    Re: HOLA BORICUAS AND LATINOS

Hi Zuly and everyone else that reads this,

I'm also a boricua livin in Ponce, PR. I've just started the program and it's workin out great so far. The only thing that I don't use is the menu log cause alot of the foods that are suggested are not part of our criollo diet. What i've been doin is combining my alliplan with a puertorican nutricianist. I use to be in doctors weight lost and I'm using those menus that are more criollos. So far I've lost 7 pounds in 2 weeks thats more lost then the last diet i was in. One of my favorite reciepes that I modified is the pastelón de platanos or piñon like we call it down in ponce. Instead of frying the platanos you boil it then mash add alittle of flour for body. Then make one layer of the platano mix, a layer of lean ground beef, a layer of green beans, then another layer of platano mix like a lasagnia. Beat an egg then pour the batter over the last layer, then bake in the oven for 30-45 minutes and then cut in squares and serve. Its delicious and it tastes just like fyied, only healthier. Hope you try it. Remember the portion size is one of the most important factor in losing weight.

    Take care,

    Sheila Marie

    Re: plantain

LOL with the DDR and the big ball. I do the same thing. I started this diet back at the end of June last year. I started at 187, I'm 138-140 now, I seem to be steady around that weight now for a the last two months. With the exercise ball, I'm starting to show muscles in my stomac and with the DDR my legs are looking good. Anyway I feel really good. Thanks for the translation of the names there, I from California, live in Miami now and I usually get confuse, and don't know what they are talking about when they mention guineos, batata, yucca, morongo, etc. I always eat that stuff here now, and it's definitely good to know the calorie and fat content.

Thanks! Good look - the plan really works if you really stick to their guilines and eat the amount of fat and calories that it advises.

     Hi, Gilroy:

Where are you from? I know that from P.R. Which city? I am Puertorrican too. I have just started on this plan how did it work for you? I love arroz con gandules. I know that is my downfall. :-)
