    Re: Waste of money

It was not a waste of money at all! As ashamed as I am to admit having to stop for fast food today because I had a starving child with me on the road, I was THRILLED that I had placed the alli food guide in my handbag. Having that information handy on the road made it possible for me to order something to eat (I was starving too) and remain within my dietary restrictions. It was very helpful that the allowed foods are indicted with a green dot allowing a very quick glance, and although my selection was limited, it was simple and it worked.

Oh yeah, and along with that alli food guide I have my alli shuttle loaded and handy when needed in my handbag.

Thank you GSK for doing a very fine and thorough job of putting together the alli plan! If I seem upbeat at 11:00 at night, it's because I had a very invigorating workout on my new Gazelle I set up this evening.

    :-)

What is a waste of money? It is very educational and motivational! All the booklets and just the thought that you can do it is worth the money!! Ashley Stone  Pediatric Nurse Practitioner  in Minnesota

    Re: Waste of money

I'm glad you replied.  I have spent so many years "cutting corners" with diets, that I'm ready to fall for one completely and follow it to the letter.  That's the only way it works.  The pills are confidence that I can do this with help, but the diet is the important part.  It's just nice to know that I can get a "boost" while following a healthy diet.

Sam's is the place to get the cheapest pills, guys.  Right now they only sell starter packs, but they're still cheaper than everywhere else--including Wal-Mart.  The Sam's starter packs have 150 pills for $66.  I will keep buying starter packs there unless they sell refills--it is still cheaper than anywhere else.

    Re: Waste of money

I disagree.  I've been on every diet and even through a 6 months program at a hospital and the guide is right on target.  We all need to know what we should be doing and by reading "all" the literature we can start off good.  We never say all the food we eat is a waste of money, only supplies to help us eat the right thing.  Please give the entire Alli program a chance and we should be encouraging others to do the same.  I've lost 2 1/2 lbs since the first day and I too am having trouble eating all that I'm suppose to but am making sure not to exceed the fat grams.  So far, I'm not having any cramps, (except the first day - bad).  It's a good program and the nutrition is right on target.

    Re: Waste of money

Actually, if everyone bought the starter pack and actually READ the enclosed information, you would find that 90% of the questions on the message board are answered in the enclosed pamphlets! And it is not all on the web site. You don't have to buy the starter pack, but it is helpful.

    Re: Waste of money

I do not agree with you---I am going to be a healthy senior and the started kit was a life savor to me already and joing the alli plan was another. I bought mine at costco 150 pills for less than you paid for 90. I love the assess to the books and the program. I bet I have tried to lose my weight a lot longer than a lot of people. I am a young 79 almost 80 and I have lost 3 lbs in 3 days and no side affects-----watch me go. Everyone is allowed their opion though i just can not agree with you

    Re: Waste of money

Where do I buy the pills alone? Every pack Ive seen for the 60pill,90 pill and 120 pills has the booklets, pill case . How cheap is the 90 pill bottle alone?  I haven't seen just the plain pill/bottle being sold . I paid $59 for 90 pills. I soon found out that Walmart has the 90pills for $49!I I am determined to finish the 90 pills and see how much I've lost in 30days. I've already been dieting since January of this year and lost 30 lbs. I just want to lose the last 12 lbs and have not been able to lose anything in the past 2 months. I know, change the exercise ,add more minutes to your exercise, change the meals etc.... Done that and the scale does not budge.Hoping to see some sort of loss in the first week. Even if it's 1-2 lbs.

    Re: Waste of money

Another bonus to the pack is the sample menus.  Currently, I have my Alli registered and am getting the menus online (These are GREAT, by the way).  However, after I quit taking the pills I can still use the guide from the starter pack to plan my meals.

    Re: Waste of money

I read everything and thought it was well worth the money:  I drove 2 blocks to my Walgreen's and got the last one on the shelf:  well worth paying more than to drive 5 miles to walk around wally world and walk out with my alli and about 200.00 worth of other stuff i pass by!

no treatment effects!  already on a lean healthy diet:  noticed a little to much sugar in some areas:  I like the pill holder and the books! and the website w/ food journal! 2nd day!  I need to buy a scale:

     i paid 49.99 for 60 day:
