    Meal Plans

Just starting . . . according to my weight and height an 1800 calorie plan was automatically calculated.  But I have diagnosed thyroid problems and I know from experience I will not lose weight on 1800 calories a day.  I like the idea of following the meal plans, but the how can I adjust the menus to fewer calories and still get all the proportions right?

    Re: Meal Plans

You can use the 1,600 calorie guidelines.  I don't recommend that you go below 1,400 calories -- you won;t lose weight that way either.   Take a look at the top two posts on this message board about why calories and fat are so important on the Alli Program.  It's great information!

Keep in mind that 25% of your fat calories will not be digested.  If you're on thyroid medication (such as synthroid) that will compensate for the metabolic irregularities, and weight loss virtually unaffected.

You might ask the Technical Assistance board if you can adjust the level in your logs.  I know they were working on that option, though I'm not sure it's ready.

I hope this helps.  Please let me know if you need anything else.
