Re: I just took my very last alli pill.

Fantastic!  I hope you'll keep us posted on your progress.  I'm a little nervouse about adapting to the maintenance stage, but I have plenty of time before it's my turn for that!  I can see myself using the website tools for the rest of my life, they're so helpful to me.

    Enjoy Vegas!

Re: I just took my very last alli pill.

Hey forkush did it, one of my own did it, and I call you that because I started with you and have read your inspirational posts all the way through.  How you managed that last ten pounds is beyond me.  I have about 100 pills  and 10 pounds left and then I don't think I will buy another bottle, so I have to make this count.  You are just something else, that's all, amazing, wonderful, and inspiring.  I can't imagine being in Vegas and not going hog-wild.  I don't think I've ever met a buffet table I didn't like.  Please don't desert us (or dessert us) now, forkush, stay on the board and let us know how you're doing.  I am saying, if you can do it I can do it, and I'm going to make sure I do.

    BettyKovacs:

    Hi Forkush,

Now I am jealous ;o) I hope that you are having a blast in Vegas. How are you and your new body doing out there? With the success that you have had with your weight I doubt that it even matters if you win anything there!

    You are definitely an inspiration!

    Betty Kovacs, MS, RD

Thank you for asking, Betty. (And thank you again everyone for your kind words.)

Me and my new body survived Sin City just fine. I didn't gain any weight in the restaurants and my wallet didn't lose any weight in the casinos, so I can't imagine being a bigger winner. And I'm confident but not foolhardy, so I didn't visit any buffets.

While I didn't plan any exercise, losing my car in the parking structure of the new Palazzo Resort turned out to be a stroke of genius. I got in some serious long distance walking.

And to answer your question Marissa, l've lost 51 pounds so far, which is an average of 1.7 pounds per week. I think that is a phenomenally fast pace for someone with "only" 50 pounds to lose on a sensible, balanced diet program. But I had every advantage possible, including the alli plan, perfect family support, fantastic exercise options, and living walking distance to a Trader Joe's. Your mileage may vary, but ultimately, everyone here can do this.
