    Re: AAA's

    Sunday, 10:45 am

    Good morning girls, just finished a big, but fairly healthy breakfast, egg beaters, peppers & onions, and potatos all scrambled together to make my egg dish called Eggs Wilma (named after our invention we came up with after hurricane Wilma.)  We had to cook all our meals on our grill for about a week, and making things in one pan was the easiest thing we could do.  I think back, now, and smile thinking about no power (we did have water, thank goodness), but everything had to be boiled before drinking or washing or cooking.  Boiling water on a propane grill took forever, so we always had a pot on.  It's funny how certain activities trigger past memories.  I was thinking about going to the stores to look for "fresh" food and had to make half a dozen stops at places to find something that wasn't in a box or a can.  Most of the stores didn't power either, so there was no refrigerated items of any kind.  As for ice, we waited in lines to get a couple bags of ice each day.  Wierd, I haven't thought about that in a while.  I guess we should always count our blessings for the comforts of modern living.  Although, fun for a couple of days, but in southern Florida in September, that fun only lasts for a few hours.  LOL

    Dana, sounds like you have a great/relaxing/busy weekend planned.  You deserve to have a break, "Angel".  I read John's blog and he really does have a wonderful person in you.  Sounds like he will be coming home in a week or so.  Will that mean, no apartment rental?  And how often will he have to return for treatment?  Oh & Dana, don't ever think that we aren't going to be here for you.  We have become friends through Alli, but we can stay friends even if you aren't on the plan now.  Please come back regularly, as possible, to talk with us.  We will miss you otherwise!!

    Carol Joy, glad Jon came home safe & sound.  Sounds like a wonderful gift he brought you.  You are an angel to fix him those wonderful meals, and you still aren't eating meat, right?

    Today, we haven't had any rain yet.  We have had so much rain the past couple of weeks, I beginning to think we live in the northwest and not the Sunshine State.  LOL  We always need rain, but not to the extent that we have had lately.  My yard is actually turning green from grass and not just weeds.

    Jon & I haven't decided what we are doing today, we should do something, at least while the weather is nice.

    Dana & Carol Joy, I hope you both have a wonderful day and I'll check back later.

    Love ya,

    Carol

    Re: AAA's

     Hey girls,

    I am still home and have had a good break.  I saw a lot of friends and got in a lot of exercise.  We did seven miles at training yesterday and then I went to Bodyflow.  Today I hiked one of our local peaks with some of my girlfriends.  A good two hour hike with steep uphills.  I feel more relaxed and should sleep well tonight for a change.  Looks like John will be coming home with me on Friday, which sounds like a good thing but what it really means is they haven't found a donor yet so they aren't able to go into the transplant prep yet.  The process is taking longer than we thought.  Our insurance company was dragging their feet and John's siblings didn't quite get things done as quickly as we'd hoped either.  Disappointing, but I know John is looking forward to a break from the hospital here at home.  This doesn't mean we won't be getting a place up there, it just means it has been postponed.  He will have daily visits to the hospital for a couple of months at least.  There are only two places that do the BMT here in CA as far as I know and Stanford is the closest and one of the best in the country so we will do whatever we need to do.

    Carol, what interesting memories of Wilma.  That must have been a very stressful time too.  I've never been in a situation like that.  Sounds like you guys made the best of it.  I love the Eggs Wilma.   I would love some rain here but it is dry, dry, dry!   Normal for us for this time of year.  When we lived back east I just loved those summer showers.

    CJ, you and your hubby must be making up for lost time.  I know you missed him and am glad he's back.  That is a trip John would love to do and hopefully we will some day.  I loved the Bunco Babes on the card.  That is what we call ourselves.  Last night's game night was with some of the Bunco Babes.  It was great to see them.  As to the bad pedi, that's exactly what I was thinking, I could do a better job myself!  I just felt badly for that woman because she was older and probably doesn't have many choices about where she can work.  Sigh.. I'm so grateful not to be in a position like that.

    I may not be able to check in until next weekend so have a wonderful week.

    Hugs,

    D.

    Re: AAA's

    Wednesday, 7:45 am

    Good morning girls!  Dana it's great to hear from you and to  hear you had a good weekend!!  I'm so glad John will be coming home for a while, sorry to hear about the problem with the donor though.  I'll keep thinking and praying a suitable donor will be found soon!!!

    Just got off the phone with Carol Joy, and she wanted me to tell you that she is thinking about you, too.  She is having more computer problems again and will be out of commission for a short while.

