Re: ***Users with 50 lbs. to lose to Reach Goal Weight***

I've discovered that if I exercise before bed that I can sleep without all the racing thoughts & I get up feeling

better in the mornings. My hubby has always thought my depression was just something that I could snap out off.

Just like he thought I could lose weight on my own!No one here at home has asked me how I'm doing or when I tell them I've lost a pound or two they don't pay attention. How does that help one?

I've also try to do more crafting/scrapbooking to help occupy my mind.

I want to say thanks to everyone here for listening & all the encourageing words.

Re: ***Users with 50 lbs. to lose to Reach Goal Weight***

bec130, its not that men don't notice its just that it has to be drastic for them to say anything! lol at least that's hwo it is with my husband! ive learned in this weight loss journey that i have to do it for myself and no one else. yes i would love encouragement from my family however ive come to expect that its not gonna happen! that's how i have found this thread. i have made wonderful friends here that supply all the encouragement i need. if my husband says something thats a bonus! remember that 1-2lbs isn't always gonna be visible. and i know its hard b/c my husband stilll brings home the most unhealthy food ever. and always wants to eat out! its just up to me to make sure i stay on track ( i usually don't; this week is gonna start a new era for me! lol) just remember to do what makes you happy and keep up the EXERCISING!!

to everyone else, so ive had a wonderful weekend...i haven't eaten good at all (well it actually wasn't too bad) but to me it wasn't heatlhy. i did all my grocery shopping yesterday and bought all kind of vegetables and yogury and fruit. and ive decided despite the heat (excuses..excuses..excuses) im gonna walk at lunch......ill just take a tank top and change out of my scrubs so they don't get all sweaty (yuck). but that's the only way im gonna do it is if i do my exercise during the day b/c once im home im down for the count. yes i use andrew as an excuse but in reality im just to darn tired and lazy to get back out! lol we've all been there. okay well we have a busy day ahead of us so im gonna finish up checkin mail and drinking yes my second cup of coffee (bad me.....)

    happy losing!!

Hello everyone.  Well, I have been taken alli for 4 days and am pleased that I went down 3 pounds.  I have been reading some of the posts and it is nice to see everyone being so supportive of everyone.  My biggest problem is getting in some excersise.  I am not a morning person but by the time I come home from and get dinner and everything taken care of I just want to relax.  I am just going to have to start forcing myself to do something.

Hope to talk with everyone soon!!

Hi Tracy:  Started Alli two weeks ago today and have lost 5 pounds.  This weekend has been pretty tough, and my next weigh in is Tuesday.  Today was extremely hard because we had a dinner after church and Oh Boy, what a spread of food.  I did pretty good, but could have probably done better.  I  am trying to lose 50 pounds, well 45 now, if I didn't put any back on today.  I started at 205 and want to go to 155-160.  I too have a hard time excercising because I work on my feet all day, so when I get home, all I want to do is sit and get off my feet.  I really need to excercise more.  Well happy fat grams and maybe we'll chat soon.

    Tlc,

What about exercises that don't require you to be on your feet like bike riding or swimming?

    Just my 2 cents.

Re: ***Users with 50 lbs. to lose to Reach Goal Weight***

Well I made it through my first week and the weekend was bad!! I hade way to many things going on and everything in my family is about food. But I still lost one pound which is ok. I need to take my weight off slowly so I can keep it off. As for TLC's  comment on trying to exercise more, I need to too, but this time I am trying to add a small step each week. Maybe you could start by just parking farther out when you go to the store, or if you have steps at work take them instead of the elevator. Exercise doesn't have to be a workout it just has to get you moving.  Good luck to everyone this week.

Re: ***Users with 50 lbs. to lose to Reach Goal Weight***

Okay, well, this is a group for me.  I have never had weight issues before in my life and when I returned from Iraq, I had issues that required medication.  I had a reaction to the medication that caused me to gain 50 lbs.  So, now I have to lose it.  I've been taking Alli for a few weeks.  I am down 11 lbs from my last doctor visit on 27 June.  I am beginning to see a difference on the outside.  But, the biggest difference is on the inside.  I have more confidence and more like my old self than I have been in a long time.  I also have a different respect for those who have had issues with their weight throughout their lives.  This is a hard thing to do and is taking a lot longer to get rid of than it did to get.  This weight gain was in a short time frame - 4 1/2 months before they figured out the meds were what was causing the huge weight change.  It started out with 5 - 10 lbs, but then 35 jumped on in just 5 weeks!!!  So, here I am.  I have been watching what I eat a lot closer and I am working out consistently.  I am happy for everyone who is taking these same steps with me because it lets me know that I am not alone.

