Re: I HAD A FULL FAT, DESSERT LADEN THANKSGIVING AND.......

I tried to be sooo good.  I ate turkey, small helping of stuffing, and lots of vegetables.  Then I ate a piece of chocolate cake the size of one of Jupitor's moons. (head hanging in shame)  Today, back on the wagon. (I hope)

Re: I HAD A FULL FAT, DESSERT LADEN THANKSGIVING AND.......

I was too busy making sure everyone else was ok - I have 2 small pieces of turkey, a small helping of taters w/a little gravy over both - some green bean casserole and sweet potatoe's.   Later on last night I had a piece of carrot cake roll - so actually I did pretty good.

Re: I HAD A FULL FAT, DESSERT LADEN THANKSGIVING AND.......

I had a big dinner and even took my Alli. Thought if I was going to cheat , I might as well be punished. No TE's, don't understand that but I am not complaining. Course I still have to wait till tomorrow and see what happens.  It was good, but you are right, the stuffed feeling was bad. Was it worth it, the jury is still out on that one. I enjoyed the food, but now the scales say I have to lose some of the pounds I already lost. But I look at it this way, this is a new lifestyle , not a diet. There will be times I overeat, but I just have to pick myself back up and start watching what I eat again. That is definitely not something a person could do on a regular basis

I had lost 43 pounds, but now it is only 39, I was off my plan for several days..

I can't believe it...I made everything I always do (but with as much fat free ingredents as I could find), and ate a serving of each (even pie!), but managed to stay within my calories/fat grams!

Re: I HAD A FULL FAT, DESSERT LADEN THANKSGIVING AND.......

We had all the traditional foods, but.......... very low fat.  I swapped the Cream of Crab soup for Maryland Crab soup, made stuffing leaving out the eggs and the butter, using egg beaters instead.  No body at my house could tell the difference.  I made a cake using Diet Sprite, lemon zest and lemon juice. Frosted it with a mixture of FF Cool whip, Splenda and lemon juice.  Served it with lots of Fresh Fruit - every body was happy.

    Happy Holidaze!!!!!!!

Re: I HAD A FULL FAT, DESSERT LADEN THANKSGIVING AND.......

I pretty much ate everything I wanted and am having a high calorie day today and will probably have another one tomorrow (for some reason family stuff just involves a lot of eating.)  I don't really feel guilty about it.  Once Sunday comes back around, I'm back to my reduced calorie diet and lots of exercise to make up for the festivities.  If 3000 calories make a pound, if I exceed my maintenance calories by 1000 each day these three days (meaning doubling up my normal calorie intake of about 1500) then I've gained one pound and will have to wait an extra week before I reach my goal.  Thats ok with me.  This is a lifestyle change for me, and maybe this is contradictory, but I guess I think its all right for my new lifestyle to enjoy Thanksgiving and Christmas and the food that is involved in all of that.  I DO know that its important for me to not let my holiday eating linger past this weekend and to limit it to the immediate days around the holiday.

Why do you say O Jacob and complain O Israel, "My way is hidden from the LORD, my cause is disregarded by my God?" Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is an everlasting GOD, the creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired and weary and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary and young men stumble and fall, but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:27-31 SW: 183 CW:158 GW: 135-140 final goal: to look good in a bikini, to be strong, firm, and healthy, to be a good example to my children and patients, to be at peace with food - to eat when hungry and stop when satisfied and to have my mind full with other things other than food when its not time to eat. Eventually I want to live thin naturally and not have it be a struggle.

Re: I HAD A FULL FAT, DESSERT LADEN THANKSGIVING AND.......

Amen to you, and to everyone else who blew it bigtime yesterday but understands this is one or two (or three or ten) days out of the year, and we're in this for life.  Sounds like I over-indulged yesterday too, doesn't it?  I did!  It was scrumptious and worth every calorie and fat gram.  I think if I were granted one last meal in life, it would be the whole Thanksgiving dinner.  Food just doesn't get any better than that.  I gained 1-1/2 pounds overnight, and I'm going to eat a plate of leftovers tonight (although much smaller portions), but will be back on the plan by tomorrow morning.  Just the thought of reporting into this group makes me want to get back in sync with everyone, you're all the best!

Re: I HAD A FULL FAT, DESSERT LADEN THANKSGIVING AND.......

I was very good, exercised, took my Alli, and stayed in my calorie and fat range.  Honestly, if I had already lost a lot of weight, I probably would have felt more free to splurge a little on Thanksgiving, but from past dieting attempts, it seems I have to work so very hard to get a single pound off, and I'm only in my second week - lost 3 pounds the first week.  I so badly don't want to lose any ground - it would depress me right now!