    Today, we aren't sailing today, not because of the weather, but the Salty Sisters usually have an annual summer pool party/pot luck lunch and that's today!!  I am going to go to Curves before going and maybe get in some swimming later.  As for lunch, pot lucks can be so iffy as to what is being served, so I think I'll eat a LC before going so I won't be hungry and just pick at, hopefully, something healthy.

    Something really cool happened a few days ago (actually last weekend).  I signed up for (not sure if I can say the name, so I'll describe it) the website that hooks you up with your old school.  And a gal emailed me on Friday and wondered if I was the same person she remembered and I was!!  We hooked up by email, talked about what we each did, and when I told her I do taxes, she was soooo excited.  She is one of those folks that procrastinated and was in dired need of getting them done for her son's college financial forms.  So, we got together yesterday and talked and talked and talked for over 2 1/2 hours.  It was great!  I have been so out of touch with everyone from school, since we moved around a lot (Jon's job), it was great to catch up.  And the most bizzare thing is, she only lives about a mile from me.  I found out my HS class is having a reunion in October and have signed up for it.  Oh and she brought our senior yearbook with her and what a dorky picture of me!!!   Jon saw it last night and I was having a hard time getting him to stop laughing. LOL   I did remind him of the pics we have of him back in the early 70's.  Anyway, I'm going to do her taxes and we will get together again next week.

    Just looked at the time, so I'd better be off.  Talk to you all later.

    Take care,

    Carol

    Re: AAA's

    Thursday, 8:40 am

    Hi AAA's.  I'm getting ready to head out for a walk and then I'm going to do some indoor weights with a DVD.  My walk won't be more than 2 miles because of the heat, but I'm still looking forward to it.  I went to Curves yesterday and did my "Smart" workout.  It was great.  According to the computer readout, I burned 630 calories.  I was really trying hard to burn a bunch, this young girl had just posted 788!!  She had a least 20 years on me, younger, of course!  LOL  I was thrilled with my 630 and my heart rate was between 130 & 142 the whole time.

    Carol Joy, I saw another challenge on the fitness site and it was involving walking for olympic medals that the US wins.  I'm going to intertwine that with our challenge to boost up my exercise (especially since that what I do best!)  There aren't many takers on it, but I might just follow it personally, gives me something else to strive for.  I've got to break this plateau I'm on!!!  And like you said, I do better walking, when I walk.

    Dana, hope things are going well with you.  Glad to hear that your neighbors have really chipped in and helped out your boys and pets.  I'm sure that really takes a load off your mind.  Carol Joy should be back in a couple of days, hopefully, after her computer/router gets back up and running.

    Well, I guess I'd better be off before it gets too hot.  Talk to you girls later, or myself.  LOL LOL

    Take care,

    Carol

    Re: AAA's

     Hi Girls!  We are home, not sure for how long but I know John is glad to be here.

    Carol Joy, sorry to hear about your 'puter problems.  Hope you're back online soon.  Miss you!

    Carol, how great to reconnect with your old HS friend.  I'm glad you signed up for your reunion.  Dispite the bad rap reunions get, I have always enjoyed mine.  We have one coming up next year I think.  Good for you with your exercise challenges.  I have been getting my walking in but have been stress eating. Gee, wonder why?

    We have a training on Saturday and I think it's ten miles this time.  I need to get a good night's sleep or I'm not going to make it.  I have been averaging about five hours a night, even with meds.  I am pretty short fused these days.  II never know whether I'm going to bite someone's head off or burst into tears.  It's delightful.  Arghhh....  It'll be good to be back in my own bed tonight.

    Talk to you over the weekend.

    Hugs,

    D.

    Re: AAA's

    Happy Saturday girls!!!

    It's raining again this morning.  We are in a wierd pattern and guess what?!  We are going to have a "cold" front come by tonight!!  The temps are going to drop from low 90's to the mid 80's, wow!!  LOL  I guess that's why so much rain.  The worst part is, the rain is coming in small batches.  One minute the sun is shinning with thunder in the background, the next it is pouring.  I really do like the "normal" afternoon showers, hopefully they'll be back next week.

    Dana, I'm glad you and John are home for a while.  Have you heard anything about a donor yet?  How soon after you hear, will he have to go back for the next stage of chemo?  How are the boys?  With the neighbors helping, I hope things have been a little more back to normal.

    I can't believe you are up to 10 miles of jogging!  Wow!  That is wonderful, I can't even jog 100 yards or maybe it is feet.  I've never been a jogger or runner, even back in my younger days.  Now walking, that I can do.