Hello everyone.  Thought I'd check in to see how everyone's doing.

Wow, this weekend I went overboard a bit and had some TE's.  Nothing too bad though.  Thought I might have gained back a pound or two, but I didn't.  Boy was I happy!  Gonna be better this weekend.

This stuff really does work so hang in there and I'm gonna keep on going.

    Holding steady at 181.

Re: ***Users with 50 lbs. to lose to Reach Goal Weight***

     Hello my Alli friends

Man oh man. I feel like I'm out of control. i don't seem to be satisfied with any thing I eat. Constantly hungry. Bumming me out to no end. Taking my alli like I'm suppose to. I haven't gotten on the scale because I'm afraid to see what a dissappointment I have been. Yep you got it.. It's a pity party. Sorry if i sound like a whiner, but man. Sometimes it grabs hold and it's hard to let it go. So much weight to loose and not enough will power at times to make a dent. Up 3 down 2 up 6 down 3 yo yo. I'm not a total looser, I have lost about 10 lbs since end of January. I know i should be happy with any loss. I know we all go through the why me syndrome, I guess it's my turn. Some of you who know me from when I started can probably see a pattern. Makes me so angry. What to do??? I'm just thankful I have this website to cry too. I've not given up, I'll never do that. It's a constant battle, but man is it a mood breaker.

I appreciate you listening. Thanks :)

    Wendy the whiner.

Re: ***Users with 50 lbs. to lose to Reach Goal Weight***

Hi again!  Wow, it's been a long time since I've posted on here!  So many new faces!!  Well, here is my story...I finished my first bottle of Alli and ended up losing 6lbs and 6.5 inches in the month of June....then I didn't get another bottle, so all month of July I've been losing and gaining the same couple of pounds.  I broke down and ordered me another bottle of Alli, this time a 190 ct...so it should be here by tomorrow and I'll be good for two more months.  I know Alli works for a fact and am sorry I dilly dallied around these last three weeks...

Anyhow, good to see new faces and hello to all the others :)

Tomorrow is my weigh-in day (I changed it from Monday's to Wednesdays).  Last week I gained 4 lbs that was the last straw which led to me buying another bottle of Alli LOL!  I hope for a better weigh-in tomorrow.

Re: ***Users with 50 lbs. to lose to Reach Goal Weight***

Honey, I have a depressing moment everyday. I just keep reminding my self that I am not perfert nor is my life or the world that's why they invented spell Check . There is nothing in the world that you have control over except yourself. Think about the other things: Do you really have control over them? If it involves other people the only control your have is how you react to what is going on. As far as taking the Alli you have an opportunity to start over at every meal, just keep plugging along. Breakfast is the the meal that is the easiest for me to control, I don't mind eating the same thing thing everyday. In fact eating the same thing every day makes my days alot easier for me. I need to pick out one or two lunches to stick with next, one meal at a time! I don't have enough joy in my life either. I like to use walking tapes because they have upbeat music on them which always lifts my spirit. I also like to use the Serenity Prayer to remind me of what I can and cannot control. Look for the little things that bring joy and those moments will come more often. Don't give up, we are not on this earth to give up, we are here for those moments.

Re: ***Users with 50 lbs. to lose to Reach Goal Weight***

Hi Wendy:  Girl you're singing my song!  I seem to stay hungry all the time.  Maybe it is just physiological but the hunger pangs sure feel real.  I have tried eating more protein as Betty K. suggests, and eating smaller meals more frequently, but nothing seems to help.  I can manage to fight it off some days if I stay really busy.  But on days when I'm not particularly busy I always end up eating too much.  That is one reason why my weight loss is very slow.  It is hard to ignore hunger, even when you know that you should not be hungry.  Problem is, at least for me, is that once I allow myself to succumb to the urge to eat when I know I shouldn't I go totally out of control and eat all day.  I think I'm a glutton.  But even if our weight comes off slowly, at least we're still in the game.  I gained several lbs after my latest surgery, then lost them when I started walking again, but they always find me again...so I am constantly running from them and they are constantly chasing me!  I made a renewed vow to try harder starting yesterday.  Well, Friday is looming near so we'll soon see how well I've done.  Not great, but not bad at this point.  Just hang in here with me.  One day we'll suddenly realize that this has gotten easier for us.  It is all a matter of not giving up.  Hey, sometimes I give in but I'm never gonna give up.
