    Coffee

New to this ....Thinking of buying and beginning the program. Can you drink coffee with cream without the "effects" happening? I lost 30 pounds with a prescribed diet aid but it made me feel odd plus I had constipation issues. This sounds way safer....

    Re: Coffee

Use half and half.  It's only 20 calories 2 grams of fat per little creamer cup.   I use 2 of them every morning with my coffee.

    Re: Coffee

I remember Betty posting that there are no limits to caffeine in this plan.  Coffee is okay.

I'm a coffee junkie.  I'd sooner cut off my foot than give up my coffee. I drink the stuff all day and into the evening.  Coffee doesn't "aggitate" me.  In fact, if I'm tense, the smell of coffee, the soothing rich brown liquid, calms me, helps me relax...(Yeah, I'm an addict...)  I have a commercail Bunn coffee maker at home and I actually use my expresso machine.  The first thing I do in the morning is make the coffee at home, as soon as I get to work I make the coffee there!.

Cream, however, is brutal.  Have you read the carton?  Even 1/2 and 1/2 is pretty heavy on fat (2Tbs is 40 cals and 3 grams of fat).

I've switched to fat free non-dairy creamer (I don't recommend it, it's gross).  I'm willing to do that for THE CAUSE.  There are lo-fat creamers that aren't quite as disgusting, I think you should try one of those.  Ease into it if you have to (I did).  Maybe 1/2 cream, 1/2 creamer.  Get used to it, then work on cutting back the real stuff.  You'll still have your coffee.  That's what counts.

The biggest sacrifice for me was giving up my triple (yes, I always had at lease 3 shots) lattes. Can't figure how to justify the expense if it's not gonna taste right. When I go to the coffee shop these days I order dark roast, with a shot, and add my own creamer.

But, hey, if you can calcutate the cream into your plan (calorie and fat wise) go for it...

    Re: Coffee

I drink coffee with sweet and low, and either 2% or fat free milk.... and have continued to lose weight w/o any TE's for two weeks now. So, you should be fine. Good Luck!

    Re: Coffee

Don't suffer through your coffee! International Delights and other brands that sell those wonderful flavored creamers have several flavors that come in the fat free variety. Enjoy!

    Re: Coffee

Opt for the Fat Free cream - I don't think there's  a difference in the taste.