    Carol Joy, I guess your computer is still among the injured.  Hope it gets better soon.  I miss you.

    I weighed yesterday and FINALLY am down a 1/2 pound.  I guess the plateau is disappearing, I hope!!  After I gained those couple of pounds, I have been thinking they were going to be permanent.  Hopefully, next Friday, I drop again.  The next week after that is our week that we will be going to Vegas.  Don't know what kind of computer access I'll have, I am not taking my laptop.  We are not taking a lot of baggage with us, Jon refuses to pay those extra fees for checked bags.  So everything we take will be in our carryons.  Can't wait to see how that will work.  Thank goodness for silk shirts, shorts and capris, they all pack in tight places.  I am sooooo excited about going to Vegas, we've never been there and it has been a long, long time since we went on an adventure like this.  Don't get me wrong, I love cruising, but this will so different for us, that I'm actually nervous about doing something different.  Strange, huh?  LOL

    Well, I'm off to do a little (very little) housework, and since it is a rainy-lazy kind of day, I think I will read a good book later.

    Take care both of you and talk to you later.

    Carol

    Re: AAA's

     OK it was eight miles today, not ten.  And who said anything about jogging, Carol?  No, no, no, no, no!  I walk eight minutes and if I'm lucky, I'll jog one.  Mostly I just walk.  There are a couple of other gals on the team that go at my pace exactly so that makes the time pass quickly.  Today was about two hours and twenty minutes which is about about a 17 minute mile I think.  I think I can get it down to a comfortable 15 minute mile by race day.

    John actually walked the whole eight miles with us today.  He is really quite amazing.  There was another woman there too who had just finished chemo.  Those of us who are healthy don't feel like we can grip about sore knees or blisters with that kind of example of stamina walking next to us.

    Carol, huge congrats on your half a pound.  It may not be much on the scale but I know it is huge mentally.  Good for you!  I am so jealous of Vegas!  John and I used to go about twice a year and we always have a blast.   I love the big indoor malls that look like exotic places.  My favorites are Desert Passage (which I think they may have changed now) and the Venetian with its canals and gondolas.  The Bellagio fountains are a great free show too.  Have fun!!

    We will be heading back to Stanford next week. John has doctor appointments on Tuesday and Thursday.  (They couldn't have at least made them Tuesday and Wednesday?)  We will have our first meeting with the transplant doc.  No word yet on a donor.  We hope they will have some good news for us.  He will start back on chemo immediately when we get the word.  Then things will move quickly.  I've decided to send my youngest to live with my sister when we get underway.  She is five minutes from us and only about three blocks from his high school.  Her girls are both out of the house now and she has plenty of room.  He can even have his dog there.  We have just decided that he still needs a family around him.  Especially at a time like this.  His older brother is used to being on his own after two years of college and will be fine.  Things are starting to fall into place.  We have found a very nice condo complex that transplant patients often use, just about 15 minutes from the hospital.  They have a beautiful pool, and a nice gym, and a clubhouse.  They are two and three bedrooms, nicely furnished, and even have optional daily housekeeping which I may just take advantage of.  And... they have internet access all set up!  We will be able to keep in touch and John will be able to blog.  Very important.  I am feeling better about being able to manage this all.

    Well my dears, I hope you enjoy your weekend.  Carol Joy, we miss you and hope you get your computer problems sorted out soon.  This simply won't do!

    Hugs,

    D.

    Re: AAA's

    Sunday evening

    Hi girls.  Wow Dana, you had me worried that you were jogging the whole 8-10 miles!!!  I was beginning to think that you are a superwoman.  But I guess John is a superman to make the whole 8 miles with you.  I'm impressed.  Tell him I said he is great!

    Glad to hear that your son will be well taken care of while you are away.  I know that will be a great load off your mind.  You just don't need anything else to stress you out.  Sounds like the place you've pick out is nice.  And I would enjoy the daily housekeeping, too.  So I guess they have short term contracts for people who are recovering or undergoing chem and other things.  That is great!

    Today, Jon & I didn't do a whole lot except watch the PGA golf tournament and the NASCAR race.  We spent the whole day lounging around flipping back and forth from channel to another.  Both ended up pretty exciting.  Dinner was light and I'm planning on reading up on the news on the computer and then hitting the sack early.  I did so much today, I'm exhausted!  LOL  The only thing I did do was a 30 minute walk this morning.  Tomorrow I'm planning on a nice long walk, about an hour, and back on the L.C. for lunch.

