    Re: life

I am so glad to hear someone else who likes to relax with a glass (or two) of wine before dinner. As much as I love it, it is my downfall because with wine comes munchies! Help!! Kathy

I checked your other posts (there were 4) and the first three were answered.  The other was posted on the breakfast recipe forum so it's not likely you will get an answer there. Try posting that one on the nutitionist forum.  If you click on your own name (or anyone elses) all your posts will come up and you can go directly to them.  Welcome home.

    Re: life

Fantastic! I just brought the kit and now after reading your story I am excited that things can changed for me.
I am an African American female. I have weighed as much as 333lbs and as low as 140 lbs in high school. I begin dieting when I thought I was too overweight at 170 lbs after my son at age 22. I have been on a weight loss roller coaster ride ever since. I have 3 beautiful children. They are almost all grown now. One that will be seventeen next month. I find Alli to be very inspirational. When I first started I lost 8 pounds in one week. I lost 11 lbs so far but have had some set backs. I am excited about what my future will hold and plan to stick with this program before and after I reach my goal.

    Re: life

I just started alli today I've tried every diet from A to Z I lose weight then it comes back. But this time I feel more confident that this will work I started walking today and hope to keep the momentum up. I have the attention span of a gnat. But I need to do this for me not anyone else.

I do worry that it's a fad ... But I'm going to take the chance that this is a change of mind set not a diet but life change.

    Good Luck

    Re: life

I have tried all sorts of weight loss programs. WW, TOPS, LIQUID, name it, I have tried them, but none have been as successful for me as Alli. If I can do it, anyone can.

I think it is important not to deny yourself foods you really enjoy. My husband also enjoys the trips to the ice cream shop. I find most of them offer a low-fat or non-fat alternative, and they are very good. Also, eating fruit as a midnight snack is a great alternative. I find eating all of the required fruits prevents the craving I have for fattening sweet things, such as donuts or cinnamon rolls, my favorite. When I am tempted, I ask myself quietly, "is it worth it". So far I have lost 25 pounds on the Alli program. I have 38 more to go and hope to have it off by July.

My reward is being able to go off a Cholesterol medication that I had been on for over a year prior to Alli. My Doctor is thrilled with the program and tells me to keep it up. I am in my 60's, and the only meds I take is a centrum, baby aspirin and Glucosamine.

My exercise is walking at least 2 1/2 miles a week.

Re: life - Attention Pat, The Dietician

    Hey Pat,

Is this suggestion accurate?  That one should eat close to the maximum alloted fat grams each day in order for the product to work properly?  I have been eating around 30 grms per day instead of the recommended 54 (12, 18, 3, 18 and 3).

Also, what are the anticipated effects of taking say 4 capsules per day rather than just the 3?

    Thanks,

    Wynne

    Re: life

I think you did a good job, three pages of "life" , so maybe just title a post and people will chat.

I personally don't think employees are asking the questions. The questions aren't really the ones I would be throwing out there, sometimes I think things are just common sense, however; I missed a basic common sense thought and it had an obvious answer.

There is a lot of  "I can't eat blank amount of calories"  It's too much, especially when it's 1800 or 1500.  I got overweight, so obviously I can eat three times that much and not feel stuffed.  Just picky high fat, lots of carbs, fast food.  I'm shocked that people "cant" or are being bogged down by having to eat too many calories  If someone said "eat 3000 calories a day and lose weight, I would say WOOOOOOHOOOOO, bring on the baked potatoes, mexican food, french fries.......I can do fat and calories.

Then there are a lot of other questions, that really I just don't think would be my plan of action for fake people.

I will say, I do have a hard time, eating a low-fat diet that each meal has 15grams of fat.  I buy butter spray NO fat, a carton of egg whites NO FAT, Turkey Bacon a think a couple grams of fat.  Wheat english muffins less than two grams. Cheese, NO fat.

I'm confused with the low-fat diet that is high fat to me.  I am having to consciencely find what I have in the area to get some fat.  I have been on a low fat, healthy carb diet and it worked.........but then I like my Ketel and cranberry juice at night........so calories.I can get, I try to eat a serving of reduce fat salami and reduced fat string cheese with the salami wrapped around it.

If there was something that can bypass carbs..........hey that would be my thing.  I'm trying this and I will eat more fat, but it seems contradictary to "health" I was trying to wipe out bad carbs. I'm going to try to use olive oil a little more and give this a shot.

