    Re: QUESTION ABOUT TREATMENT EFFECTS

Thanks for answering WorkingClassHeros' question about the orange stuff. I thought it was a treatment effect and thought well thats not bad. I just had my first check in today and lost 3lbs. I'm looking forward to eating more fat grams as how I thought it was 15 grms per day not a meal. (duh!)  I was eating pretty good and feeling very satisfied. Now that I understand  what I can do, I will have more fun with my food choices. Good luck all!

    Re: QUESTION ABOUT TREATMENT EFFECTS

I am on day 12 and nothing but gas and feeling bloated. Not even oily gas, just gas. I have been to loyal to this diet, but last night I ate more than normal and nothing happened. It was meat loaf so it was probably good for me anyway.

    Re: QUESTION ABOUT TREATMENT EFFECTS

I just started taking Alli and had a few questions I did not see addressed in the pamphlets.  How long does the active ingredient stay in your system?   If you have a planned event (let's say a wedding or Thanksgiving) and you know that this is one of those rare occasions where you will go over 15g of fat, is it more appropriate to skip a pill with that meal?  Or, should a person stop taking the pill for 24 hours prior?  I am a little scared of the treatment effects.

Are there any treatment effects if you stay within your 15 g of fat at your 3 daily meals, but go over the caloric intake?  (Still thinking about the wedding - I may be able to manage staying within the meal guidelines, but after adding a few beverages in, will certainly go over the calorie max for this one day.)

    Re: QUESTION ABOUT TREATMENT EFFECTS

    Hi jenvan,

Treatment effects only occur when you go over the fat guidelines not calories.

alli may stay in the body for up to 48-72 hours depending on how fast you Gi tract digests and eliminates food.  Alli is active in the body for 2 hours.  You could skip the pill for that meal or event, some prefer to skip the whole day to stay on the safe side.

    Hope this helps.

    Re: QUESTION ABOUT TREATMENT EFFECTS

I've been on this for 3 months and I know that I wouldn't be showing this much wieght loss with just the diet. I do not get treatment effects unless I overeat with a fatty meal and that hasn't been pleasant the next day. I do try to keep my fat intake under 15 grams and then I don't have effects until I step on the scale on Thursdays and see that I'm down another 2 pounds!!! What an effect.

Re: Fat that you already have stored up

Alli only works on the fat that you eat not on the fat that is stored in your body. The only way to work on the fat that is stored up is to exercise.
