    Exception for a special occasion?

I have been taking the Alli capsules since 6/15 and no problems so far!  I am wondering, if I know I am going to have a big meal (wedding, graduation, family gathering, etc), and I did NOT take an Alli capsule before that meal, would I still experience treament effects?  I am thinking I may since it is still probably in my system from the previous meal or the day before.  A good incentive to not overeat at all anymore!  Anyone have any experiences with this so far?

     Thanks!

I haven't started taking my alli yet, but I know in the book it says that the side effects can still happen up to 48 hours after taking your last dose. I would stop at least two days before the wedding if I were you.

If you skip a dose of alli, it simply means you won't get the fat-blocking benefits of alli for that meal. alli works specifically on the meal you consume with the capsule.  alli is not absorbed in your bloodstream, you don’t need to worry about maintaining certain levels of alli in your system.

    Hope this helps!

I think that the original poster was referring to how long it would stay in her blood stream, but rather her digestive system.  So the question really is about how fast you are digesting your meals, which I would think is kind of based on each individual....unless by blocking the fat Alli speeds up the how quickly you digest food.  Any thoughts?

I too want to know the answer to this question. Sylvia let me state this in a different manner, I want to go out tomorrow night and blow it big time. Do I have to wait 2 days to let alli get out of my bowels, or can I just skip that single dose without treatment effects?  In other words if you want to eat whatever can we just skip one dose, or wait til it is out of our bowels? The previous answer you provided is too vague to be any help. Just because we're missing the fat-blocking benefits doesn't mean a treatment effect will not occur. We want to know if we skip a dose and eat extremely high fat are we safe from treatment effects?
