    Re: Just curious...

Wow! Wow! Wow! Thank you all for the testimonies as to how Alli has helped you and is helping you. I'm definately gonna give it a try. I've already started eating better..yeah, yeah..I MADE myself give up pizza and lasagna and most breads and am now more eating fish and fruits. I'm not at all a salad person and I can't stand the smell of mayonaise, let alone eat it..haha! I'm gonna be getting on this pill real soon and once I do, I will come back and post my results with hopes it will encourage newcomers, just as you all have and still are encouraging me.

My story is I've always been on a "diet"..haha! I tried water pills (did nothing but make me potty..haha..guess that's what it's supposed to do) tried the diet pills you can buy over the counter and eventually I went to my doctor and he put me on a diet pill and I started losing the weight but I've moved to another state now and no longer have that doctor. I want to try Alli before I go to a doctor for a prescription. I currently weight 263 and I'm 5'3 with a small body frame, so I KNOW i should be smaller. My overall health is great but we do have heart problems that runs in the family as well as diabetes and I'm trying to avoid all that so i should start now, while I'm younger (38).

It's hard for me to exercise when it's cold, so I've gotta find another alternative or start thinking better on that but I get very active in the spring/summer/fall.

I've been interested in this product since it went on the shelf but was hesitant because I really didn't know if it worked. I've got Lipozene sitting here on my desk as I write you..haha! Didn't work as good as they say.

One other thing that may help is that Walmart has this vitamin that is for weightloss also. It's a multi-vitamin by Equate called diet smart and it is ephedra free. I have found just by taking it alone, it curbs my appetite, so imagine what Alli and this multi-vitamin would do together for ya.

Keep the postings coming in cuz I feel like it's not just helping ME but helping to encourage each other and prospective newcomers. THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR INPUT, I have not taken it lightly!

Stay in good health and good luck with your weightloss!

    Re: Just curious...

I've been taking the product since mid-January, so just about a month, and have lost 10 lbs.  I love it!  Like the other replies, it helps keep me on track or I'll pay the treatment effect penalty!  Plus, not only am I writing everything down, I also track calories, fat, and carbs.  I never did that before...!  As the ad says, Alli is your friend...and I really look on it that way, that I'm not in this alone.  Silly image, I know, but it works.  Go for it!

That is wonderful Congrats to you.  I have been on Alli for 3 weeks and lost 11 pounds.  Once the weather gets better here I will be able to get outside and get more exercise.  I have been keeping to a low fat diet and things seem to be working just fine for me.  I believe this is a great diet pill.

    Re: Just curious...

I have only been on Alli a week and have lost 6 pounds.  I am one of those that has tried nearly everything.  I have no will power to speak of but also have horrible eating habits.  For most of my adult life I have eaten 1 meal a day.  One of the most trying changes for me is to try to plan a meal at leas three times a day.  I also was recently diagnosed as Type 2 diabetic and my dr. is hoping to control it with diet so I really want this to work.  I have to say, I am very, very happy with the 6 pound loss in one week!

I plan to stick to this.

    Re: Just curious...

HI - I went on Alli last year and lost 15 lbs. Gained it back so I am back on it. It really works and the great thing is you can eat all the great foods you love. Bread, pasta, etc. Remember you dont have to count carbs - just fat grams and calories. I love this way of eating. Right now I am having for dinner pasta with clam sauce ( made with chopped clams, wine parsley and garlic - no oil), a glass of my Favorite wine - savignon blanc from New Zealand, and a green salad with a small piece of french bread, This is such a great product and really works. Remember to take the multivitamin. that actually helps you lose more weight.

    Re: Just curious...

I too am 5'3" and over 200 pounds.  I don't have a small body frame, so my goal isn't to get down to what is generally considered a healthy weight for my height.  I just want to see 175 or better again.  At that weight, I look good, I feel good, and while still considered "obese" I'm happy with myself.  I am anxiously awaiting parts for my treadmill so that I can get back on that and get active again (it's been broke for 3 weeks).  My goal, once that gets fixed, is to do cardio in the morning, and strenth training in the evening.  I'm hoping for that to start this weekend.  In the meantime, since the weather broke for the time being, I may run outside when I get home.  My road happens to be half a mile long, so a good 3 laps makes me feel great.  Good luck to you!

