    Re: Maintenance . . . Please

I don't think there will ever be a maintenance program.  We are an after thought to them now.  there is nothing in it for them.  They no longer need us.  We are done.  Stick us with a fork.

    Re: Maintenance . . . Please

    Hi Everyone,

I PROMISE you that the maintenance plan is being finalized right now. I have never lied to you and would not begin to do so now. There is no harm in going back over the steps that you have completed. I can promise you that there will be things for you to learn from that.
I will let you know the MINUTE that I hear anything about the day the maintenance plan is ready.

    Trust me?

    Re: Maintenance . . . Please

Is there a maintenance thread?  I can't find one.  It would be nice if we had a dedicated sticky thread for maintenance.  Maybe we do and I don't see it.  Can anyone point me in the right direction?

    Re: Maintenance . . . Please

    Hi Dave4100,

There isn't any thread just for maintenance on this board. You can use the search command on the upper right corner to find any threads on other boards. Maybe you can start one on here if you don't find one anywhere else.

    Good luck,

    Re: Maintenance . . . Please

Hey, I didn't know you guys were all in here posting!  Ann, we haven't heard from you in ages, you too Becky, and Dave very seldom.  I'm reporting in to join the maintenance gang as of last Sunday.  I had plateaud with seven more pounds to lose four months ago.  I just couldn't lose another pound.  Then my daughter and I signed up for one month of NutriSystem and split it.  We figured we could each make it through two weeks sticking very strictly to their plan.  It worked!  I lost six pounds and she lost five.  Here's the bad news - since I finished up the N.S. diet last Sunday I have been "rewarding" myself.  Today I went to See's Candy with my other daughter and only bought three pieces, but ate them all, plus the free sample they gave me.  I have gained back two of the six I lost and was thinking I was doomed when I saw this maintenance threat and read your posts and became remotivated.  I especially like this quote from Becky:  "Either I have to be overcontrolling, or I am over indulgent."  That's me in a nutshell.  It doesn't take much deviation from the program to put back on a pound or two.  Unfortunately, tomorrow I have to go to a memorial service that is potluck Mexican food and my will power is practically nil.  But from there I will go to the grocery store and stock up on salad stuff, other vegies, and fruit and get back on the program that helped me lose 56 pounds!  Thanks for being here, you guys, and I was also very happy to read Betty's post that said a maintenance program is coming!

    Re: Maintenance . . . Please

Unfortunately, when Betty made that statement, it was last February.  Maybe I'm missing the program.  I think the mods should put a starred sticky thread for maintenance.  What better thread for people that need a little encouragement when they are having a relapse, than to read a maintenance thread for moral encouragement.  As maintainers, I think we can offer people a lot of good insight on how we lost all our weight, but more importantly, how we are keeping it off.  I think it could be one of the most beneficial and read threads on this whole board. One of the reasons I was able to keep losing weight was I sought out threads that had success stories in them.  Who's going to step up to the plate?

    Re: Maintenance . . . Please

     Dave,

I hope the maintenance plan comes into being VERY soon. I'm about 10lbs away from my long term goal weight and I don't want to be left floundering on my own!

Maybe Betty will come back and post an update some time soon!

    Re: Maintenance . . . Please

    Hi Everyone,

Here are the two options for anyone who has reached their goal:

    1.  Move into nextphase. You can still use all the tools/tips/charting that you had in myalliplan but now you have a little extra knowledge re: your calorie gap.  You can certainly continue to lose weight in this phase.

    2.  Restart myalliplan.  Members can choose to restart the program (at Step 1 or any other Step).  You will not lose your previous charting or any of the capabilities you have had.  You will just receive the old lessons you have previously received which is a great way to be reminded of things you have learned through the process but may have forgotten.

I realize that people would like more options, but this is all that is available right now. I have put your request in and if anything new comes up you will be the first to know.

I recommend that you start a new post on this board to communicate with others who are in maintenance. I will have it made into a sticky post once you start it.

    Re: Maintenance . . . Please

I keep hoping something will change and the maintenance portion will be added too! I have been a yo yo dieter and have not been able to maintain my weight loss in the past(obviously since Im here)... anyway I am now 20 pounds from my goal and am REALLY going to need the support to KEEP this weight off !!!! Maybe ALLI could start selling post weight loss vitamins maybe with a appetite suppressant in them that way they will make money and adding a maintenance portion would actually interest them ! LOL

                       *Michele*     start date March 17,2008

                               Goal weight 125 pounds

    Re: Maintenance . . . Please

I don't know what a "sticky post" is, but if someone else knows how to do it, I will certainly join in the thread.  Thanks for the advice Betty, and we'll keep checking for a maintenance program.  I'm about two pounds away now.