    Are you girls watching the olympics?  Last night I was wide awake about 4ish and turned on the Equestrian dressage and it put me back to sleep pretty quickly.  Watching women ride horses around a square and back & forth is kind of boring.  The horses were beautiful, but after the 3rd one......... well, anyway I went back to sleep.

    I did watched a soccer match this morning with the US and they tied the team they played.  It was pretty exciting.  I do like to watch the gymnastics, but not sure what the schedule will be.  This year I thought I would be interested in the sailing events, but found out none of them will be televised at all.  Bummer!!  I have found a site where there are photos so not all is lost.

    Carol Joy, I hope you are having some luck with your computer.  I suppose you weren't able to get service until probably the first of the week.  We all miss you!!!  Come back soon.

    Take care and I'll be back tomorrow.

    Carol

    Re: AAA's

    Monday 2:30pm!! I'm back on line!!!!

    This is a copy/paste explanation of the stupid computer issue:

    I reached the office of the IT tech repair man I use and hopefully he'll collect his message before he arrives; if not, I'll be charged $50 for a trip charge!!  He is pretty cool and we've used him atleast 5 times this year as my computer is ready to hit the big tech-graveyard in the sky any minute now!! Apparently, my husband sent an email at AT&T reporting he could not send any email to either of our home computers from his office computer. So they decided to close our accounts and re-establish NEW accounts ONCE he accessed them and gave the 'ok'....well he was out of the office for 3 days and never got his email until he checked his computer. So he got his all set up this past Friday night, but mine wouldn't connect! I guess once I shut it down, it re-booted and when I turned it on today, POOF!!! Internet access!!!!!!!!!!!!

