Yeah!!!! I'm so excitied!!!  I made my first mini goal!!!!  I am at 156 pounds.  I have lost 11 pounds and 9 of those with alli!  Thank you all for keeping me on this plan and thank you alli for keeping my fat intake honest!!   It is completely up to me to add the exercise to lead a healthier lifestyle.

Wow, Candace!  That must feel great to reach your first mini goal!  I have my eyes on that too, and hopefully should make it in the next week or two.  Does it feel more doable now that you hit that first goal?  Give yourself a big pat on the back, sister!!

    Hi Candace,

Excellent work!  I am so pround of you, and you should be as well.  Reaching your first goal and losing 11 pounds is truly an accomplishment.  Now is the time to really rev up your exercise.  You want to capitilize on the momentum you're seeing, and get fit.  Remember: at least three days of 30-60 minutes of cardio exercise and 2 of weight training.

Please keep us all posted and encouraged.

    Good Luck,

    Paul

    Re: Slim In 6

WOW!! I guess the holidays are getting to everyone. I know how busy I have been with all the holiday rush. Add sick kids, being sick yourself, and a 90th birthday party for your grandmother and you have one busy December! I am currently down to 154 which is a 14 pound loss from my highest weight of 168. I haven't lost anything in the past 2 weeks but luckily I haven't gained either. I haven't watched my intake, exercised, or taken Alli regularly. i am going to the gym today. I guess you can say I am getting back on the horse. I am hoping to get back on track after Christmas. I have a trip to Mexico in Mid January and I would love to make my next mini goal of 149 by then. I better exercise even longer and harder if I want to make my goal in the time frame I have set. Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas! BTW Paul: Thanks for the encouragement. I appreciate it very much. Even though I haven't gone to the gym for scheduled activity, I have had a pretty "physical" 2 weeks at work. I am an RN working in a PACU. I can't say more but I have certainly gotten a workout!!

    Hi Candace,

Yes, it's time to get back on the horse as you say.  The holidays can be the most difficult time to stick to a diet and fitness plan, but you're going to do it.  Getting back in the gym today is the first step.  You are so welcome for the encouragement.  I love to hear from you and how things are progressing.  Start the new year off the way you want - healthy and feeling great.

At least you have a goal to look forward to - Mexico sounds great.

    Keep it up.

    Good Luck,

    Paul

    Re: Slim In 6

     Hey Paul,

Just got back from Mexico.  WOW was it every wonderful.  I did gain a few pounds while I was there...alcohol has mucho calories!  Anyway, I got back Sat night late, took it easy Sun. and got back to the gym today.

My next goal is geared toward looking great in May when I will give a lecture at a nursing conference.  Can't just get off the horse because you got to your destination.  Besides, I really like this ride I'm on.  I love the new sizes I can wear.

    Final goal 135

BTW, I have been using an exercise ball for my set ups and push up.  Seems to not put as much strain on my neck. I also use it to stretch my back when I am done.  I also will set on the ball and use free weights to work my arms...also get a core workout from trying to balance.  Great exercise but can be comical.

    Re: Slim In 6

    Hi Candace,

I'm glad you had a great time in Mexico . . . sounds like something we all need!

Don't worry about gaining a couple of extra pounds.  You were vacationing and it sounds like you didn't go overboard.  You also have a very good outlook on getting right back into the swing of things.  For some people, this is where they can get tripped up, so good for you for making the right decisions.

The exercise ball is a good and effective tool to aid you in your workouts.  Especially for your abdominal work, it really allows you to concentrate on your core and isolate those muscles.

Keep up the great work and keep me posted.  You'll be at your mini goal before you know it.

    Good Luck,

    Paul

    Re: Slim In 6

    Hey Paul.

Starting to loose weight more consistantly and feeling like I am back on track.  I lost 1 pound this week and last so I feel more motivated than ever to stick to it.  I have 12 weeks before I give my first lecture ever and I really want to look my best.

I got hit with some bug I must have picked up in Mexico...one of my traveling partners ended up in the hospital after 2 weeks of being sick (I will leave out the details! LOL) Then my daughter was sick with the stomach flu that has been going around. Knocked her down for 3 days instead of the normal 24 hour thing.  Anyway I haven't been able to go back to the gym since I got home from Mexico but I have been really sticking to the diet.

We got hit with the heavy snow storm yesterday so I can't get out to the gym for my normal big Friday workout.  I plan on working on the exercise ball if my big dumb 150 pound Mastiff will leave me alone.  He thinks anything on the floor is a toy and that includes me!  Of course he does add weight to my work out!

Sounds like just a bunch of excusses not to work out but I sure didn't want to share what I had. Feeling much better now!
