Re: ok so is anyone else super bloated?

Hi there, I started this question about bloating a few days ago...and I just wanted to let you all know.. for me I think my body was just adjusting to the pills and my new diet. Im not quite regular as of yet, but I have gone to the bathroom a few times and my stomach has definitely gone down a bit. I can happily say I have lost 4 lbs since starting alli one week ago. Im not doing any cartwheels or pulling out the size 6 jeans out yet, its too early for that.. but Im patiently waiting a bit further down the road and see where this goes. Just wanted to let all of you know, it will get better. We can do this! Lets get those real woman jeans out, look at them every so often and stay motivated. You''ll soon be seeing yourself in your mirror wearing your jeans!

Re: ok so is anyone else super bloated?

Oooo. I hope I follow suit!
It's been a week. I feel bloated at times during the day and incredibly (!!!) gassy, usually during the afternoon.
My diet is fairly low fat anyway so I just track it in the nutrition log. I get at least 48 - 56 oz. water a day. I work out at lunch and walk home from work (40 mins. uphill) 3 - 4 times a week.
I peeked at the scale yesterday and was down all of 1.5 lbs. I was a bit dissapointed but I won't despair until more time has passed and I've used up all the pills.
Also, I'm in the middle of menses so that and the pills may be adding to my bloat-o condition. I'm hoping to be pleasantly suprised in a week or so when things get back to normal at the gasworks.

Re: ok so is anyone else super bloated?

Update - One week down / lost 3 pounds - still feel bloated after meals / I guess that helps me stop eating.

Durring the first week I gained 2 pounds, then lost those two along with another 3 / I hope I just loose another 3 this week without gaining.

Walking 3 to 6 miles EVERY DAY

Drinking only water - gave up diet soda / crystal light / (giving up sweetner)

counting every callorie and fat gram (1200 to 1400 Cal a day / 10 to 12 Fat g each meal)

3 pills a day / 1 multi vitamin at night

Total down 17 pounds since 4/22/07  21 pounds to go

    age 42 / height 5'8" / current weight 161

Re: ok so is anyone else super bloated?

Update - I started out the program constipated but around day 7-8 I started to have a more normal BM.  I thought I might have to stop the program.  Now, 7/2/07 I've lost over 8 lbs and have no effects. I am however, following the meal plan. Having been a member of W/W I have pretty good eating habits but, I just needed that something extra to help me along.  I was soooooooooooo very discouraged on W/W.  I didn't feel like a winner at all.  I would attend meetings and applaude other members (younger of course) week after week.  Now, I applaude mylsef!  I'm making an effort to eat well and exercise. It's paying off - and staying off!    Now, if I can just get rid of my Hot Flashes!

Megamotivated - you last posted on 7/3/07 - are you still continuing to loose? It sounded like things were working for you, as they were for me but I slipped and gained back the 4 pounds I had lost. Just curious

Re: ok so is anyone else super bloated?

    Hi,

I've been on Alli for a few weeks and experienced constipation and bloating the first week.

On a Friday night I had to take a laxative because I was so unconfortable even though I was drinking lots of water.

I went back to check on what I'd been eating differently and noticed I had substituded a lot of crunchy healthy sweets for the soft and gooey baked goods I used to eat.  I'd eat maybe 3 chocolate rice cakes a day and maybe some flatbread crackers when I'd never eaten these kinds of things in the past.

I replaced those crunchy foods with healthy fruity milkshakes, 1 cup fat free milk, 1 cup of fresh berries, 2 cups of ice, maybe a little splenda in a blender( you can also use low fat fruit juice and fruit).  I havent had problems since, but if I do I'll take a laxative no more then once a week.

Also if you enjoy coffee that may help a bit too.  I started back with 1 large cup a day.  I bring my own evaporated milk (I love cream, this is my subtitute).  Coffee can help the digestion.

    Good Luck

Re: ok so is anyone else super bloated?

    Hi DJ,

I felt the same way. I kept telling hubby that any day now I just might "explode" because I was so bloated and had no TE's. Finally on day 6, I um.. well... let's just say I had a slightly unpleasant bathroom experience, but afterwards I felt so much better. I told hubby that I just "released some fat" lol!! I haven't weighed yet, so I am not sure if it's working or not, but I hope it is. Don't give up and let me know if it gets better!
