alli and lose weight ??   I just started Alli on Sat 7-14 and I have not lost anything yet.  I do exercise 5 days a week for normally 1 hr a day walking about 2 miles and going to Curves.  I don’t want to start this off wrong, but don’t know how else to get in the high amount  ( for me anyway ) of the calories and fat that were given to me at the start.  I do want to continue to take Alli (  since have seen so many other postive results ) even though I have not seen any weight loss yet.

    Any suggestions???

    Thanks..

    Mary

Re: Yes---another question on Fat and Calorie consumption

    Hi Mary,

alli will provide the fat-blocking benefits, even when you are eating a low fat meal.  The alli meal plan is designed just for you once you enter your personal information and that is why is different from the averages listed with the general information.  Therefore, if you feel comfortable (not super hungry in between meals), with your new reduced plan, keep the plan going.  However, if you feel very hungry after your hour workout (like me) or in between meals, try to eat what I call a "pick me up food" =- a carbohydrate with a protein.  For example:

1 banana or 1 apple with 2 teaspoons peanut butter (my favorite)

Low fat crackers and low fat cheese

    8 oz. skim milk

    1 low fat cheese stick

8 oz fruited low fat yogurt.

Note - if you are loosing more than 3 pounds per week, you may need to add a snack so your weight loss is safe and steady.

    Hope this helps!

Re: Yes---another question on Fat and Calorie consumption

We try to answer the questions within 24 to 48 hours.  However, because the large number of questions we are receiving (which is fantastic!), sometimes it may take us a few more days.  Sorry for the inconvenience...but we really care and want to provide you with a personal answer.

Re: Yes---another question on Fat and Calorie consumption--for Sylvia Melendez-Klinger

I can see that you are swamped with questions, and I do appreciate your response.  I just want to make sure I am getting the most out of Alli that I can.  My 1st check in is tomorrow, so I am anxious to see what I have done.  I am not sure I have lost anything, but I do "feel better"and I have had none of the dreaded  "TE's".  And I must admit....I have not a problem getting my 1400 Calories in this past 7 days, so as the days have progressed I have found it easier to get in what I need.  I am going to continue on the lesser calorie plan and see how that works for me.

    Thanks again for your response!!!

    Mary
