    Re: need turbo jam buddy!!!

    Hi ilovedaniel,

Good for you!  I'm glad you began the new workout.  Keep at at - the fact that it is challenging is a good thing and gives you something to continue to strive for.

If you find it fun, you'll want to stick with it and that's half the battle of any workout.

    Keep me posted.

    Good Luck,

    Paul

It only took me a few weeks or less to learn the moves. Now after monthes, i don't even have to look at the screen, my body moves by the music.. I don't think you should be worrying too much about it, have fun with it. Even mistakes burn calories;)  I started at 145lbs Size 8, now at 121lb Size3 with Alli help. It works and i am still having fun with it. I'm glad that i found this workout.

Hey Buzz,  Long time no talk! How have you been?

    Re: need turbo jam buddy!!!

ive been doing it for 3 weeks now, every now and again, i miss a kick or a knee. i found the best way for me to learn the moves was when i didnt understand it, i watched to see what arm she was leading with to go into the move. you really have to pay attention, because unlike most other workouts, chalene does not always go right left right, sometimes its the same side twice in a row.

my best advice is just keep watching and practicing!

    Re: need turbo jam buddy!!!

    Hi ilovedaniel,

Any time you are following an instructor and relying on those moves to give you a good workout, the best thing you can do is to keep active and not stop or slow down.  It's when you try to get the routine down and follow all the moves perfectly that can actually keep you from attaining your goal - keeping your HR up and burning the maximum amount of calories and fat. When you get stumped, just continue to do a certain movement or even jump in place until you can pick back up.

Keep at it and don't give up.  It does take time to really get the hang of things, but you will.

    Good Luck,

    Paul

    Re: need turbo jam buddy!!!

    Hi ilovedaniel,

Everyone is in need of motivation every now and then.  Remember - alli is a lifestyle and not only are you doing this for the weight loss, but to provide you with a liftetime change of fitness and health.  Working out is such a critical piece to all of that.  I know there are days when we just don't feel like having to exercise, but keep in mind that the end benefits are so great and will continue to pay off in so many ways.  The endorphins released, for instance help to control your mental outlook and each day you chellenge yourself is a day closer to meeting your fitness goals.

The key is to find exercises you truly enjoy.  If Turbo Jam isn't doing it, don't do nothin as an alternative.  Try a different activity.  Just be sure to stay active.  Start keeping an exercise journal and track your workouts and daily progress.  Looking back on it will help to keep you accountable and can be motivating to see improvements over weeks and months.

Perhaps you can get a workout buddy - somebody to help you stay on track.  Listen to music that motivates you to work out and remember to reward yourself in some way.

    YOU CAN DO THIS!!

    Good Luck,

    Paul
