    Very Confused...Please help!

I have a ?.  I'm on a 1800 cal. with 19 grams of fat each meal.  This is my second day on the pill.  I'm not a really big breakfast eater but I still will eat something healthy for breakfast.  I've been taking the pill with lunch and supper but now my ? is what do I do with the morning 19 grams of fat?.  Do I spread it out through the day and still take the 3 pill or not take the 3rd pill but still make sure I get the morning grams of fat in in order for the pills to work?...For example I had a banana and nutrigrain cereal bar with a piece of toast this morning for breakfast.  For lunch I had a Lean Cuisine and peach but I noticed I wasn't close to my fat intake and I just couldn't eat another bite, I was way too full.  I'm sure I could make it up through the rest of the evening lol.  Is it possible to cut down my calorie and fat intake.  It just seems like alot of food for me to eat.  I'm not asking to cut down alot just some of it.  Alright, Alright it was more than 1? lol.

    Thanks!

you don't have to hit your max fat allowance, your just supposed to make sure not to go over it.  you are supposed to reduce your calories and fat on this plan.

But if I don't take the first pill for breakfast how many fat grams should I have?...Do I still take that 19 grams of fat (that i'm suppose to have for breakfast) through out the day in order for the pills to work?

    Thanks!

    Re: Very Confused...Please help!

That was my problem also!  I've basically asked the same question.  This week when I lost another 2 pounds my calorie and fat intake allowances dropped drastically to 1,200 calories and 36 gms. of fat daily.  I'm waiting to see what they say, but I THINK it might be because of our goals.  It doesn't bother me to have them drop, because that's about what I was able to consume daily anyway without all of the extra junk I would normally eat.

Anyway, just wanted to let you know you aren't alone.  Good luck, I have really liked the program.

    Re: Very Confused...Please help!

Sandy,                                                                                                                                                                           I have found that if I eat the amount of calories/fat grams that were recommended for me when I registered on the Alli website and exercise and take Alli as recommended, I am loosing weight, about 12 since I started.  I began with not getting up to those amounts and I did loose weight but since I have added to my consumption and have been closer to my target amounts of fat & calories I am still loosing weight at about the same rate. I am allowed 1600 calories and 17 grams of fat per day and when I started Alli, I found so many fat free goodies on the grocery store shelf that I went crazy and the results were weight loss but I was not getting the healthy eating habits that I could live with for a lifetime which is the key to keeping the weight off. This is the philosophy that I have adopted and it has helped me, I hope it will help you:I have been reading a lot of posts about not eating all of the fat grams that you are allowed.  I see that some of us have been eating very low fat/calorie for some time before Alli.  Well then I have just 1 question. If we have been eating low fat/calorie before Alli, why are we still FAT?  I think that the answer is simple. We have not been eating as low fat/calorie as we would like to think.  Well I had the same problem, with all the fat free products on the market, since I started Alli; I was not getting even 1/2 or my allowed fat grams. I have had to retrain myself, to get rid of the notion that fat free is always best.  I would use egg beaters instead of eggs, skim milk, fat free everything from Jell-O, cool whip, mayonnaise, margarine, bread, well you get the picture.  I have been on ALLI for about 6 weeks and have lost 12 pounds.  I have decided that for the next few weeks, anyway, I am going to enter what I plan to eat in my nutrition log(before I prepare & eat it) and if it has too few fat grams, I will add fat. I will use 2% or Whole milk on my cereal (depending on how many fat grams and calories I am short) or just add an 8 oz. glass of milk to a meal, I will use real eggs instead of egg beaters, I will use regular margarine, I will use regular bread, I even added a 1/2 peanut butter & sugar Free strawberry jelly sandwich to eat with my regular lunch, all to add fat grams. By the way PEANUT BUTTER & JELLY SANDWICHES ARE MY DOWNFALL. IF I EAT ONE I USUALLY EAT THREE. So I will have to watch it on this. Maybe it will help me to fight the craving. Usually I will stay away from this temptation of mine until I explode, (By explode, I mean, eat 3 of them). Any way, I said all of that to say this. Since what we were doing to loose weight obviously has not worked for the long haul, let's all give the Alli plan, the allowed amount of fat/calories, a real chance and we might be surprised.  I think the key is that even though I am eating the recommended calories/fat grams, my body is not absorbing all of those calories because of the ALLI, and thus I am loosing weight.Well I adopted this philosophy 2 check-ins ago and I have lost 5 more pounds, Yea!  All with eating more real food, staying up to but not over my allowed calories/fat allowances and taking ALLI with each meal. I have begun to retrain myself to eat better, feel better and be better for a lifetime.  THANKS ALLI!!                                                                                                                                                                  Hope this helps.                                                                                                                                                  Linda

    Re: Very Confused...Please help!

    Hi Sandy,

I think Linda, has done a beautiful job explaining the alli meal plan, which allows a moderate amount of fat, which is based on the USDA Dietary Guidelines and the American Heart Association recommendations (to help you feel satisfied and able to use avocado, nuts, peanut butter, real eggs, etc).

If you planning on eating fat with your breakfast, then I recommend that you also take alli with your breakfast, so you can receive the fat blocking benefits of alli.  alli blocks 25% of any fat you consume with your meals.

Let us know if we can be of further help,
