What have your meals been like?

For me, I've been on a low-fat low-calorie diet for 2 weeks prior to starting Alli.  Also bought a Bowflex and I already have an elpitical machine.  In the 2 weeks I lost 5 lbs.  Now we'll see what happens adding Alli.

For breakfast I usually do either a Slimfast Optima shake with 1 cup skim milk, 1/2 banana and 1 scoop powder.  Add some ice and blend it to a nice frothy shake.  It keeps me satisfied until about 30 min before lunch.  Sometimes I'll eat an apple for a snack with non-fat cheese.

Lunch  - tuna or turkey on whole wheat with non-fat cheese and mustard, a salad and a piece of fruit.

Snack - nonfat or lowfat yogurt

Dinner - WW entree or LC entree

    How about you?

Re: What have your meals been like?

I've been on on Lean Cuisine for two weeks now. I was skeptic about frozen dinners, since most of them taste like garbage lol. But I am very surprised with Lean Cuisine. They have some great selections that taste great! I also purchase a Bowflex treadclimber, and I have lost 5lbs. I purchased alot of fruits like bananas, pears, apples, and grapes to snack on. We will see. I am trying to lose 40-50 lbs.

I eat fresh food.  Stay away from processed food for many reasons, including sodium content which is a problem for obese folks.

Re: What have your meals been like?

I just started today, and I am useing the meal plan available to me online. So far, I'm loveing it!! I missed breakfast, but I had a BLT for lunch ( turkey bacon, light mayo, wheat bread, tomatoes, lettuce, and a slice of cheese), served with a bananna and a glass of skim milk. It was awsome!

Dinner was fried rice (brown rice, egg substitute, green onions, soy sauce, peanuts, kidney beans) with cottage cheese and pineapple for desert

My 2 snacks were 1) cottage cheese with picante sauce and 7 tortilla chips and 2) an apple

    Tomorrow I'm having:

Breakfast: shredded wheat, almods, yogurt, grapes and necterine,

Lunch: roast beef wrap (deli sliced roast beef, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, fat free italian dresing, wheat tortilla), peanut butter and celery, and for desert bananas, strawberry's, yogurt.

    Snack: dried apricots

    Dinner: bean and cheese burrito

    Snack: pita wedges with hummus

    Again, it's all VERY good!

Re: What have your meals been like?

    Hi Momto2bears,

I am big fan of frozen meals. I know that sodium is a concern but weight is a bigger concern. If you do not have a medical reason for needing to restrict your sodium intake, the weight loss that you get from using the frozen meals and soups will be more beneficial than restricting your sodium. I have had many clients with high blood pressure using frozen meals. Their weight loss brought their pressure down much faster than restricting their sodium would have. Of course, fresh foods are ideal, but not always practical for everyone. You may need to check with your physician if you are unsure of your health conditions. Good luck, Betty Kovacs, MS, RD
