    devasted

I went to a presentation today about nutrition. Found out about a whole lot of stuff I didn't want to hear about trans fat and partially hydrogenated fat. Trans fat is suppose to be yucky and not good for us at all. I looked at my I cant believe it's not butter and found out it has 0 trans fat.. which is what I thought a good thing, but apparently not. Everything that says zero really doesn't mean zero. I unfortunately have been relying on that stuff for flavoring just about everything I eat. Turns out I probably have eaten more fat than I thought each meal. Lunch I slather my broccoli and dinner I slather my vegies what ever they might be. I feel sick thinking about how much I've actually consumed in the years I've been using. Sounds like my drug of choice doesn't it?? Then coffee is now something I need to curb. I'm a one cup of coffee a day gal. Did I mention it's a quad shot though. I get it about 6am and am done sippin on it about 830-9ish. Don't ya like how I'm trying sugar coat it? Did I say sugar?  Oh yeah I started to look in the fridge and almost everything that is fat free or sugar free has that stupid trans fat. Man oh man no ICMINB and the coffee has to be cut out or down at least. It's like I was slapped in the face and given a wake up call.

How do I replace them with substitutes that will satisfy that missing void. Oh the drama.

any one feel sorry for me yet??? LOL

    Re: devasted

    Hi Wendy,

Nutrition is not an easy topic. There is a lot to learn and it's best to make the changes slowly. When people try to change everything, all at once, it can be very overwhelming and end up not working out.

I am a registered dietitian and can help you with anything related to nutrition and health. You always want to know what are the qualifications of the person giving you advice and what research they have to support what they are saying.

I am a little confused about why you need to cut coffee out. There are actually health benefits to consuming coffee. You just need to be careful with what you add to it. Here are some good articles about coffee:

Let me know if you have any other questions,
