    Need anti-cake prayers please...

Tomorrow is my daughters 7th b-day and I have to make cupcakes for her tea in the afternoon and for the bowling party she will have on Sunday (which will also include pizza). I am going to do my best not to eat more than one but I am already tempted and I havent even opened the mix yet. Any words of wisdom....

Chew some gum while your mixing/baking - suck on a piece of sugar free candy !!

A "tea" for a 7 yr old ... can you explain that to me.  Is that just a polite term for a birthday party?  Sounds interesting !!

    Re: Need anti-cake prayers please...

Hey I could've used some anti-cake prayers a week or so ago..My b-day was Nov 6th and needless to say I over-indulged..not just then but wound up going crazy fri-sat-sun and ate SOOOOOOOOO much more than I should have. But I picked up where I left off before my sinful weekend and have been good and on track all this week. So I'll say a lil prayer for you now not only that you can do your best to withstand the mighty temptation of the cupcake..but that if you do fall victim to its evil ways that you can pick yourself up and go on.

Quaker quakes help me fight cravings while serving sweets to my kindergarten class. Maybe it'll help you, too. But a little prayer never hurt!

Hi Sher- we are having a "high tea" in the afternoon with my daughter and three friends- silver pot, real china and white gloves!!! Of course they will also be sporting feather boas and sunglasses plus crowns but you are only 7 once:)

I am serving cupcakes, cheese and crackers and heart shaped pb&j.

I like your idea of the hard candy or gum- I may have to do that.

Such a COOL idea.   I'm going to have to remember that for my granddaughters.  Such an awesome mom you are :)

As the saying goes...."Let THEM eat cake"  :)
Or what about making a little batch of the diet soda cupcakes for yourself?

I saw a cool idea for a tea party, to make your own ice cubes in the old style squarish cube trays but you can use fruit punch or your 'tea' and before freezing drop in some party favor rings.  Might be too late for you but thought it was cute.

    Happy Birthday to your daughter!

    Re: Need anti-cake prayers please...

The party went well:) I wish I could post some photos.

I used really sugary frosting on the cupcakes and didn't relly like it os I did not even eat one!  I did have a burger club on rye at Friendly's after during her dinner but since I was really good at breakfast and lunch it wasn't to bad.

The hard part was after cleaning up... I was tempted to eat some cookies and left over pb&j's but I didnt!!!
