    10 pounds reward

I've decided to reward myself for every 10 pounds I loose. I think this would be a good initiative to want  to loose weight and i know for other reasons also.I would not reward myself with food -------NO-----NO. Any other suggestions

    hey Pepper...

Great idea!  I've been thinking about rewards/celebrations also...

My husband agreed to send me to get an hour long massage at a spa for every 25 lbs I lose (I'm only 6lbs away from massage #1!).  Tonight I had a random reward of having to go buy a new pair of khaki shorts bc the old pairs are now too big and hanging off of me.

I'd love to hear any ideas you and our other fellow weight-loss buddies might have!

Ooh, good idea! I think I want to treat myself to a pedicure! I used to get them all the time, but stopped recently since money's been tight. What a great little reward (without breaking the bank or falling off the wagon!)

Good luck to you, I hope you reach your 10 lb mark soon!

    Re: 10 pounds reward

A reward is a great idea!  About 3 weeks ago (1 week after I started Alli), I bought an Hawaiian shirt/blouse on sale and swore I wouldn't wear it until my first goal: 10lbs.  Well, today was my 4 week weigh-in and I have lost  a total of 10 1/2 lbs.  So....tonght we went out and I wore my new blouse.  I knew what it meant and I was happy as a lark.  I don't know what my next reward will be, but I do know what the goal is.  I have a few weeks to decide.

Great Idea!!   Everyone should have some mini goals and rewards for reaching them.  It helps make this journey to less weight a lot more fun!!!

    Good luck to all!

    Carol

I'm just starting but my mother rewards herself wtih accessories... little earrings, rings, charms, etc... there is jewlery out there for ever price range... it always fits, and makes you feel good... i think it would work for me... another idea someone gave me is new panties... everyone needs those and sometimes they can make you feel sexy without anyone else knowing... just a thought

    Re: 10 pounds reward

When I have a really good day... like exercising double what I usually do, etc... I do a mask and bleach my teeth, do my nails and put on self tanner, you get the idea... for some reason this is like a reward for me.. makes me feel extra good the next day and more motivated to do it again.  I haven't hit my goal yet but I plan on rewarding myself with a mini 3 day cruise to show off my new body and have some fun with the girls. Good luck!

What I did was go buy new pants that fit me after 10lb's my jeans was falling off me! just one so I would have something that I look good in.  The First time I had them on everyone was telling me how good I was looking!  SO It was worth it!

    Re: 10 pounds reward

Oh great idea.  I have mine at every 10 pounds as well.  My first one is just 2 pounds away.

    - a new digital scale

    then - 2 new cd's ( l love music!)

    then - new undergarmets (blush)

then - a new workout outfit .... that will get me within 5 pound of my goal weight.  when I hit that I'm buying some new Levi's.  I love Levi's but they fit better at my ideal wt.

Our budget is small so I kept my rewards within reach.

sounds great. I just started this program last week.  I don't have a scale. i weigh in at SCORE once a month. will be happy to see the results.

I make and sell jewelry, so that's not an option for me.  I don't work. Getting my nails done is out, for the glue and such would ruin them.  I like the idea about shoes. or a size smaller pants.   I might make my incentive to get more gems  and stirling silver pieces which are too expensive for me.

    Re: 10 pounds reward

I made a chart of rewards for myself, I have small goal rewards and big goal rewards. Depending on the lb's lost the reward  is bigger or smaller.

Another thing I plan on doing ( and have done in the past) is placing 5 dollars per lbs lost in a jar( some do ten but i am in grad school and don't have a ton of extra cash), i can't take money out of the jar till my goal weight is reached. I then get to spend that money guilt-free on anything I want because i earned ever dollar with my weight loss!

    Re: 10 pounds reward

I reached the 10 pound mark this week, and I rewarded my self with a new (slimmer looking) work out suit.  Now Im not only 10 pounds lighter, and feel better about myself and how Im starting to look wearing tighter fitting clothes. Today was my second check in I have lost 11 pounds, so I gave myself a break today too, I still ate like I was suppose to I just took it easy today, it was cold outside, so we just spent the day in cuddling and watching tv.   I will pick back up on my regular workouts tomarrow.

    Re: 10 pounds reward

I have never been good at rewarding myself. My mother told me she would buy me a new outfit for every 10lbs I lose. So, hopefully I will lose some by the time I visit her again. I live in Florida and she is in Tennessee. Try getting someone else to reward you if you can't think of anything to do for yourself. Maybe just a day out with friends to a new place.

    Re: 10 pounds reward

I think cute panties are a great idea!  There is just something about them that make you feel great!  I also do pedicures.

If you are into movies or video games, you could also allow yourself to have a movie/game night on the weekend.  It's awesome sometimes to just set aside a chunk of time to just veg out. :)

    Re: 10 pounds reward

Me and my boyfriend are trying to lose weight together and we have started a good reward plan based off the biggest loser...We weigh in once a week on the same day and time every week and the one of us that loses the most weight gets a reward from the other one...Right now the rewards include not having to do chores for a week (my reward because i clean the house every week), having to cook every meal for a week (for him because he cooks every night unless he has to work late or tired), new outfit, massages, new book (cause he loves to read), a guys only motorcycle ride (because we always do rides together so he stays back with me to make sure i don't get hurt). The prizes aren't much we tried to set them at less than $10 except for a new outfit but that ones going to be saved for a while. We work out together every morning at 5am and then its off to work for the both of us and so we can't help each other during lunches when your sitting around coworks who are eating bad food so this way it gives you more incentive to stick to eating healthier during lunches. We just started this and last night was out weigh in and I won this week so I get to relax and be pampered a little bit and its nice. I'm just really glad we are supporting each other. For the week I lost 5lbs and he lost 2lbs.