    ~~~I posted that on the challenge thread, just wanted Dana to understand what was up as well!
    Now....it is SO good to be in touch again!! I have missed you both and felt so out of touch AND lonely!! Kinda weird how close I feel to you both even though we've yet to meet! I consider you sisters, in MORE than just weight-loss!
    It was a busy week for me as it sounded like it was for the both of you. Dana, gosh I cannot imagine how many different feeling you must experience in a day! I too am happy John can get a break from the hospital and be in comfort in his own home. The donor will show up when the time is just right; you must trust that the universe will reveal a path when it is time to step on it. Now that I can access the intenet, I will have to read Johns' blog. Carol told me how moving it was for her. Please tell your sweetie that he is in my best thoughts and I continue to devote about every other yoga class practice in honor of him and his healing. When I feel weak or just want to let-go of an awfully hard pose, I picture him and I 'hold-on' longer for his honor. I do my practice for him, that takes my ego out and directs my intention toward his well-being. Amazing how much more one is capable of if they do it for someone besides themselves!
    It sounds like you are gone this week for meeting on Tues and Thurs, so you'll probably read this post and the following next weekend. The condo sounds like just the thing for you to be at once John gets scheduled for the transplant. How nice to have facilities to work out in as well! And BIG kudos on your recent VERY long walks!! Glad to hear you still on are pace for the race!
    It appears my trip in September is postponed, possibly to October or even November. There are BIG issues with the company Jon works for. Like many Michigan business owners, they are hanging on by a string and a prayer. He feels very vulnerable AND a big office building he owns in Ann Arbor is up for lease renewal in October. The current business has yet to give an indication if they will re-up. If he loses that rent, that takes a BIG BIG BIG chunk out of our monthly earnings. The end of the story is, it is time to be cautious until we know if there is security in the leasee for the next 5yr contract. This building purchase and rerenting has been very lucrative for us. The loss of the current renter will more than likely result in the building sitting empty for QUITE some time. It is 35,000 sq ft and so many buildings for rent are empty these days. To rent one out that big takes a fairly large company. In Michigan, those companies are leaving.
    We may be in for some challenging times financially. I tried to imagine my life without the following; montlhy haircut and color, bi-montlhy mani-pedi, bi-monthly massages, 4 times a year Botox and Restylane, etc etc etc....I may never be able to leave the house again!! lol! No cut-backs as of yet, but the trip is just "on-hold" for now. I guess that gives you and I even more time to morph into our MOST beautiful selves!! And who knows...maybe it's happening because Carol was unable to meet us too??
    Carol...PER your request, I gave you a "talkin-to" on thr challenge site to move your rear into gear!! I find with myself if I go slack for a day or two, it is easy to snowball into complacency with weight-loss. GOOD job on your 1/2 lb loss though! Since I couldn't check in on the 6th, I never weighed myself last week. Avoidance: I had some of Jon's birthday cake and although it was FAB (homemade by me: 3 layer German Chocolate from scratch which took me 4 hrs!!) it was SO good going down, but the sugar and flour made me feel heavy. lethargic and BLOATED!! I learned fruit is better as my sweet treat!
    We had a lovely 31st anniversary on Jon's 51st birthday! He was happily surprised by his at-home 1.5hr massage and he loved his gifts and dinner as well. We were too pooped for romance however!! We decided the cake was more important..lol!
    We have had BIZARRE weather here for 3 days! In the low 50's-low 60's!! This is August in Michigan- we should be at high 80s and hunmid! This darn global warming is messing everything up!!
    Are you both ready for obama to be our next president?? It appears that way doesn't it? Jon and I will both be voting Libertarian as we are not fond of either prosepect in the 2 big parties. With our hip-hop, thug Detroit mayor here is Michigan and the lame govenor doing nothing about him bilking the city of $8 milliom. we have become very apathetic about politics.
    Well it is time for me to do something around this house! Had my MIL over for a very fancy meal last night. She leaves in 2 weeks to relocate! I will rest much easier then!! I need to finally clean up the many dishes and get the last load of laundry done. I had clients to train this morning as well as my cardio to do.
    So nice to be back on the board again! Love to you both..
    Carol Joy
    p.s. I only took my Alli at 14 out of 21 meals last week...I doubt I'll see a loss and I actually feel bigger in my tummy- no doubt the little bits of cake I had over 3 days!! I'm back on track this week!!
    Height: 5'8"
    Pre-Alli: 182lbs
    Alli SW: 180lbs
    Alli CW: 161lbs
    My GW: 152lbs
    Re: AAA's
    Saturday, 4:30 pm
    Hi girls, I guess I'm not the only one away from the threads for a few days.  I was sooooo busy this week.  Lots of things were happening, all good, some taxes, some other client work, starting my church audit, Salties, and did I tell you I joined a singing group at the Y.C.?  It is called the Nauti-Cats.  All women and all Salties.  We had a couple of practices this week preparing for 5 gigs coming up in September.  The group sings mostly show tunes and we sing for non-profit orgainzations.  They have been around for a couple of years and so far it has been a lot of fun.
    I have also been to Curves a few times this week and got in some walking between rain showers in the mornings.  I don't know if you girls watch the hurricane events, but we have T.S. soon to become hurricane Fay coming our way.  Jon & I are little nervous about leaving the house during this time, while we are in Vegas.  This morning the weather people had a direct hit on us by Tuesday morning, but now it seems to be drifting inland a bit.  I hope it does go that route, and stay out of the Gulf so it won't strengthen in something more fomidable.  Jon arranged with our friend (Mike) to come by and check the house, before and after, just in case.
    I am still very excited about the Vegas trip, it is getting real close.  Don't know what kind of computer access I'll have, so if I don't report in next week, that will be the reason.  I'm not taking my laptop, so I'll have to depend on the computer center at the hotel.
