    Re: Friday Check-In Group

Hi Michelle, my name is Sue and I'm 53 years old.  I've been taking Alli since March and I have lost 16 lbs.  I was a little discouraged at the beginning because at first I didn't lose anything, then I lost only 1/2 lb the second week.  By week three I lost 2 lbs, and have averaged 1-2 lbs every week since.  The treatment effects will only appear if you eat something really fatty (like a doughnut), or if you go over your allowable fat grams for the day.  I was having a really bad day about a month ago, and someone had brought doughnuts into the office - stress is one of my primary eating triggers, and before I knew it I had eaten one.  I had moderate treatment effects (mostly gas, some minor discharge) which cleared up the next day.  It really does keep you honest!  Overall I have had little or no treatment effects; it has become automatic for me to write down my calories and fat grams at every meal, and total everyting up in the evening.  I don't deprive myself of anything (except ice cream -too much fat) and have found several nonfat or low fat sweets as a dessert treat in the evening.  Angel food cake is really good, as are Italian ices (really good in the hot weather).  I'm a little frustrated with my Friday check-in because today, and last week, the website was down and I wasn't able to record my weight loss.  If it happens again next week, I'm going to change my check in day to Saturday!

Ohh the weight takes so long to come off I was 245 on Febuary 15th Today 214 goal weight is 160 lbs.I'm 5'6" large bone frame.I went shopping and got some 13/14 and 15/16 outfits to wear on my cruise I'm crossing my fingers I will fit into them.I seem not to lose it as fast as when I was in my 20's.I'm 40 now.I guess not dancing at night clubs makes the weight come off slower lol I would like to be at 175 or less by September 8th cruise date I'm on a 1000 colorie no more then 10 grams of fat per day.I'm just starting to fit into size 18 sure is nice not to buy plus size clothes.

    Re: Friday Check-In Group

Cheri.  Don't get discouraged.  You've lost 31 pounds!!!!!  That is amazing!  It feels like it is slow coming off.  Slow and steady wins the race.  Remember, it is more likely to stay off if you are taking your time and loosing it right.  Change habits and portion sizes.  I am finally healthy enough to exercise without feeling embarassed.  It has taken me a LONG time to get here but I am here.   I still have about 20 pounds left to loose but I am more committed today than I have been in a couple of months.  I had stopped taking Alli and stopped exercising for a couple of months.  I maintained the weight I had lost.  This proves to me that the program has worked.  I learned a better way of eating and appropriate portion sizes.  I have to make the committment and work harder to loose the rest of the weight.  I started back on Alli a couple of days ago and went back to the gym.  I lost a pound this week.  I should do better next week since it will be a full week on the program.

Here's to a successful weight loss week.  Hope everyone is having a great 4th of July weekend!!

    Re: Friday Check-In Group

Where is everyone?  I know I haven't posted in a couple of weeks but NOONE else has either.  Hope everyone is doing okay.  I'm still stuck at 153-156 pounds.  But I'm still plugging away.  Been home with my youngest child after surgery...always taking care of others and not having time to take care of myself.  Anyway, I am even more motivated to keep the weight off that I lost but I am also wanting to loose another 20 pounds.  I need your help to stay motivated and keep focused!!

Hope to hear from you all!

    Re: Friday Check-In Group

Hi everyone! I'm new to the Friday Check-In group and still pretty new to Alli. I started taking Alli on July 14th and so far, have gained 5 pounds! I was starting to get discouraged so I joined here and after reading on the message boards, I think I know what I'm doing wrong (not consuming enough fat) so basically I'm starting over today. I am currently 186 pounds at 5ft 1in. Ideally, I would like to lose 50 pounds by March 2009 because I hope to try getting pregnant then. Both of my pregnancies to date have been complicated by pre-eclampsia/high blood pressure (no doubt contributed to my obesity) so I hope to avoid that next time by being physically healthier and having healthier eating habits. Well, I look forward to following everyone elses journeys through weight loss :)

    Re: Friday Check-In Group

Hey TexasStartlet, you are going to have so much fun on your cruise.  I think you could continue your Alli while you are on your trip but I don't blame you for not wanting to risk the TE's.  The food on the ship is so wonderful...and plentiful!  Just try not to do what I did and eat EVERYTHING!!

Today is my 21st wedding anniversary!!  To be very honest, I feel like the smaller I get the more in love I am with my husband!!!  I just feel better and have more energy.  I truely look at him like a school girl having her first crush.

As far as my progress on my weight loss, right now I am on hiatis...that translates to poor will power and lack of time to get to the gym.  We have been working on some home improvement/repair projects around the house and it is taking up all my spare time.  You would think that all the physical labor would replace my gym time.  I'm afraid my diet has taken a tumble due to lack of time to prepair foods.  We have had a lot of fast food the last couple of weeks and I tend to over eat when I wait until I am starving to eat.  I am hoping to get back on track soon.

Hope everyone is having a great weight loss day!
