    Re: Need motivation to excersize!!

Hi Paul nice to meet you! Its great to have a support network around here! I'm still waiting to find out from the dietitian here if alli is right for me? I have been taking in WAY less fat then what they recommend on here! But exercise gives me so much energy, i didn't go on sunday to give myself a break and hang out with the hubby and i felt lazy today, although i still did 2 miles on the treadmill and weights i feel like i need to go every day to keep the energy level up and pumping! What's your story, i love hearing people who are having success wether they are using alli or not! Its keeps me motivated!

    Re: Need motivation to excersize!!

    Hi Fostaa,

Great to meet you as well.  You should post your question to the online dietician forum again if you don't hear back.  They will help you decide the best course for you.  There is also a link to a quick test on the home page of the site to determine if alli is for you in the meantime.

It sounds like fitness has beome such a big part of your life and that's so great to hear.  My story is pretty simple.  I feel the same way you do about exercise and being motivated by it.  Fitness is a huge part of my life and my livelihood.  I love helping guide people to meet their goals and achieve dreams through fitness that they never thought they could.  That's part of my motivation to continue - because I know that it is life-changing and have seen so many transformations throughout my career.  For a fuller story, you can also read my bio under "meet our moderators" on the site.

Keep up the great work, and keep me posted as to your progress.  I enjoy hearing from you.

    Good Luck,

    Paul

    Re: Need motivation to excersize!!

I w/you guys.  I used to dislike exercising.  Then I messed my heels up (probably by making them work so hard lugging the rest of me around). There was a period of time when I couldn't exercise. In late December, I made myself start exercising.  I exercise 5-6 times a week.  I can't tell you what a difference this has made.  I feel so much better.  I'm able to keep up with the kids better.  Also, I usually exercise at night once they've gone to bed, and I find it really relaxes me and "undoes" the stress of the day. I'd love to tell you that I look forward to exercising every day, but that would not be true.  I also can't say that I never look forward to it,  because some days I do.  I know that exercising is making me feel and look stronger and healthier. I've dieted w/out exercise before, and I didn't feel nearly as good. I guess what  I'm trying to say is that if you can force yourself to exercise at least 4-5x/week for a few weeks, it will get easier, and you will feel much better.  Good luck to all.

    Re: Need motivation to excersize!!

    Hi dvokm5,

Congrats on all of your success and the progress that you have made.  Like you said, exercise really does promote over-all health and wellness as well as the aesthetic benefits!  I love what you said about not always "feeling" like working out.  There are days that are harder than others to get up and get moving!  However, the good and right things in life are not always easy nor do we necessarily "feel" like doing it! Exercise is one of the best things that you can do for yourself and the ones that you love!

I commend you for your commitment!  Keep up the hard work and you should see fabulous results!

    Best of luck!

    Kelli

    Re: Need motivation to excersize!!

    One more thing...

I should have mentioned this in my previous post, but it slipped my mind.  The time I mentioned when I dieted but didn't exercise, I started at 189. I didn't start exercising until a few months into my diet.  Even then, it was pretty much just toning exercises...not walking, aerobics, etc.  Anyhow, I was down into the 140s before I started noticing a reduction in that "cooked oatmeal" look on my thighs (sometimes referred to as "cottage cheese thighs"--yuk! no wonder I don't like cottage cheese! I can't see actually eating anything that already looks like cellulite!) Anyhow, this time, I started exercising before I started changing my eating habits.  Like I said earlier, I started at 195 and have made it down to 173, and I'm ALREADY starting to see a huge difference, not only in the size of my thighs, but in how they look.  They are already smoothing out. NOW THAT'S MOTIVATION!!! So let's all get to exercising and keep the cooked oatmeal in our cereal bowls, not on our thighs.
