    Re: Dizzy!

I found I started feeling very dizzy also. I take no other type of pills and never have. Just vitamins. I loved Alli when I first started taking it because I usually have a hard time with constipation and I went everyday. After about 10 days I was at my dads and very dizzy and tiggly feeling my mom checked ny blood sugar and it was a 33! The 4 days I've been trying to regulate it and eat alot of small meals. I was eating the way I normally had and have NEVER had a problem in the past. Since I stopped taking Alli my levels have gotten alot better I check them every few hours but I was going between 67 and 87 even when I ate. Now that I stopped the Alli there slowly getting normal.

    Re: Dizzy!

    Hi HAMS2145,

Do you normally need to check your blood glucose levels?

Alli blocks the fat from being absorbed and should not effect the glucose levels other than improved insulin response from eating less carbohydrates and losing weight.

    Re: Dizzy!

I have checked it in the past because my dad is diabetic and I just checked to be sure it was ok. It was always in normal range. I have no idea what could have affected this. Today after 5 days off alli my glucose in normal again. I also haven't been tingling or dizzy. Strange I know I just wanted to post incase someone was worried about the same type of issue. Thanks Rita

    Re: Dizzy!

    Hi,

I just thought I might say I have been taking my alli for 3 weeks and I have been dizzy the last couple days. Very dizzy this morning that is why I went on this message board to see if myalli had anything to do with it. All I know is I never had a problem with being dizzy before and I am not taking any other diet medication.

    Re: Dizzy!

    Hi salliejew,

Alli is not associated with causing dizzinesss, it is minimally absorbed and does not have any central nervous systems effects.  Has your diet changed in last couple of days, or have you gone too low in calories or have eaten something different?  Persistent dizziness would need to be checked out with a physician.

    Hope you are feeling better.

    Re: Dizzy!

    Hi,

I've been taking Alli for about two weeks and I've been very dizzy.  I started taking the pills slowly, one every other night with dinner (I have a sensitive digestive system and was worried about that stories of uncontrollable bowels that I've heard about).  I haven't had any digestive problems but the dizziness is making me crazy.  I feel dizzy all the time and when I work out its much worse. I took a martial arts class last night and I started seeing black spots in my vision and had to stop.  I haven't changed my diet (I had already been eating a low fat diet) or my excercise routine.  I've been consuming the same amount of liquid and I'm not taking any supplements, even vitamins. I read that one woman stuck it out and the dizziness went away, has this worked for anyone else?  I hate to give up after just a few weeks because of the obvious financial investment but also because I believe in the product and I hoped it could help me.  Even now as I type this I have a wicked headache and I'm dizzy.   I have always had lowish blood pressure, could the drug some how lower blood pressure?  Thanks for your advice.

    Re: Dizzy!

    Hi Courtney,

Some peole do experience dizziness at the initiation of  taking any new medication and this is also true of Alli.  This should pass after a few days.  Persistent dizziness and headache are not common. Alli does not lower blood pressure, weight loss and exercise though do lower your pressure. How many calories are you eating a day?  Dizziness is common when you are low in the calories. Other than that if it persists you need to stop the Alli for a few days to see how you feel.

    Best of health.

    Re: Dizzy!

I started using Alli about a week ago and am not liking how I have been feeling on it. I have been eating better and exersizing but have been extremley tired and have had headaches for the past week. I also notice that I have been having severe stomach cramps and a lot of gas with oily discharge. I am starting to think that taking Alli is not worth making me feel this way. Is this normal to have severe stomach pain and extreme tiredness?

How much weight do you loose in a month?

    Re: Dizzy!

    Hi bridetobe2008,

Cramping and gas with oily discharge are common with Alli and are manageable by the amount of fat you are eating.  This effect usually occurs in the beginning as your GI tract is adapting to the change in fat digestion.

Headaches and tiredness is associated with extreme dietary changes, as in a sudden reduction of caloric intake or the elimination of certain foods.  It is normally seen when you are decreasing or eliminating sugars and caffeine.  This feeling should go away after a few days.

    Hope this helps.

    Re: Dizzy!

yes, I experienced dizziness as well, when I took a few bites of food!  The room would spin!  I had been dieting for a while (weight watchers) and always drink plenty of water.  aquit taking the alli and dizziness went away.  Went to Dr. and was checked out for thyroid, liver, diabetes, etc.  Doc said thyroid was off just a "tick" and will recheck in 3 months.  It was freaky!  I am ready to try alli again.  Will let you know how it goes...
