Is it safe for an teenager?

Hi, my name is Anndrea and i have an 13 year old daughter that weighs 317 lbs and is 5'8". I tried everytjhing to get her to loss weight. I am trying to get rid of the weight i gain wheni was expacting my last child in 2004. I have been srtuggling due to still greiving the loss of my aunt in 2003. I know this has effected her as well since they were very close. Would alli be effective in helping her to loss weight?

The bottle states Alli is for overweight adults, 18 and older. I assume this is for legal reasons. I would be discussing this with your daughter's doctor, and also as him/her to do a full physical, complete with blood work to ensure there is no underlying medical cause for her obesity.

I agree. If you are considering giving her Alli I suggest talking to her doctor first. It may not be a good choice for her, because there probably isn't any research on the effects of Orlistat on growing children.

Alli is approved for use only in adults, as is stated on the label.  You might want to have your daughter see a registered dietitian for a few sessions to help with a menu that will also help with your daughter's special nutritional needs at this time of her life -- as well as help her to lose weight.

To find a dietitian in your area go to www.eatright.org - the website of the American Dietetic Association.

    I hope this helps.
