    8 days in.....I'm losing!

    Hello...I am so happy! I am down 3 lbs in 8 days.I believe that alli does work. I admit I was sceptical at first.I know it isn't a lot of weight, especially compared to some people I have read about but I am satisfied. I seem to have a hard time losing weight. Sometimes it would take me a month to lose a few lbs.I think I can acheive my goals with the help of alli.

    Great job!!!

    I just started this Tuesday and I already know I will be successful if I just stick with it.  I feel great because I am making good food choices and, as a result, I do not feel like I am starving or deprived.  I, of course, would love to wake up and be thin, but I really want to lose it at a moderate rate so that my body and mind have time to adjust.  I don't want to have to worry about sagging skin or not learning how to maintain healthy eating habits for a lifetime.  Otherwise it is just a crash diet and I am through with those.

    Hi Marti,
    My first piece of advice to you is to not compare yourself to anyone on here. There are so many things that can impact how quickly someone loses so it's not going to help you to compare your loss to anyone else's.

    I am also in day 8 and have lost 6 lbs and I only take a pill at lunch and dinner, I am also walking on my awesome treadmill for 30 mins 4-6 times a week.

    Hello Soleilmiah.

    How are you doing? I tried to post a reply to you but it didn't go through. It is important to have bowel movements. I have found that adding fiber to my diet helped this. I eat cereal for breakfast a lot and I try to make it high fiber.I also eat whole grain breads.

     Sometimes the changes we see are small ones but they add up over time. Don't give up! Give it time to work. Try not to get discouraged.

    Hi Soleilmiah,

    Constipation can impact your weight loss and health. Fortunately, there are things that you can do to help with this. 

    Here are some common causes:

    • Fat - if you have not been reaching your fat goal at each meal this could be contributing to the problem. Many people find relief once they reach their fat goal.
    • Iron - if your multivitamin has iron in it you will want to change to one without iron if you are not iron deficient
    • Fiber - many people do not get enough fiber in their diet. You can take a supplement like Metamucil to help with this.
    • Fluid - without enough fluid, your fiber intake will not matter. The fluid is going to help you go so try for 64 oz per day, with at least half from water
    • Binding foods - the BRATT diet (bananas, rice, applesauce, tea and toast) is used to treat diarrhea because it is binding. Cut these foods out until you are regular again. Cheese can also cause a problem so limit that for now.

    Give these a try and you should have some relief,

    It is always good to hear success stories. I have to admit I didn't think Alli would work for me I have tried all the diet pills out there and then I also tried weight watchers and that was really slow progress for me. Well I have been on Alli for 14 days now and I love lost 6 lbs and I feel great. I love the foods I eat, I actually look forward to eating and don't feel like I'm cheating.  If anything everyone should take away knowing how to eat right and paying attention to the nutrition facts.

    Stick with and read your books they really help.

    Great job Stephanie!

    This is the end of my third week. I am down 2 more lbs! A total of 5lbs in three weeks. I am very happy with how much I have lost so far.I usually seem to lose slowly ( extremely slowly ) so I have no complaints. As long as I'm losing, I'm not gaining:-) I still am not exercising the way I need too. That is what I plan on working on now.I think my weight loss could increase if I added more physical activity.

    Hi Marti!

    Congrats on the weightloss. I am almost two weeks in and I have lost 8lbs and I am truly excited. It only happened by trial and error. I had to figure out what worked for my body. The first week I gained 4lbs, so I have lost those 4lbs plus and additional 4. I saw the difference when I added fiber to my diet. I am already a water drinker so this really helped. I eat cereal high in fiber early in the morning. I have NEVER been a breakfast person, but does make a great difference. Best of Luck!
