    Met my goal

I am 55 years old, 5'6" and have lost 30 lbs, about 25 while on alli.  I now weigh 138 and have reset my goal (my original goal was 140) to 130.  At that time I need to re-evaluate and will try maintian that wieght.  I can no longer afford the new clothes!!!  Nice problem to have.  I have lost this weight aver a 6 month period and it has been a steady one l-2 a week loss.

     Anyone else?

    Re: Met my goal

Terrific feeling isn't it!!  I am 52 - I have lost 25 lbs since June 1 - also 1 pound per week. Slow but steady.  I have 1 pound to go to reach my goal.  Being healthy is such a good feeling.  I started at 155 and now am at 130- I am 5'2".  I so want to get into the twentys.  Maybe this will be the week.  We should be very proud of ourselves!!  The 50's aren't so bad!

    Re: Met my goal

I am 53, like you 5'6" but originally weighed 196 lbs. I began my program in June and reached my goal around Thanksgiving. I now weigh 141 which is actually 5lbs below my goal weight. Reaching goal is scary and almost like losing a friend. You become so caught up in the way of life.....I actually need to gain weight at this point. I still continue to track my food and am having a hard time adding the calories needed to keep the weight steady at 146-150. I think the mindset is the hardest to control at this point. Don't get me wrong. I am still eating healthier than I ever have in my life with a more balanced diet. I got in such a habit with the 1200 calories that I was on in the end that I continue to keep my calories in that level and at this point am losing weight when I actually need to maintain or even gain a little. First time in my life I have ever had to think about being too thin.

    Re: Met my goal

    Hi Gail,

Congratulations on your success! I am happy to hear that you are aware that there is a limit to how much you should lose. There are many people who can get caught up with losing and lose sight of when to stop.

I hope that you have been celebrating your success!

    Thanks for sharing,
