It should be fine as long as you stick with low fat rolls such as california rolls, avocado, cucumber etc. You want to avoid fatty sushi such as eel, tempura rolls, etc. I know in the Healthy Eating Guide they list 21 low fat snacks. 3 pieces of sushi is listed on that snack list. I love avocado rolls and plan on eating them on the weekends.

nigiri sushi types should be okay for fat too-- just check the fat content of whatever type fish you are planning on eating

This is a great question for Sylvia (our dietician) but I needed to add my 2 cents. Avocado contains rather high amounts of fat. So be conscious of how much avocado you are eating.....it can add up quick!

Hi: 11 peices of sushi is 7 grams of fat 11% and is 400 calories, I would say that is perfect.

Sushi is great 11 peices is 400 calories and 7 grsams of Fat 11%. Now my doctors says don't eat 11 pieces in one sitting but that is an idea for you.

    I love it also,

    Re: sushi, anyone?

Yes avocado is higher in fat but there is such a minimal amount in an avocado roll. I don't think that would do any harm for a lunch or dinner. One whole avocado roll  (6-7 pieces) only typically has 246 calories and 11 grams of fat. Pair that up with a nice salad or some fruit and you have a great dinner.

    Re: sushi, anyone?

We went out for Sushi Monday night.  I used the "Nutrition Tracker" here on the website to see about fat info before we left.  I am happy to say I had 8 pieces total (California Roll, Cucumber Roll and Spicy Tuna) with a salad (no dressing) and I felt great!
