    Re: Six Month Anniversary Today

Congrats Judy and everyone that is celebrating their 6 month anniversary.  My 6 month anniversary is in 9 days, January 1st, and so far I have lost 42 lbs.

Everyone is doing an exceptional job.  We all knew how tough this was going to be when we started and through the ups and downs we stuck with it.  Everyone here is a success story whether you are just starting out or celebrating your 6 month anniversary.  Making the committment to start Alli and change your life is the first step to the rest of your new, healthy life.

I have to say that this message board has been and a source of incredible strength and encouragement for me and I would like to thank everyone for being here for me and each other.  Without your help and confidence I don't think that I would have made it.  The most important thing that I have learned is to never give up, stay strong... positive.  And if you feel as if it is all slipping away then go to the message boards.  There is a source of inspiration here that can't be found anywhere else.  This Alli family inspires you to keep going, they renew the desire inside you to be who it is YOU want to be.  They give you strength to pick yourself up and finish what you started out to do.

So... thank you to everyone.  Good luck, keep up the good work.  Oh, and Merry Christmas to all.

    Vickie

    Re: Six Month Anniversary Today

Yesterday was my 6 month. anniversary.

38 lbs. down, 13 inches gone.

Temporarily frustrated by a scale that continues to vacillate and flirt with 196, but oh well. 38 lbs. is a lot.

Setting my sights forward and making small adjustments for continued success.

Cheers and best of success to all,

    Jim Y.

    Re: Six Month Anniversary Today

I started in may and have lost 69 pounds to date. As a matter of fact, I started my maintenance program today. I finally have a healthy BMI weight. I was wondering if anybody knows of a plan here on the boards? Any info would be helpful to me as well as a lot of others. I couldn't have done this without this forum. Now the hard part starts, maintenance.

    Re: Six Month Anniversary Today

I havent been on the message boards for a while and being here tonight reminded me today IS MY 6 MONTH ANNIVERSARY on Alli. : ) yay me.

so, what's changed in my life since i made the commitment to get healthy and feel better about myself... I have lost 50lbs, I feel much better about myself, I fit into clothes half the size of the ones I started out wearing, I've reduced the health risks and my blood pressure, I'm no longer in obese BMI category, and I am really happy with the Alli program and how it's working for me, and I'm working for it.

some other changes, my husband and I have separated, my mom says when you make huge life affirming changes like getting healthy and losing significant amounts of weight, sometimes other things get re-evaluated in your life, and although we'd been together for many years, we werent growing into anything other than an old fat unhealthy couple for the last few years.

focusing on making things better for my life has helped me get through what's been a difficult period and the end result is looking great, feeling even better, and having a future to look forward to.

I still have 20-30lbs left to lose to get to what should be my ideal weight, and I'll get there before summer i think, with all your continued help and support.

thank you all for sharing and caring

    Smith14,

It sounds like you are getting fit both physically and emotionally.  I am very sorry about the separation and maybe that's as far as it will get.  You've come a long way and 20 to 30 pounds is very realistic.  Good luck and enjoy your new life.....
