Re: The 155 Girls - Bummed out

It is good to hear that I am not the only one who is bummed out and struggling. I have been between 158 and 162 for the past month and I am so ready to permanently be in the 150's. I have been eating bad a few days a week and not sticking to my diet the way I should. I think these last 15 pounds are going to be the toughest to lose. I know it will be tough to stick to the eating plan this weekend because of a weekend family getaway. I have decided in order to get the last of this weight off that I need to put my eercise plan into high gear.

    Hi, Short Stuff

Boy do we have a lot in common I also work full time and go to school for nursing.  Also, I have a son who will be eight in two weeks and between my son playing little league football and work and school I don't have much time for myself either.  But like you I don't want to be a fat nurse during graduation either.  I also recently bought a treadmill and I have some little 5 lbs weights so I can workout at home and besides the gym is just to expensive and who can find the time anyway.  I am 26 years old and I and I am 5'5, 183 lbs.  However I have been taking alli on and off for about 2 months but this time I am serious about losing the weight.  I wish you all the luck. My main problem is making better food choices, because everything that is bad for you taste so good!!!!!!

Re: The 155 Girls - Bummed out

Nope, you're not the only one!!!  I have been trying to get out of the 170's for forever now!  I started on my own diet in January, and started w/ Alli 2 weeks ago.  I was doing fine w/ my own diet, but there weren't any repercussions if I strayed.  So, I would stray whenever I wanted to.  I've been bummed about not loosing any mor any faster, I've lost 3 lbs in the 2 weeks that I've been on this plan.  But then I realized that I had actually lost before I started.  So, in total since January, I am down 16 lbs.  Not as much as I had aimed for- but hey, at least I'm not UP 16 lbs ;)  Hang in there, you're going to make it permenantly into the 150's, (me too some day) and I'll be in the 160's before we know it!  Best of luck to you!

    Re: The 155 Girls!!!

    Hello everyone!

I am very new to alli. I started on Mother's Day as a gift to myself. Short stuff it sounds like we have a lot in common. I have a son who is 4 years old and I just graduated this May with my Bachelors degree in special education! I gained 30 pounds while in school and I was already a good 30 pounds overweight. I started a diet a month before I graduated to lose some weight for those grad pics.. they still showed all my chins. :)  I can't wait to see us all succeed!

    Re: The 155 Girls!!!

After reading all of the message boards, I finally went out today and started Alli.  I am 5'6 and weight 200.  Wanted to weigh much less for my 20 year reunion in July.  Well, I kept procrastinating.  So I guess even if I lose a little it is better than nothing.  I have struggled my entire life with weight.  Have ranged from 145-205.  I lose it and then put it right back on.  But the older I get, it gets harder to take it off.

My question is.. When taking Alli, if it blocks the fat you are eating, is it taken out of your body through regular bowel movements?  I mean I have read all about TE, but what about when you are doing what you should?  Do you have more bowel movements than normal?

    Re: The 155 Girls!!!

    Hello Everyone!

My name is Yvette and I started on Alli on Monday, May 12.

I had a terrible diet, chips, fast food, fried foods - so going on a low fat diet has been a real change for me.  I have even started drinking Crystal Light.

Until about 10 years ago I was a size 6.  Then diagnosed with Graves disease, I had to have my thyroid treated with radioactive iodine which resulted in hypothyroidism - and weight gain - then a hysterectomy and hormones - and weight gain - then quit smoking which resulted in - you guessed it - more weight gain.  I hate myself and hope that this will work and that it will be something I will stick with - I have a very supportive husband and the thought of TE's is a huge motivator for not cheating.  So far I am very proud of myself for staying in control.

    Here are my stats:

    BW - 195

    CW- ?

    GW - 145

I will let you know how things are going on my next weigh day - Monday the 19th!  I am looking forward to being a part of this group- thanks for reading.

    Re: The 155 Girls!!!

    Hi!

I tried weight watchers, jenny craig, atkins and other diets.   Unfortunately my weight keeps creeping up.   I was a size 4 after the birth of my first son.  He's 7 now, and I am barely fitting into my size 14's.   I'm always skeptical about weigh ins, and perhaps that's why I failed on Diet's before.  I'd like to get back into a size 8!   For now, though, my short term goal is at least fitting into the size 14's I wore last summer.   I've joined a few bike/walk a thons in my area.  I also added an infant seat to my bike, so that I cannot use my 1 year old daughter as an excuse for not going out.

I started Alli on Tuesday 13th.  Bought it for myself as a mothers day gift on Saturday, and began low fat eating right away.   So far, no TE's and that's good!   The toughest challenge will not be eating all the junk food at the soccer and t ball games.   I need to do this, though.  I have three children and can barely keep up with them.  It's time to start looking after myself.

My biggest obstacle, is my husband.  He wants his "tiny" wife back, but constantly seems to sabatoge my diets.  He came home with Cold Stone Creamery last night!  I could of cried!  So far....so good.....please keep me motivated....and hopefully....together....we can all be 'BIG LOSERS"   :)

    Re: The 155 Girls!!!

I have noticed that I have more bowel movements than usual and they are a little softer but nothing too bad.  However I have had a TE before and they are nothing nice!!!    : )

I am in the exact same boat.  I did soooo well for 5 months!!!!  And now I've lost it.  I got down to 160 - got so exacted about getting into the 150's - and now I am 163!!!!  and it's all my fault.  I have to get started again.  What's wrong with me.  I was so close . . .

Well, I do know it's not worth beating yourself up about it. You are still down a good 20lbs! That is awesome!

I keep thinking of "better" choices when I do go off the plan. Like instead of a chilli cheese dog, I'll do a hot dog with mustard. I know neither one is really that good, but the mustard dog is "better" than the chilli cheese dog.

It's not the ultimate best choice, but I know I wouldnt have gone off the deep end with my choice.

keep going, stay mentally in the game, and I think posting here helps a lot too.

    I feel better already!!!  :-)

    Re: The 155 Girls!!!

Help!!  I'm trying to check-in with Allie, but it keeps asking me to start over or go on maintenance.  I don't want to start over, I want to continue.  But every link brings me to the same screen.  I can't even find a help screen.
