    Feeling like CRAP.......Stupid m&m's!!!:(

I went grocery shopping yesterday, and I did really great......all healthy stuff!!  And I made sure to prepare for a sweet attack by getting those Hostess 100 cal mini cupcake things!!! (YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM).  Anywho......there I was all proud of myself and ready to take the week on when in comes my sweet hubby with two King sized packs of peanut m&m's for the girls!!!  UGHHHHH!  Of course being only 2 and 5 years old, they split a pack!!  That left one sitting on the bar.....taunting me....calling to me.  I didn't eat it......last night anyways!  Then, around 10:30 this morning, when I start getting all snack crazy, there those little evil demans were....still on my bar.  Before I knew it, 3/4's of them were in my belly.  I threw the rest away by dumping them in the nastiest little pile I could find in the trash can.....but I still ate more than a full serving of them!!!  How lame am I?  I looked at the package and I had like 20 grams of fat in like 45 seconds!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHH!

Ok now that the m&m's are over with and you have beaten yourself up lets learn what we have to do to deal with it.  My husband use to pull this kind of #$%@ on me as well.  I have learned not to let him win and have made it very clear what I expect him to do.  Next time he has a need to bring something home ask him nicely to think of you and what you need.  Only bring one home and not two.  Ask for his kindness, understanding and support.  If that doesn't work threaten him with bodily harm.  We all fall off the wagon sometime but next time learn from what happened and be strong.  Get out of the house (with out the m&m's) and go buy yourself something.  Get a facial or your nails done so that you can't open that bag.  you can do it girl. I know you can.

I thought I read a post where somebody said Walmart was selling a 100 calorie pack of M&Ms.  I think they are made using dark chocolate.  Have him buy those.  I don't think the kids would care.  It might not have been M & Ms though but a different chocolate.

    Hi Heathernugen,

We have 2 very different views of this. I see this as an example of the great conviction and determination that you have. What would you have done 6 months ago in the same situation? You were able to step away from the temptation over night and then you THREW 1/4 of them away! How many times in your life have you been able to do this? You are working on forming new eating habits and this is an amazing step in the new direction that you are heading.

    Congratulations!!!!!

    Re: Feeling like CRAP.......Stupid m&m's!!!:(

are we married to the same man???

no worries.  i've come to the point that i will eat 4 or 5 pieces not bags, and don't want any more.  even if i do it every day, its better than a cocoa attack when i could sit and eat a 4 lb bag... i find that if i totally deprive myself, i will eat everything in the cabinets till i finally give in to the need for chocolate.  chocolate has magnesium in it.  so if i need magnesium, i eat magnesium. just not a whole bag at a time.  hang in there... i'll bet everyone that's posted has done it at least once since starting their plan.  just pick up and get back on track.  i am a choco-o-holic and i've lost 30 lbs.  i started changing 50 year old habits 2 months before getting the alli plan.  you can do it too.  ...wipe your hands, shake it off, then you stand...rascal flatts...

    Re: Feeling like CRAP.......Stupid m&m's!!!:(

Thank you all soooooo very much for the encouragement, support, and even congrats!!!!  Today, and yesterday for that matter, have been so much better.  I decided to put on my big girl panties and get over it. ( big girl as in mature.....and I guess size also for the time being, but we're working on that!!! lol)  To anyone reading this who had a similar situation, it's so much easier to get up and get over it than to wallow in it!

    Thanks again!

    Re: Feeling like CRAP.......Stupid m&m's!!!:(

I have found when my husband does something like this (eating a bag of M&M's) I will take one and just savor it and then get on to something else to distract myself. It has helped to do it that way. Hubby also know not to bring stuff like that home now, but if he buys a little bag of them at the soccer field or something, I do that.

Glad you're back on the wagon!

    Kim
