Of course it isn't a silly question.  If you haven't done it before how could you know.  Just go to the message boards.  Click on which ever venue you want to post in.  "Personal Experiences" is the most popular so I would post there.  Look at the top left hand side and you will see a little blue rectangle that says 'write a post'.  Click on the rectangle and you can write your own post, or 'thread' as they are called here.  For instance, the one you posed your question on "Users with 50 lbs. to lose to Reach Goal Weight,"  is a thread that someone started in "Personal Experiences."  I hope this isn't confusing.  Try it.  It is easy to do.

    Re: ***DOGGIE NAMES !!!!

     Hi Lisa:

The puppy is a boy and it will be for Hershey as a companion.  I love how you come up with names.  This little guy was born last Saturday, and I haven't even seen him yet so I don't know about markings yet.  It is fun adding possible names to a list.  Then Dave, Jason and I have to decide what we want.  I like the name Lucky, because we are "Lucky" to have him.  I am definitely added that to my list.

Thanks again for all of your suggestions.

     Ter

Loved your post. I think its wonderful how well you've done. I really like this program. My pounds are slow, but that;s my doing in the hand to mouth department. But when I'm following it correctly it really works well. I'm starting to walk more than i ever have. My method of work out is in the gym and pushing myself to exhaustion.I wonder if I just do it slow would I be more successful. So I'm going to experiment here in the next few weeks with slowing the exercise down at least by the intensity.

    Hope your day goes well

Re: ***Users with 50 lbs. to lose to Reach Goal Weight***

I'm new to all this and haven't quite figured out how to use the message board just yet...sorry to piggy back off your thread, Nai2White. I don't mean to sound crazy, but can someone please tell me how to stick to the plan. I tried it, got freaked out by the "side-effects", stopped taking the Alli, in fact I threw it away...yes, I know that was dumb. Now I'm in such a slump, I'm disappointed in how much I've let myself go...and I know "exactly" what I need to do, it's just doing it!! Please, I'm desperate for any advise that has worked for others out there. Thanks. Traci from Galveston.

Re: ***Users with 50 lbs. to lose to Reach Goal Weight***

I'm still trying to figure out how to use this system, but my problem seems to be that I don't actually eat enough fat either.  My other prevailing problem is that I work so many hours that I skip meals.  Why aren't I skinny????  I don't know, but when I weighed in last week I was 2.6 pounds lighter than I was yesterday.  I'm hoping that the constant contact with you ladies (and gentlemen) will help me to remain focused.  I'm also hoping to get a grip on my work life so that I can go home, have dinner at a reasonable hour and get some rest.  Thanks for being there - all of you.

    Re: ***Farm Animals

Liz, I was checking out some other sites and I found where you talked about your horses.  What do you have? I know from another post that you live on a 9 acre parcel where you take walks to strenghten your feet.  We have 6 of our own and we are boarding 3 more, along with all our other farm animals (wild pigs, cats, dogs, ducks, bunnies and a couple turtles wandering around).  Oh yeah forgot the 9 kids running around also.....We mostly use the horses for trail riding. We live next to a 60 acre state park that is great for riding.  My oldest is giving lessons this summer for some extra money.  She is 16 and can not decided what she wants to do after high school.  Physical therapist(for horses) or vet.  The vet thing probably won't fly because she found out that schooling is years and years.  Just thought I would ask.... Hope you are doing better since the surgery.  Lisa

Ter:  Thanks for your message.  I think it is very important to do as your doctor instructed and it seems to have paid off for you.  Keep up the great work.

Re: ***Users with 50 lbs. to lose to Reach Goal Weight***

     Hi Traci:

I am not taking the Alli anymore myself; however, I am following weight watchers.  This seems to work for me.  I think you have to put your mind in a certain place.  Instead of saying "I need to lose weight", say to yourself "I want to be healthy".  If you decide to be healthy then every time you are about to put something in your mouth, ask yourself if it is healthy.  Common sense.  Other ways to make yourself healthy is to take a vitamin supplement and to exercise.  Start slow and build on it.  Then if anyone asks you if you are trying to lose weight, you say No, I'm trying to be healthier.  Many people here take Alli and do WW or something else.  Just remember it took time to put it on and it will take time to take it off.  But with the right mind-set, you can accomplish anything.

Obviously, as you can see by my goal, I want to be "less" and any bit less is good.  :o)

    Good luck!

    Re: ***Farm Animals

Liz and Lisa, i think its cool ya'll have farms!!! i love horses however i haven't rode in years. they're really isn't anywhere around here where you can just go "rent a horse for a day" lol. eventhough its in the backwoods country.  i don't even think i could get my fat butt up on a horse! i would need a ladder b/c i seriosly don't think i could throw myself over like i use to! lol too funny!

how is everyone today? i see we have even more newbies although it looks like they chime in but don't stick around not like the originals (copper quads, liz and lisa) oh well. im doing okay i guess my mood stinks but im following my diet regulations! lol drinking my water may find some time to exercise today as i think it will help with my frumpiness!

anyhoo, i hope you all have a good day!

    Re: ***Farm Animals

Janet, thanks but im good. i just get like this when tom is here. i have so much going on and im just drained! ive been looking to see how to get foreclosure listings locally for free or at minimal costs to see if we coudl purchase one fix it up then have it ready for when we can finally move out of our apartment or either sell it and make a profit. and i wanted to try and get pregnant at the end of the year but i guess not now since we can't move until next july...i guess timing is just not right yet. that would be wayyyy too much financially to go on and it would be too much on me and andrew! just sooo much going on in my little head! lol well i should say my big head! hahaha j/k

so where is nyla? why has she not been on....yeah i know kids are out of school but come on with the excuses they play! j/k

so did you decide on a name for the new pup yet?

Re: ***Users with 50 lbs. to lose to Reach Goal Weight***

Hey, in order for Alli to work optimally for you,  you hafta get in the right amount of calories and fat.  If you work long hours, can you carry snacks/food with you to munch on every few hours.  You need to fill out the nutrition log to see how close you are coming to meeting your nutritional needs, including calories and fat.  To meet your fat requirements just eat a little peanut butter, some nuts, some cheese, or some whole diary products.  Some of those protein/ energy bars are good sources to have on hand to when you're pressed for time but need to eat something.  You're losing weight so you must be doing better than you think.  It really isn't good to skip meals though.  Surely you get breaks at work.  It only takes a couple of minutes to eat an energy bar, some yogurt, etc.  Let us know how your next weigh in goes.