Plus I am constipated instead of anything else, but we got a Wii for Christmas; I love to dance, a real cluber years ago.  It burns tons of calories and my teens and their friends play too.  We will play a couple hours and that according to the workout calorie counting mode is around 1000 calories...........so definitely I should be losing weight, but I think I'm full of you know what.  If you like to dance and like to compete against your family or computer dancers, it's quite fun and two hours can pass like the blink of an eye.  This workout has been recent.......obviouslly I got fat.  I love Jack n the box Chicken strips, I love mc donalds french fries, I love mexican food, chinese and we eat out a lot. So, I won't sit here and pretend I'm doing everything and not losing weight........I have done my share......oh cheetos are yummy.

I'm real.  I had a high risk Pg this last pregnancy.  I gained 80lbs.  I was on bedrest pretty much the whole time because of dlitation starting in the beginning, and I lost my sons twin, he came  out and my son stayed, but I stayed dilated.  Didn't want a cerclage.  I had a previous mc right before of a twin pg, IVF.......plus that puts weight on you.  I layed in bed scared, Icecream made me no my baby was alive, so I ate that and orange juice alot.  Plus my husband always was ready and waiting to make, go get anything.  I loved the caring he showed and the attention, plus who doesnt' like egg rolls, monster tacos, banana splits..........so I did it, I can eat tons of calories with poor choices.

I have no disc's in two areas of my back, I'm afraid with surgery, so I live with it. I can't do a lot that I used to, but I will work out with pain.  My extra weight puts me in more pain.  I need it off.  I'm cheating and trying this. Did I mention Pizza.????

With all the excercise, I should be deficit calories to the tune of a couple pounds a week.  It didnt' happen and now I have to be at work day to night daily.  I work three months a year but work hard.  I wouldn't mind excersing, but I sweat so much I have to wash my hair, which means no working off the style from the previous day.  So, I don't as much.

I have been using alli about a week give or take a day, maybe a pound lost........but if the constipation goes away, maybe I'll dump five?????/  I don't expect fast weight loss because I do eat low cal and low fat most the time..........so, I'm no going to have that larger beginning loss, I had it a long time ago.

Obviously, I'm still fat, that's my fault. I can tell by the questions there is a good amount of real people..........you can real people talk to me any time..............

Do you think five years is too long to hold on to excess PG weight???  I'm kidding, I know it is, and I thought breastfeeding would make me soooooooo skinny.  I lost 30lbs after PG easy......the fifty, up down..........I'm done being fat though.........so be it alli, or the excercise added to my diet, whatever.............get it done right........

    from,

    real person stacie ;)

    Re: life

    Kathy,

I am a wine- lover myself, and I have had the same trouble!! :) Try drinking your wine in a glass with ice ( it keeps the taste a little longer and you actually drink less) or try planning your snack with your wine (ie- get a little serving of some whole- grain pretzels) so that you know you're going to snack, but you won't overdo it. Believe me, it helps the whole experience become a real treat without becoming a threat to your new lifestyle.

    Hope that helps!!

    Re: life

Just wanted let you know that I LOVE Alli, and I'm a real "life" person. I started the program June 14th, the first day it was available for purchase.  I have lost 38 lbs., and have found this to be the easiest thing I've ever done.

I've done Weight Watchers, South Beach, Atkins, and almost every other fad diet, and Alli has proven to be my magic bullet.

While I stopped losing during the holidays, I was actually SHOCKED to discover that I hadn't gained any weight, which is a first for me during the holidays.  I maintained the whole 2 weeks.
This is the very first "New Year" were I didn't have to obsess with "losing weight" starting January 1st.

I belive Alli to be a life-long friend, and wish you the same success.  I know what foods will make me "pay for" the too much fat, and looking back on my past eating habits, I'm amazed how many fat grams I used to eat.

The only things I really gave up were burgers, fries, and my favorite potato chips.  I've switched to ground buffalo (less fat and calories than chicken) and that's the only burger I'll eat.  I've also discovered FF Lay's Potato Chips which are my salvation.

    Good luck, hope this helps.

    Re: life

I  am a real person and have been using Alli since Oct. 1, 2007.  I have lost 22 lbs. so far.  My goal is to lose 32 more lbs by July.  I am very excited about Alli.  I had tried almost every diet and was very discouraged until I started using Alli.  My husband and I work out together at least 4-5 times a week.  He is also taking Alli and has lost 32 lbs. since Oct. 1.  We have changed our eating habits tremendously and are very pleased with the results.  Today I have on a pair of jeans that I have not worn in about 3 years.  I have only experienced the side effects maybe once or twice but the experience was not an embarrassing one or anything like that.

To those of you are just starting Alli and are having doubts, I encourage you to stick with it.  Make sure you take the pill with each meal (I only eat three meals a day), eat wisely and please get some cardio in--then you will see results.

     Good luck!
