those of you on the plan for a while that have lost weight

I am looking to do this plan long term and am on  my third week, I lost the first week, but haven't since.  I was reading the fat and calorie advice and for all of those that have been using this plan over a longer period of time and have taken the weight off, were you meeting the fat and calorie intake guidelines?  Thanks

Thank you, our starting weights are almost the same, and you have almost lost 30 since then, so I am going to try and up my intake and see how it goes.  Thanks

Re: those of you on the plan for a while that have lost weight

I have been using Alli since mid June and have lost 39 lbs. I have been meeting the calorie intake, but sometimes, I don't allow myself the amount of fat grams I'm supposed to have.  The first week I started Alli, I lost more weight than I have in weeks since. (I think that a lot of it was water weight)

Re: those of you on the plan for a while that have lost weight

I have lost 85 pounds on alli and stick pretty close to my 1800 calories a day (although I average about 1750).  I hardly ever eat 60 grams of fat and usually average around 45 grams per day.

Re: those of you on the plan for a while that have lost weight

Hi-I actually have "my story" under the real alli user thing.  I did follow the calorie and fat recommendation they made.  However, I chose the foods that I love.  It is much easier to keep the weight off when you are done if you like the diet you are on. I am learning that this really is a lifelong process and the two best things I think you can do are 1) track what you eat, and 2) work out a healthy diet that you love (not like) so you want to stay on it for life.   Also, I prefer to include "healthy" fats like olive oil as opposed to other kinds. Good luck.

Re: those of you on the plan for a while that have lost weight

Yellow! u are on the right track!!

yes we need to meet our cal and fat % everyday (or try to).. before doing that u might want to see wht your daily cal requirements are.. use this website to figure out ur cal needs http://www.freedieting.com/tools/calorie_calculator.htm  .. select the little/no exercise bucket.. u will get ur maintaince cals.. dont bother with the fatloss and extrem FL ...

from ur maintance cal u will need to remove 500( for 1lb , and 1000 for 2lb loss) .. for example if ur Maintance cals are 2000.. u remove 500 for a 1500 daily cals... in this 1500 u will need 30-65% crabs, 20-35 % fat and rest is for protein.. in addition to cutting 500 cals in food u can exercise to burn burn abt 100-200 cals every day to see more than 1lb loss per week..

    i hope this helps u

Re: those of you on the plan for a while that have lost weight

I've been using allisince july 23rd- with two breaks for european trips- and i've consistently lost. I did see the nutrition logs as a guideline and did my own research via http://www.freedieting.com/tools/calorie_calculator.htm to work out what I needed to reduce my cal intake to, and I used the nutrient calculator to get the totals i should shoot for each day. I eat less than the 1800 cals 60 grams of fat. I take that as the most I could eat but i average about 1300 cals a day and under 40 grams of fat. that actually works for me. My body isnt in starvation mode, I'm eating the right balance of nutrients. The key is finding out what is right for your body based on your actual information (age, activity level count a great deal) and keeping very detailed and honest logs of what you put in your mouth.

I've lost 50 lbs, so I won't argue with success

    good luck!

Thank you for all the great responses. I am gonna stick to this and just use the help from everyone else until I figure out what is working for me.  Thanks!  Also, I love reading the success stories for the long time users, gives those of  us that just started this journey dedication and hope.

Re: those of you on the plan for a while that have lost weight

    HEY

I STARTED ALLI ON 7/7/07 AT 243 LBS 5'5" I AM NOW AT 195 LBS I AM SUPPOSE TO EAT 1800 CAL A DAY BUT I LIMIT MYSELF TO 1400 CAL AND I TRY TO STAY UNDER 30 FAT GRAMS A DAY I EAT THREE MEALS A DAY. I HAVE LOST MORE WEIGHT ON ALLI THAN ANY OTHER DIET I HAVE TRIED. I HAVE CHEATED A COUPLE OF TIMES BUT I TRY NOT TO FEEL GUILTY AND I ONLY CHEAT WHEN I CHEAT FOR 1 MEAL AND THEN I JUST GET RIGHT BACK ON MY EATING HEALTHY. I HAVE NEVER EATEN THIS HEALTHY BEFORE AND I FEEL SO MUCH BETTER AND I NOW KNOW THAT THIS IS A LIFETIME THING FOR ME I WILL ALWAYS HAVE TO WATCH MY WEIGHT AND I PLAN ON DOING THAT FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE. I AM GOING TO BE 50 IN APRIL AND I WANT TO BE A FINE 50 NOT A FAT 50. GOOD LUCK TO YOU AND HANG IN THERE BECAUSE THERE WILL BE TIMES WHEN YOU DON'T LOSE ANYTHING JUST DON'T GIVE UP.

Re: those of you on the plan for a while that have lost weight

    Welcome,

    I've been on Alli since June 25th and I'm down 74 lbs.  I'm in the 1800 calories - 52 fat grams a day group but realisticly, I don't go over 1500 / 45 a day.

This is the plan that I've been able to stay with and actually get rid of weight.

Congratulations on joining the Alli family.
