    I have a question:  Next week I am going to be doing an extreme work out for a test that I will be taking in Krav Maga  Isreal  self defense training.

    The trainer suggested to eat pasta the day before for carbs/ What kind of pasta should I eat.  Also to drink more water the day of testing. I drink  about 64 oz a day now.  Also to have more than a salad for lunch and to eat a bagel or something like about one hour before testing.

    If you could help out it would be greatly appreciated the testing goes for 4 hours.

    Hi Diane,
     

    I will recommend whole wheat pasta,  for eating the night before - it provides great carbohydrates and a rich source of fiber and other important nutrients.  I believe you are drinking sufficient amounts of water, you may need to take about 4 oz of a sport beverage, if necessary.  As for the day of the work out, sometimes is better to drink your meal so it can be digested quickly.  Maybe up to two hours before your work out, then eat the bagel 1 hour before testing as suggested.  You may continue taking alli, but I will suggest checking with your physician or coach.
