Re: As you lose weight, what are you looking forward to?

    • Being healthy enough to chase after the kids I want to have.
    • Taking some weight off of my arthritic (at 27!) knees.
    • Being able to go up stairs or take a job without being out of breath, heart pounding.
    • Living longer.
    • Fitting into the clothes I already have, and not having to buy new ones.
    • FITTING ON THE TOILET SEAT!

Re: As you lose weight, what are you looking forward to?

I've struggled with my weight all my life - this time I'm ready to beat it for good and keep it off. For the first time in my life, I want:

    - To put my clothes on straight out of the dryer without having to do deep knee bends and stretch out my shirts to get them over my chest and stomach

    - To shop in the Juniors' department along with the rest of the girls my age

    - Have intimate moments with that special person without being self conscious and trying to hide my body under sheets and with the lights turned down.

-To look in the mirror and notice something besides my weight and stretch marks every time I glance at myself

    - Have the body and confidence to say "I look pretty darn good" in a room full of women at whom I presently would be insanely jealous of.

-Wear shorts. I haven't worn shorts in years.

    - Buy and wear cute lingerie from Victoria's Secret and not fear being looked at while shopping because of my size

    - Wear shorts to the gym without having them ride up my thighs and giving me thigh-burn.

    -Be HEALTHY

-get a boyfriend that admires me both physically and intellectually

    - Shop at Express

Ah, so much more. I'm SO ready for this lifestyle change!!! TODAY IS DAY 26 and I'm 8lbs lighter!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: As you lose weight, what are you looking forward to?

    1. Leather Pants

    2. La Perle Lingerie

    3. Italian Clothes

    4. Wearing 5" heels w/o feeling like I'm going to fall over.

    5. Wearing the above in a photo for my ex-hubbys xmas card, degree in one hand, flipping the bird with the other.

Ok so it's a little shallow (except that ex thing, I stand by that) I think I can live with that.

Re: As you lose weight, what are you looking forward to?

    • Feeling better about myself
    • Less pain in my knees
    • More stamina
    • and...LOOKING GOOD!!!

I'm 5' 9 with a 36" inseam (yes, my legs seem to start just below my chin...LOL). I'm also, for my size/weight, narrow-hipped (aka "flat-a~~~~"). For SOME reason, clothing designers think that almost ALL plus size woman are 5' 6, have no more than a 30" inseam, and have very large hips. HOWEVER, I see ultra-tall pants/jeans ALL the time in "regular" sizes.

Oh, to be able to toss a pair of jeans in the dryer and let them get bone-dry without having them be too short when finished...

    sigh.......................

Re: As you lose weight, what are you looking forward to?

I am a woman who was thin all her life, only gradually gaining weight over the past 3 years.  Too many people have made excuses for my weight gain, blaming it on medication that I take (I suffer from severe depression), making it easier to eat whatever I wanted and gaining more weight than any medication would cause.  What I look forward to most are the feelings that I have never experienced before, such as:

~not breathing so heavy that people look at me funny

~not having my knees ache all of the time

~my feet not swelling until my normal size 8's feel like the should be double-wides

~not having chest pains when I exert myself

~not having my skin feel so tight on my body that it feels like, if poked with a pin, I will fly around the room

Don't think that this is all that I look forward to, as I am as vain as the next girl, I would also like to be able to tuck in a shirt, zip my jeans, and... be the perfect size 8.

Thanks for taking the time to read this and I hope you all get what YOU look forward to!

Re: As you lose weight, what are you looking forward to?

I don't know that I ever really thought about this seriously.

I guess my real wake up call was earlier this year when I ordered new work shirts and found that XL was too tight. I had to go up to 2xl and stop tucking my shirts in.

My suits (all 44R) were getting too small, so I bought a 46R suit.

I started working out in May, and lost some serious inches around the waist. I started Alli on 29 June.

With the progress I have already made,  I can again wear my 44R suits, with room to spare. I now feel like I am swimming in my 2XL shirts I bought at the beginning of the year.

I got to the point that when I bent over to tie my shoes I was getting short of breath because of my belly being in the way.

    Not any more.

My wife told me this weekend she can actually touch her hands together when she reaches around me to hug me.

I guess I am hoping to get to the point where XL is too big and I can wear regular "large" clothing (hey, I'm not gonna go crazy with my goals).

I am hoping the next work pants I buy are 38's ... or maybe even 36s ... but that's been a long time ago.

Most of all, I hope to get my waist to hip ratio down so that I am not at an elevated risk for heart disease.

And I hope not to get "winded" or indigestion when my wife and I are having fun ... because of my belly.

I hope this is not too much to ask.

Re: As you lose weight, what are you looking forward to?

    Just living life!!!

I would not even care people did not notice that I lost alot of weight!  As long as I know then that is all that matters!

I am not taking this pill because I am unhappy with the way that I look and I have said that before in some on my posts.  I don't care any about looking like a model or being able to shop in the juniors section.  I am ME!  That is all that  I can be and I love me for who I am and I have someone that loves me too.  I am doing this because I am a 25 year old that has high blood pressure and high cholestreol and want to live to have kids and be old and all the good things in life!  I want to live to grow old with the person that I love, to get married to have babies...this might sound weird but to bury my parents.  Lord knows I don't want them to have to bury me!!

I hope that you all get what you are looking forward to!  Good luck to you all as always!

I'm looking forward to showing off my tattoos that were always covered up because of the fat around it.

    4.  Being healthy

    5. Not worrying about our overly critical family and friends pointing out that I look different then when they first knew me...