    Dana, how is everything going?  Any news on donors yet?  I haven't been on John's blogs for a few days, so I am behind on his status.  How are your boys, doesn't one start back to school pretty soon?  I know you said you were taking a leave of absence from teaching, will you be able to start back after the first of the year?
    Carol Joy, what have you been up to.  The last post I see from you is the one to did after your computer problems.  Are you still having issues?  I hope not, I know that was driving you crazy.  How is your yoga going?
    Well, I am off to start dinner, we are having pasta tonight.  We are trying not to have anything that will end up as leftovers.  I hate having a bunch of stuff in the refrigerator when I'm out of town.
    Take care girls and I will check back in tomorrow.
     Hi Girls,
    Wow, it has been weirdly quiet on the thread.  I have been thrown into school.  We start Monday.  I am going back to work full time in light of the loss of John's salary and our new expenses.  Unfortunately I had packed up my room thinking I was moving to a different position.  I've had some very long days but am almost ready.  We move up to Stanford on the 7th and a long term sub will take my place so I am trying to get things organized for her, and here at home too.  I want to respond to both of you personally and hope to get the time tonight.  Till then, thinking of you both.
    Hugs,
    Dana
    Re: AAA's
     Well, it has been a quiet month on the AAA thread.  I hope all is well and you guys are just busy.  We had our first day of school today and it went well!  I have a lovely class this year!  Hooray!  It has actually been really good to throw myself into work this last couple of weeks and just not think about all the scariness coming up.
    John's sister flies out on the 9th to begin the donor process.  She'll be here two weeks.  Transplant day is September 30.  We move up there next weekend and John will start killer chemo, and I mean killer literally.  Scary stuff.  We hope to be back by Christmas and yes, I will go back to teaching when we get back if all goes well.  John is enjoying his last few days of feeling good.  Spending time with friends and out in nature.  I'm glad he is having fun since I am spending ten hour days in my classroom!
    Carol, I'm not sure when your trip to Vegas is, sounds like you may be there now  Have a wonderful time and put a quarter in the I Dream of Jeanie slots for me.  Jeannie has been good to me.  I also won almost $500 on the quarter Wheel of Fortune once!  I hope the weather won't be too hot. It's fun to walk the strip and just see the sights.  It's easy to put in five or six miles without even realizing it!  I haven't seen the news in a few days.  Hoping that hurricane fizzled out and all is well.
    OK, Miss Carol Joy.  I checked and you have posted twice in the last month.  I know you had 'puter problems but sheesh!  I am so disappointed that you won't be coming out here after all but I totally understand.  If John hadn't gotten ill and had to resign, he was next on his own list of lay offs.  The building business is slow out here, as it is everywhere and his firm was feeling the pinch.  You are smart to tighten your belts a bit, just in case, but let's hope a change of administration will turn things around.  And yes, it'd be great to have a AAA reunion with all the A's there!  Let's work towards that!
    Thinking of you guys.  Hope to hear from you soon.
    Hugs,
    D.
    Re: AAA's
    Friday, 10:15 am
    Hi girls...... I'm back!!  Dana, I am so happy for John!  Thanks for the update on his transplant info.   I guess you will be moving up to Sanford for a while.  Keep in touch.
    Carol Joy, where have you been?  Where are you??  I guess I'm going to have to give you a call to check up on you.
    We did go to Vegas and after both a scary experience landing and one almost taking off, we finally made it back home on Monday, 2 days late.  When we flew from Tampa to L.V., about 30 minutes before landing the pilot came on and told us we had a "small" problem.  To me any problem on a plane is NOT small!!  Apparently, we lost one of 3 hydraulic systems.  The front end steerage.  So, when we landed we sort of fish-tailed down the runway, using the rudder for steering, and of course, we had many emergency vehicles following up to the end of the runway.  (a normal procedure for an emergency landing)  Then we had to be towed to the terminal.  Needless to say we all cheered when the plane finally stopped.
    Leaving wasn't much better.  We were supposed to take the red-eye on Friday night back to Tampa.  First, the plane was 30 minutes late leaving the terminal, then after taxiing out, we sat for over 30 minutes and the pilot told us we had a computer problem and had to go back to have a new one put in.  That took almost 45 minutes, then out we went again and sat for another 25-30 minutes, and guess what, the first computer took out another computer.  Back to the terminal we went to have maintenance come aboard and fix that problem.  Another 45 minutes.  Then, the pilot said, we are fixed and off we go.  Out to the runway we taxied and we started speeding towards takeoff, and just before the nose lifted off, the plane powered down.  The pilot had to slam on the brakes, people were screaming and I had to dig the woman next to me nails out of my thigh after we stopped.  So after taxiing back to the terminal, there was confusion, and everyone litterally ran off the plane (as best as they could).  That took about 4 1/2 hours.  So another 1 1/2 in the terminal trying to get new flights and we were totally done!!  Since we had a late flight, we opted to pay for our hotel room for that night, so we had a place to go back to at 4:o0 in the morning.  Grabbed a taxi and went back to the casino to drink!!  Felt very lucky/blessed we hadn't crashed, so I played Black Jack and won some money.  We ended up staying until Monday morning to fly out.  So the trip cost us a bit more money, but we enjoyed the weekend there.
    Monday's flight was totally uneventful and was I glad we made it home.  I told Jon, if there was one hint of a problem, we were going to rent a car and drive.  LOL
    I didn't do well eating the last 2 weeks, in fact, I gained some weight.  I am not happy about that.  I did walk a lot in Vegas, about 35 miles total. (took my pedometer).  Next week I HAVE to get serious again.  I don't want to gain all my weight back again, I got rid of all my "fat" clothes.
    I really do miss all of our daily talks, girls.  I hope we can get back into the swing of things again.  I really do miss the support.  I know everyone has had some major issues, but I think this is the time we need to stick together.
    Well, I off to do some household chores and run some errands.   So, I'll check back tomorrow to see if anything is happening.
    Love ya girls,
    Carol
