     >>>>I wish I could pretend this week hadn't happened. I was really low on money and was making do with whatever I had in stock. Even though I managed to pretty much stay in my cal/fats, I know I was low on protein and boy, I started being hungry again, with cravings for sweets. I don't think I lost anything this week but I will do better next week. <<<<

Well, I'll be darned. I was down two pounds! And Alli was not really down. Somehow, it had logged me out and just as soon as I logged back in everything was fine.

Hi to all the new sign-ons, and welcome.

Re: ***Users with 50 lbs. to lose to Reach Goal Weight***

Hi everyone. Just started the plan yesterday. My CW is 170 and my GW is 120. My main problem is that I am super busy (who isn't, right?). Between a full time (40 hr a week) internship, a 20 hr a week assistantship, homework for advanced stats, applying for internships for next year (the application is just like applying to grad school all over again... but on steroids... the app is insane), trying to train a new puppy, and trying to keep up with a house... well... finding time for exercise isn't easy. The pup and I go on 2 short walks a day, but she is still learning leash manners, so that makes it pretty hard to get any real exercise out of it. At the same time, I'm not sure when else to fit it in.... I get up at about 4 am to walk her, get the other dogs fed, and get to work on time. I get back home between 6:30 and 7:45 (depending on the day). Then it's dinner, another short (and stop-filled walk), and bed to be able to get up at 4 am every day. The schools I work at are kind of far from everything so there is not really a way to do anything at lunch (also... I like to eat at lunch, I only get around 30 min as is... and usually I am having to do some sort of paperwork during...). Sigh...

It is nice to be able to read posts from people with similar goals. I hope everyone has great week :).

Belle - Sorry to hear about your father. That has to be difficult.  Depression is a rough cycle and i couldn't imagine loosing my father.  I hope your days get brighter.  Just wanted to let you know I said a prayer for you today!

Re: ***Users with 50 lbs. to lose to Reach Goal Weight***

I too am starting my goal weight lost of 55-60lbs today. I've felt fat my entire life, but never really tried to do anything about it until now. I look back at pictures of me from 10 years ago, when I was close to 16, and I want to punch that girl in the face repeatedly for thinking she was fat. I often times find myself thinking, "What I wouldn't give..."

It hit me the other day, I would give up ice cream, cake, quiche, cheetos, fast food (I thank my lucky stars we recently moved to England, where the closest American fast food joint is over 30 minutes away). I want to truely feel good about myself for once.

I would love to have some sort of buddy through this process. I would love to be someone that people can feel comfortable venting to. I can't help but feel like we're all in this together and we share a common bond, no matter what our size is, or what our goal is.

    Hello Hwimps,

I'm down 32 pounds, so now I only have 60 pounds to goal weight, which sounds crazy, but it is what it is.  You'll find a lot of support on here, definitely one of the assets of the Alli program.   Good luck!   Tampabayb

     Hi Ane,

Read your post.  We have the same goal to lose.  How long have you been taking Alli and what are your results so far?

I have been on it 3 weeks and have lost 10 pounds.

Hey Girls----Welcome to all of you newcomers!! Welcome! Welcome! We are so glad to add you to our little family here. Normally I am on more but been busy for a while. I just wanted to say hi to you all and tell you that you are in a great place for support and help along the way.

To all that have lost this week.....CONGRATS!!!! Sorry I can't do a one by one response today, but I have to finish some things around the house before I get the kids from school. But CONGRATS and keep up the good work. After this weekend I should be able to be on here more. So I will see you soon.

Oh, by the way, one of the things I have been busy doing is rearranging my bedroom. I went through the closet to get some winter things out and throw things out....and I found some shorts, size 14, in the closet that I had bought when I did my LAST DIET and was just about in them before. So there they are...size 14...and that is what I have been wearing for a while (although I put a 12 on a few weeks ago and it fit! Whoo Hoo!) But the 14 is comfy right now. Shoot most of them are brand new and most are Tommy shorts. Man I could just kick myself in the Fat Butt right now for not remembering I had them. Bad thing is summer is getting over...dang it! Oh well I will wear around the house! It just sucks that they are brand new and I wont be able to wear them out, plus I dont think I will fit in them next summer...right! Positive thinking!

    Talk with you soon!

Re: ***Users with 50 lbs. to lose to Reach Goal Weight***

Hi!  I'm also new.   I've been on vacation for the last 3 weeks and I've been on Alli for almost 2 weeks.  I've had one weigh-in and I lost 4 pounds.  So far it's been fine and I feel really motivated.  I am a little worried, though, because when I go back to work, it's definitely stress...and I'm a big stress eater.

I have about 56 pounds to lose...well now 52. : )  My dream weight would be 135, but since I'm over 50 I think I might keep a little to puff up those wrinkles!

I've been talking to others on the message boards, and I've found nothig but encouragement.  Anyway, looking forward to meeting you all...and saying hi to some I've already met on other boards.

Re: ***Users with 50 lbs. to lose to Reach Goal Weight***

Oh phooey. It's one of those weeks where I can't get the scale to cooperate with me. It shows I'm up four pounds and I know that's impossible, given what I've eaten in the last week.  Oh well. Patience. Patience.

Did you know that your hair can affect your weight? A nurse once showed me that if you lift your hair off your head your scale goes down a pound or two, depending on how long and thick your hair is.

Anybody have any funny rituals you go through before you weigh in?  Shaving legs? Enemas? Prayer? All of the above?  Might be amusing to share.....

Re: ***Users with 50 lbs. to lose to Reach Goal Weight***

Oh Leslye, you gave me a good laugh with your hair ritual!  Thanks, I needed that!  By the way, when the nurse weighed you, who was the one that raised your hair?  Her?  It doesn't work if you lift your own hair when you're on the scales.  But hey, it wouldn't work for me either way -- my hair's about as thin as I am thick!

Well, I was feeling a little down this morning since I slipped and ate some potato chips last night.  They were baked and I didn't eat but about a handful, but I'd been good until then.  My resolve is back now, and if my hubby brings those chips to bed again tonight, he's going to find himself sleeping on the sofa!  LOL!

Re: ***Users with 50 lbs. to lose to Reach Goal Weight***

Trust a Chi to stick a pin in a German Shepherd's balloon! Yes, the nurse lifted my hair for me but honest, it somehow works when I do it, too! Logically, it shouldn't make a difference.... maybe it has something to do with the mass of hair exposed to gravity. Shoot, I'm an English teacher, not a science teacher. What do I know? But the whole purpose was to get someone to laugh and I guess I succeeded.

What is with our men, anyway? You'd think they'd do all they can to help us. Your husband brings chips to bed. My husband brings home rib and NY strip steaks......

Re: ***Users with 50 lbs. to lose to Reach Goal Weight***

I too am petite height wise....not any any other way.  I restarted Alli in August 2008 with a weight of 195 and have lost 30 pounds. I m very pleased with the results and you will be too. I had one week where I did  not lose and did not gain. I decided that I should probably incorporate some exercise. I do thirty minutes on the treadmill which actually goes pretty fast when I have the Ipod going. Whenever I feel like not exercising I remind myself that I am worth it, take the time for yourself. Anyway add in some exercise no matter how much and you will really see the weight coming off.

I certainly get what you mean though about being small, I too am under five foot. I have noticed how much easier it is climbing steps with 30 less pounds and best of all I am finally out of the plus size clothes.