    Re: Just curious...

I have been on ALLI since the end of Jan. I have lost 11 pounds. For reasons unknown to myself or my doctors I gained 17 pounds from August to Dec. and I decided that it was time to get started. I have currently lost 11 pounds. I have had some treatment effects at my own fault. I plan to continue on this plan as long as I can I have a weight loss goal of 60 total pounds or more.

    Re: Just curious...

I'm also new to Alli. I've been on it for a week and haven't lost an ounce. I go to the gym and exercise for an hour 3x a week. After reading some of your messages here, I have a dumb question. Do we really HAVE to eat 15 or 18 grams of fat per meal?   I thought it was per day. I've never eaten that much in a meal. I don't exactly get it. Maybe I'm not reading the labels correctly.

    I need help.

    Re: Just curious...

Well I've been on this for a little over 3 weeks and am finding it hard to find good food to stay under the limits.  I'm getting bored with instant oatmeal for breakfast.  Can anyone give me some information on good foods that are lower in calories and fat?

I have lost some weight but it's not as much as the others have on here... I would say 10 pounds but I haven't officially weighed myself yet for fear of disappointment.

    Re: Just curious...

     Hello All,

I'm the one that started the post originally. I have been working six days a week and haven't been able to get to the boards. I see every one is doing great. I too am down about 10 pounds. I know the progress is slow, but I'm O.K.  with that. I feel great! I have keep up the exercise and I'm also much tonier than when I started. I'm had weeks that I didn't have a loss.

I just keep on the plan. I will get there that is the main thing I tell myself.....if I stop I won't!

This helps keep me going. Hang in there all. I'll try to get to the boards more.

Keep going everyone...Spring is in the air.

    Re: Just curious...

    Hey Patrice,

Hang in there, it took me almost 2 weeks of just food hunting before I got started.  Yes it is per meal, it confused me as well.  I went out before I started taking the pill and bought all kinds of low fat or no fat foods, then come to find out, It wasn't really necessary.  I do alright, haven't had any treatment affects in the last 3 weeks.  I find chicken is an excellent meat and pork, beef is pretty high in fat.  Also, I buy the Healthy Choice meals too as they are one of the best.  My friends all tease that I am TOO decicated, but it's all worth it.

I too, feel like i'm eating so much at times just to get all my fat, calories is way to easy to overload on.  But I am also finding that Alli says it's important to get as close as possible to the fat intake.  I recommend you just take some time to go to the store and do some label shopping.  Cheese is very high in fat so that is one thing I do buy in fat free. Another trick I have done is I bought peanut butter (low fat even) and keep in my lunch bag, so that if I do have a low fat meal, since it is very high in fat, I just figure up wether I can have one or two tablespoons to make up my fat intake.

I hope this is somewhat helpful.

     Best of luck to you,

    Michelle

    Re: Just curious...

Thanks, Michelle, for the answer. BUT, do you mean that I have to eat more fat than I usually do just so Alli pill can take off 25% of it. I don't get the point! I can get by on non-or low fat foods without Alli. Have I missed something?

     Please answer my conumdrum! Everyone.

    Re: Just curious...

    Patrice,

I could be misinterpreting what I read but my understanding is:  The amount of fat that you are allowed per meal is the maximum amount you are allowed per meal.  Not that you must eat that much!  Alli is going to prevent the absorption of 25% of the fat you take in, be it 3 grams or 19 grams a meal.  So, no, you do not have to eat that maximum amount and you will probably do even better when you don't.  I have not consumed the maximum allowed at a single meal yet and I have been on the diet almost two weeks.

OK, now that interpretation makes sense. I get it. Much appreciate for your straightening out my head.

    Re: Just curious...

I started the program in mid January and have lost 22 pounds as of today.  I think as long as you follow the guidelines and really watch what you eat it works very well.  Good Luck.
