    Anyone more irritable?

Hi all! Ok I know everyone has been having their own little "issues" with Alli, but I have been finding myself to be more irritable than i normally am. I take 450mgs of welbutrin every morning because I seem to have some pretty nasty PMS symptoms. Like the emotional crying, the mood swings. After starting Alli, I seem to have less control over my emotions. Is it just me? Or does Alli effect my "grumpy pill"? Quite honestly I hate being so short tempered with the kids and my husband, but if I can get a grip on it all... it will be well worth it in the end.

    Re: Anyone more irritable?

I didn't feel irritable until I read the message from the person who has lost 30 pounds her first month.  I've lost 5.  Grrrrrrrrr....

I'm more irritable than normal, but I haven't been able to decide if it's because of the alli or the things going on in my life.

Don't feel bad about losing 5 pounds - 5 pounds is awesome.

You should post your question on the board about perscriptions etc.  It is possible that you cannot take them at the same time.

I also take Wellbutrin .  Wellbutrin in general makes me more irritable but I have noticed an increase in irritability since starting Alli.

    Re: Anyone more irritable?

maybe you should check with your doctor to find out the best time to take your "grumpy pill".  As they say to take the vitamin at night because the alli pill may remove certain nutrients in its quest to remove some fat, maybe it's the same for other things too.  best of luck!

    Re: Anyone more irritable?

I'm actually finding the opposite of this.  However, I think it may be because I'm happy I made the decision to take care of myself.  I'm on Lexapro (an antidepressant) and have been able to start tapering off since starting Alli.  I'm at half my pre-Alli dose.

    Re: Anyone more irritable?

Feeling hungry as my metabolism adjusts to a lower caloric intake is making me irritable. Having rules and consiquences at every meal is frustrating, and the perpetual self-control is draining. But hopefully I'll get used to this new lifestyle, because the long term benefits of dieting are far more gratifying than the fleeting satisfaction of 'more than 15 grams a meal'.

    Re: Anyone more irritable?

    Hi Trkinney,

If you have any questions about medication interactions you need to post this on the board for the pharmacist and/or speak with your physician.

The changes to your diet can affect your mood. If you have cut back on caffeine, sugar, or starch your mood can be effected by that. Take a look at your food records and make sure that you are not going over 4 to 6 hours without eating, that you are having fruit for some sugar in your diet and have not drastically reduced your intake of caffeine.

Let us know what works for you,

    Hi Mibochloe,

This could be nothing, but only your doctor can determine this. It is not safe to use this board to make medical diagnoses. Give your doctor a call and let us know what happens.

It would probably be a good idea to consult your doctor about the problems you are having. Congrats on the weight loss.
