    I feel so confused

Hi there i am new to the board. I have alot of questions. Hopefully they can be answered.

I have at least 60 lbs to loose.

When i first saw that alli  was coming out, i was instantly curious. Especially with the fact that it was fda approved. I liked that.

Now i'm hearing all kid of things and i'm getting nervous and wondering if this is going to effect me.

!.I'm hearing about the treament effects and that's one of the things that is keeping me from puchasing and starting this.

    2. What about dessert after dinner?  Is that allowed? I have the occasinal sweet tooth.

I've tried everything and nothing seems to work.

    Thanks for the response,

    Marti

    Re: I feel so confused

Hi Marti! Welcome to the board. Ok, so I have been on Alli for two weeks today and have not had any of the treatment effects. I have gone to a birthday party, and had a a little more than a sliver of cake.....no side efftects. My family and I have fixed meals from the Alli meal plan, and made up some of our own....no side effects. You just have to be aware of what you're eating and how much of it you are eating. If you choose to go overboard, there will be consequences. For me, especially during the summer, cold fresh fruit is very refreshing. Like you, I have a sweet tooth, mine is just ridiculous, especially around that time of the month...I crave chocolate, however, I have statisfied that craving with the occasional diet Pepsi Jazz. I have only had 3 of them in the past two weeks, but it seems to work for me personally. I hope I have helped answer some of your questions. I went into this saying....nothing lost, nothing gained. Alli is by far a miracle pill, you'll have to work at eating healthy, working out, etc., but it will be worth it in the end =D

    Best of Luck to you!

    Re: I feel so confused

If you follow the nutrion guides Alli provides you should avoid treatment effects.  In just under a month and a half I've only had 2 TEs.  The first one I just wasn't thinking and the second one I expected ^^.  Both times I was able to get to a restroom and only required an extra flush and a little more tp than I usually use.

As for desserts it depends on what you crave.  I've found the following satisfy my sweet tooth:

    • Slim-a-Bear 100 Calorie Ice Cream Bars
    • Healthy Choice Caramel Ice Cream Bars
    • Healthy Shoice Sorbet Bars
    • Weight Watchers English Toffee / Chocolate Pops
    • Ben & Jerry's Low Fat Cherry Garcia
    • Ben & Jerry's Sorbets
    • Hostess Light Twinkies
    • Hostess Light Crumb Cakes

I also eat a lot more fruit: blueberries, cranberries, strawberries, raspberries, bananas.  For the berries I'll mix them with a serving or two of Light / Fat Free Whipping Cream.

    Best of luck to you.

    Re: I feel so confused

I've been of Alli for week and I love it. I haven't had any side effects but I know not to down an order of fries because of the effects it may have on my digestive system. I think the same could apply to you. You could have a bite, but if you eat an entire brownie sundae you could be in the bathroom. I ate out yesterday and had a great watermelon sorbet for dessert. I was so happy I bought some Ciao Bella sorbet from the store on the way home, it goes great with program approved angel food cake. I like the blood orange. Oh and how are you on here unless you purchased Alli? I thought you only had access after you registered? Well good luck and I hope I helped a little.

    Re: I feel so confused

    Marti37,

Yes you can have your dessert! I have a huge sweet tooth. I can even tell you which one it is. I like a fudge bar, only 90 cals and no fat or a skinny cow ice cream sandwich, still only 140 cals and 1.5 grams of fat. As long as you have the exchanges left over for your dessert. Take a look out there, there are so many 100 cal, lowfat snacks out there now. Some even taste like oreos, chips ahoy, and nutter butters. Just don't go crazy with them.

     Good Luck,  Julie in CA
