Do you need to go to the bathroom more?

Hey everyday, first day of my diet and im reading up on the tables i will be taking soon.

I just have one question thought, i have read that if you genrally stay under the 15g/meal allowence you normally dont get side effects. Well i was wondering if you did stay under that allowence, if you needed to go to the bathroom more then normal? And if so then do you have to go straight away?

Would be wonderful if someone could help me with my question =)

Personally, staying under the fat gram allowance, I had an increase in bowel movements only because I now eat better and have included more fiber in my diet. Everyone is different though, and so are their digestive systems. Hope this helps somewhat.

As long as I stay lowfat I haven't noticed an increase in restroom trips - only when I eat too much fat.  And even then it is not too bad.

Re: Do you need to go to the bathroom more?

No.  I have stayed in the right range for fat grams and have had no effects at all.  I actually am more constipated, because I have increased my fiber intake so much and need to add more water.  I do pee more too though.  I have never felt like I couldn't make it to the bathroom and have never had loose stools.  The only time I had more gas was when I ate Fiber One cereal, which is like eating Metamucil!  :)

Don't worry.  If you follow the guidelines, you'll be just fine!  The fear of having those effects helps you to be motivated to not eat too much fat, so that's a good thing.  I haven't tested it yet, but I eat 15g of fat per meal, and I'm fine.

    Good luck!

Re: Do you need to go to the bathroom more?

This is probably going to sound strange but I view the treatment effects as a positive thing.     My breakfast and lunch is always within the allowable amount of fat grams.  My dinners vary greatly.  If I buy a prepackaged meal it's very easy to determine my intake.  If I prepare the meal it's a guessing game.  I have two young children and the thought of preparing separate meals is exhausting.  So, when I have treatment effects it's usually in the morning (after eating a meal with extra fat).  The positive side is that I know that Alli is working to break down the fat in my body and it's not going to "stick" to me, instead it runs through me.  Which essentially means that I going to lose weight faster!!!

i haven't experienced anything different except horrible-smelling gas last night (it was thanksgiving...OOPS!)

i detest strange or off-kilter bowel movements, so if i have to eat right to avoid them, i will.
