    SlimFast drinks

I can't find anything in the program about SlimFast products.  I'm not much a breakfast eater, and am at work by 6am, so I have been drinking SlimFast shake as my breakfast.  Is this an ok substitute for a meal on the go?

    Re: SlimFast drinks

I DON'T SEE WHY NOT. I JUST STARTED A LOW FAT DIET MYSELF AND I BOUGHT SLIM FAST TOO FOR MY BREAKFST. JUST AS LONG AS YOU STAY WITHIN YOUR FAT AND CALORIE INTAKE YOU SHOULD BE FINE. GOOD LUCK!

    Re: SlimFast drinks

I havnt been able to find anything wrong with drinking the slim fast shakes.
For awhile I wasnt very into breakfasts, I would always drink the shakes.
They taste great and they keep me full for awhile- if you're getting the optima shakes.
They're ideal for a meal on the go- I think its a safe bet.

    Have a good one!

    Re: SlimFast drinks

There is nothing wrong with taking slim fast while taking alli. Slim fast shakes are literally a meal they keep you full for a long time they contain 190 calories and 6 grams of fat so by taking them ur definitely staying withing ur calorie and grams of fat intake limit. I have a shake with a toasted wheat bread for breaskfast and for lunch I have another shake with half a turkey sandwich and Im staying withing my calorie and fat gram intake. Then for dinner I have Lean Cuisiene meals and of course I snack in between but I only have 2 snacks a day both of which contain 100 calories each and 3 grams of fat each. So yeah i will def. keep taking slim fast especially if you dont have much time on your hands like I do to prepare meals.Good Luck!

    Re: SlimFast drinks

Reading the label. Slim Fast are very nutrient filled.

600 mg Potassium; 5 Grams of Fiber; 10 grams of Protein; 50% of you daily Calcium Requirments; 100% of Vitamin C requirements.

One of my fav breakfasts that comes close to the 400 requirement (for those on 1,800 calories) is:

Slim Fast Optima (can) 190 calories/6g fat

1 Thomas English Muffin Toasted 120 calories/1 grams of fat

(on top) 1 slice Kraft Fat Free Cheese Single 30 calories/0 fat

    1 cup frozen Blueberries 70 calories/o fat

total 410 calories and 7 grams of fat

Lower in fat that the 19 gram recommendation. But I am always low on fat at Breakfast.

    Re: SlimFast drinks

I was wondering if you drink a Slim Fast shake only for a meal, should you use an Alli pill with it?It only has 6 grams, not sure that's worth a pill use.

    Re: SlimFast drinks

Hi.. It is my understanding that as long as you are well under the fat grams, the pill is not necessary for that particular meal..

The guideline we use is if a meal has 5 grams of fat or less you can skip the capsule.  But that shouldn't be for more than one meal a day...

You might add a breakfast bar to the 6 gram shake; or have a slice of whole grain toast with peanut butter to bring your fat closer to your recommended amount and take the capsule.

    Re: SlimFast drinks

If take a slimfast drink, put it in the blender with a banana and some ice, it makes the best milkshake, for when you're craving something sweet, and you want a snack.  It fills you up, and is so good for you.

    Hi

I'm new to the alli plan and not real big on breakfast so your idea on a slim fast drink & a banana sounds good for breakfast.  Thank you

    Re: SlimFast drinks

I agree- and definately going to add the banana to my slimfast at breakfast tomorrow...I'm glad I finally read this thread, I wondered if I was the only one doing slimfast and alli at the same time..breakfast is just a really hard meal for me to get down durring the week, but I knew I needed to have something, so I have been using the slimfast optima since day one..  I usually get down 10 or 15lbs and then nothing- I get stuck...I'm down 24 now and still going 1-2lbs a week.

    Re: SlimFast drinks

I take the slim fast low carb. It has 20g of protein, 190 calories, 6g carbs, and 8g of fat. I get the chocolate and it tastes great I use this as a breakfast drink.

    Re: SlimFast drinks

I will have one for breakfast, and I have been taking Alli since Labor day last year.

If you can find the powdered mixes, they have some neat recipes on their website so you can change it up.

    Re: SlimFast drinks

I tend to lean on the Atkins shakes because of the slightly higher fat content. Well, that, and I'm addicted to their new mocha cappucino flavor. :) Trying to  always add a piece of fruit, a teaspoon of Fiber sure, which I swear by to reduce treatment effects.  Had my first out of town trip this weekend since starting Alli, and that made the perfect breakfast. :)  For the other meals, I just ate a third of what was on my plate (portions were HUGE) and tried to lean toward lean and green.  It worked out fine. Even lost a pound!

    I LOVE this program. :)
