Re: RE : AMOUNT OF FAT GRAMS

I'd like to know if I'm counting fat grams or fat grams from calories or both......

In the book it says you advance from 15 grams of fat to 30 grams in phase 3.  I'm confused.....Which is it?  Are you allowed more during week 3?

And I didn't understand the formula to calculate the fat grams if your planing your own meal.  What does it mean after you calculate it??

    Help?!?!?

    Thanks-sb

Re: RE : AMOUNT OF FAT GRAMS

I am confused as well.  The book that contains all of the recipes and things mentions phases 1-3  The information provided with the pills doesn't mention anything about phases whatsoever.  It makes more sense to follow the phases because it's not such a shock to your system.  Any thoughts

Re: RE : AMOUNT OF FAT GRAMS

The recommended amount of fat is about 15 grams per meal

The recommended dose of alli is one capsule three times a day with meals containing about 15 grams of fat.  additionally, to ensure adequate vitamin absorption, those taking alli should take a multivitamin once a day, at bedtime because alli may reduce the absorption of fat soluble vitamins (vitamins A, D, E, K & beta carotene).

    Hope this helps!

Re: RE : AMOUNT OF FAT GRAMS

Sylvia...I eat the same breakfast every morning (fat free yogurt with a mixture of fresh berries sprinkled with low-fat granola and one piece of raisin toast).  I use a calorie software program (CalorieKing.com) that has an amazing database of foods and their complete nutritional breakdown.  This breakfast amounts to less than 4 grams of fat.  My thought is that I will NOT take alli before breakfast and only take one with lunch and dinner which most often are around 15 grams of fat. Does this make sense - taking only two alli a day?  Will benefits be the same?  Thanks!

Hi Sylvia I appreciate your trying to help, but it didn't. For example, when I signed in I went through the  question and answer thing which told me I needed 1800 calories per day with 19 grams of fat per meal. I've been on weight watchers for the last couple months and I know I don't eat that much fat. So am I supposed to eat more fat in order to lose it? At what point is the alli pill useless to take? What I mean is, is there some magic number of fat grams that it does not work on? If an average meal for me contains 10 g of fat do I take the pill? If it contains 6g? This would be very helpful to me.

As a side if it helps, I am 5' even, 170 lbs, 30 yrs old and I walk at least 2 miles a day <40 min.  I am also working towards becoming more active, weight lifting, aerobics and cardio.
